Kevin LaWon, [0:01:24] Quistan Kyle Hicks, and the Deacon up here in the NTX Farsity Sports Broadcast booth about [0:01:29] to get this one underway. Welcome to the first quarter, which is brought to you by Lou [0:01:33] Casey Willow Park, and this kickoff being delivered here for Waco Midway will be delivered [0:01:38] by Abraham Bustamonte for the Bearcats back deep. Jordan Hall and Cooper Hall back [0:01:44] deep. Again, the Bearcats and what the Deacon has described as the, this is his call on [0:01:49] the set. The Creams Cycle uniforms, the White helmets, the orange jerseys, and the white [0:01:55] pants, no piping down the sides of the pants and then depending on the shoes white. We are [0:02:00] underway, line drive kick toward Jordan Hall, and it's going to bounce into and out of [0:02:05] the end zone. So Aledo will start first in 10 here, and again, we welcome you to the [0:02:09] start of this game. The home opener for the Bearcats has the crowd continues to file in. [0:02:13] A lot of fans still waiting to get in on the east side of the stadium here, and so we'll [0:02:18] see how that all unfolds. Okay, so Trey Williams gets the start at quarter back once again. [0:02:22] As we noted from the performance last week, 15 out of 33, 171 yards and a touch in an [0:02:29] interception. Of course, the Bearcats had that streak of 328 games of scoring at least [0:02:35] a field goal or touchdown and unfortunately, but here we go. First in 10 for the Bearcats [0:02:40] at their 25 yard line. Izzy Roberts, the loan running back off to the right, he will get [0:02:45] the call on first down, has a couple of yards to about the 28 yard line. So that's a pick [0:02:49] up of three yards and Izzy Roberts last week had only 10 cares for seven yards, but he's [0:02:55] a tough little runner though, Kyle. He is and you look from the good in the open field [0:02:58] because he's got great speed, but that time he's actually got a little bit of a runner [0:03:01] room. Now on the left side there, the center guard did a really good job of getting some [0:03:05] movement off the down line. And then giving Roberts a little space to operate. Opening [0:03:09] moments of this game, the Sunsteel Brighton, shiny here. We're probably not going to lose [0:03:13] it until close to 8 o'clock. The decons says Sunset of 759 and we're only a couple of minutes [0:03:18] past seven. So hang in there for a while, folks. Second and seven for the Bearcats ball on [0:03:22] the far hash Williams with throw to the right side passes too high on the outside looking [0:03:26] for Maddox Knurse. And that goes into these midway sideline. And that'll be a third down [0:03:33] and seven coming up for the Bearcats. Yeah, it's kind of the same story from last [0:03:37] week in terms of these third downs. You know, it's going to happen from time to time, [0:03:40] but you really you don't want to be averaging third and six plus every single time and [0:03:44] just puts you as such a disadvantage on the opposite side of the ball. So that's how [0:03:48] to chance to connect there. They just missed just up to the outside there. Now they got [0:03:53] in a situation on their side of the field where they need to convert to keep this drive [0:03:55] going. So the near and nurse will split out far to the right side. Bearcats will have [0:04:00] a double tied in formation. Roberts will line up to the left of Tre Williams who waits [0:04:04] the snap on third and seven. We'll drop it back. Looks down now. We'll take off and [0:04:08] throw it over the middle past us high and off the hands at the 45 yard line of Caneland [0:04:13] near. It was just a bit high. But unfortunately for Cane, he couldn't bring it in. And so [0:04:17] it'll bring up fourth down for the Bearcats and punting time. Yeah, just a little off the [0:04:22] mark there from Tre Williams. Honestly, I thought he could probably pick it up with his [0:04:25] feet there. He had a little room in the middle. They chose to try to hit the near of [0:04:29] the bout midfield there and just a little high there. Funny was going to take off of the [0:04:32] two. I did. I probably would have picked up the first down there. But so you got to take [0:04:36] those opportunities when you get them. But you know, that's how it goes sometimes. [0:04:39] Blake could punch it away. It's high end over when and that's one thing that we noticed [0:04:43] here is all of his punts are extremely high, which has allowed the coverage team to get [0:04:48] down there and sue allow pretty much nothing of a return. And this one was spare caught [0:04:52] at the 42 yard line in Midway territory for 36 yards on that. The punt return was caught [0:04:57] for midway. And it'll be a first and 10 for them if they're 42 yard line here. They [0:05:08] will operate with the ball on the near hash toward the Alito side of the bench. Bearcats [0:05:18] will show their traditional form in front with Omari Dindo and time in mix in the middle. [0:05:21] And then Jojo Cooper and Max Foreman on the outside. Wizzington with the carry out first [0:05:25] down breaks a tackle at the line of the scrims. Gets outside into Alito territory with the [0:05:29] first down before he's finally pushed out of bounds inside the Alito 40 and he gets pushed [0:05:34] down at the 37 yard line. It's a pick up of 21 yards and a first down for Midway. And [0:05:39] so that's how the Panthers will start. Wizzington is able to make a guy miss. He looked like [0:05:43] he was going to get hit around three or four yards. Not too big of a game. He's able [0:05:47] to slip out of one tackle and find some space to the outside there. Once there he's able [0:05:51] to use that speed to get a big game here for the first play of the game for Midway. [0:05:56] They officially spot him out at the 37 yard line. So it brings up a first down for Midway [0:06:01] in Alito territory here. Not the start. The bearcats were looking for on the defensive side [0:06:07] of the ball. It'll be a throw out to the left side passes high but making the coverage [0:06:11] as Jordan Hall on a great job there. The pass was caught by Aiden Solas and he loses four [0:06:16] yards on the play back to the 41 yard line. That's a great read by Jordan Hall there as he makes [0:06:22] that cat as he makes that tackle form fitting. It was really good job there. Jordan Hall in the [0:06:26] open field being physical going and attacking the ball there and not letting that ball carry to get [0:06:31] away from him. So a second down and 14 coming up for Midway at the Alito 41 yard line. Happy [0:06:40] to have you with us here. Open him moments of the first quarter. Alito was three and out on [0:06:44] offense. Now it's Midway's turn in Alito territory. Strickland looking at five on the play clock. [0:06:50] They got a hurry here and they might have to burn a time out if they don't get the snap two [0:06:54] one and they did get it snap and now we got whistles in a stoppage here. So did Joe Gillespie get the time [0:07:01] out burned before the ball was snapped but we do have a stoppage and we do get a time out. So [0:07:07] that gives us an opportunity here to talk a little bit more about what's coming up here as far [0:07:12] as the Alito coaches show podcast is concerned. We do have a location for. We spent the first two weeks [0:07:18] at H5 Sports Bar and we want to thank Jesse Haney for his support of Alito athletics. Of course he's [0:07:24] one of the primary sponsors of the podcast but starting this coming Monday we will start moving [0:07:28] into our new home which will be. Polito's Mexican restaurant right off of Ranch House roads and so [0:07:34] we will have an early start this coming Monday. It's a six o'clock start and then starting on September [0:07:40] 14th through the balance of the season we will then shift over to JD's which is right off of Camp [0:07:45] Louis road about a half a mile to the west of that Honda and Fort Worth. So make your plans to join us [0:07:51] again this coming Monday at six o'clock Labor Day for the first on-site location for the podcast [0:07:59] at Politos and then starting on the 14th at JD's hamburgers. Second and 14 for Midway is they had [0:08:04] to burn the time out to give us to Winston he breaks it to the outside or tries to but a great open [0:08:08] field tackle by Kaden Weaver stuff said and he holds him to know again that's just great pursuit [0:08:13] there by the Alito lineback. Yeah we were doing a really good job there attacking the ball carrier [0:08:17] there being physical when he arrived and not letting Winston get away from him that time means [0:08:21] the first play of the game was in had a similar situation he was able to get out of the grasp of [0:08:24] the defender for a big game that time they didn't let it happen and put him in a really advantage [0:08:29] advantageous position for the defense here in third and long. Alright so third and 14 9 1 1 2 1 2 [0:08:34] play here in our first quarter the ball just outside the 40 yard line Strickland will work from the [0:08:41] shotgun three receivers to the far side and Strickland to throw down the far side of the field he's got one [0:08:48] on one coverage of the pass is going to be caught for a touchdown. Jacobi Hamilton got behind the [0:08:53] cornerback got behind Jordan Hall or Scooby Nolan Barker and the pass play for the touchdown covers [0:08:58] 41 yards and Midway breaks out on top. Yeah double move there the leader defender bid on it and just [0:09:04] it was from there is just foot race to the end zone. A good pass there but court Strickland is able to [0:09:09] connect there for the touchdown and yeah it's a little too easy there you're gonna have to you [0:09:13] know do a little better that's that's what we saw last week what happens when you get B.D. like that [0:09:17] they're gonna have to make adjustments in situations like that. So the third touchdown pass that [0:09:21] covers at least 40 yards against this secondary and that's a bugaboo as we've seen from last week for [0:09:27] the two and now this third one here Abraham Boostamani for the extra point snap kick on the way and it [0:09:33] is good 918 to play here in our first quarter midway strikes first the Panthers lead the Bearcats 7 [0:09:39] and nothing back after this time out. [0:10:45] Want to welcome back our friends, Miser or orthodontics with who are sponsoring our kickoffs [0:10:49] and this one is going to come from Boost of Money at the 40 Arlin following the Midway [0:10:53] Score. High end of her end. It's going to be caught by Jordan Hall at the 11 Arlin. [0:10:58] Get some move up the middle with Run Run Run and he's got the kicker to beat. Midfield, [0:11:02] 45 gets away from the kicker and he is going to go 10, 5 touchdown O'Leah Bearcats. [0:11:12] 89 yards. If it stands, a flag was thrown at the 28 yard line for a potential legal block [0:11:22] in the back. Hold up everything here. It's about ready to give you the Alito call for the [0:11:26] touchdown but everybody is walking back and so it's going to be nullified on which should [0:11:31] be an illegal block here. We'll get the call here from the officials. 89 yards wide. [0:11:36] It's actually a blind side block as the official call on that. It's even worse than a block [0:11:42] in the back. Yeah, that's unfortunate. That's really the first explosive play we've had [0:11:47] this season to get excited about there and unfortunately it's negated by a penalty. [0:11:51] That's why we look to see Jordan Hall. He's one of the most explosive guys on his team. [0:11:54] So when he gets the ball and chance like that to make something happen, happy to see it. [0:11:58] Finally, take advantage of that and we'll hopefully continue to see more and more that [0:12:01] as the year goes on. CSG, West Granite and Flores Drive summary for Midway, four plays, 58 yards [0:12:07] of mid-47 off the clock and the 41 yard touchdown pass from Strickland to Hamilton. [0:12:12] So the Bearcats will start because of the penalty. The walkoff is 15 yards all the way back to the [0:12:17] 14 yard line. Again, that's a 15 yard penalty. A block in the back or hold is 10. So first in 10 [0:12:28] for the Bearcats at their 14 yard line. This is a direct snap to Wyatt Dorsey on the Wildcat. [0:12:34] He gets a couple of yards to the 16 yard line. It's a two yard pickup for Dorsey. [0:12:40] And we'll see if they're going to keep this going here or Dorsey will keep running a little bit [0:12:45] more of the Wildcat. The Bearcats have really got to get their running game established here. They [0:12:49] didn't have much of it last week. And so didn't get that one carry for three yards in their opening [0:12:55] possession. Two yards here. And we're still going to continue with the Wildcat formation with [0:13:00] Wyatt Dorsey. Stands with the back to his right at the 16 yard line. He will take the direct snap, [0:13:07] gets room on the outside. Great block on the outside. First down, 35. And he gets knocked down at [0:13:12] about the 38 yard line. It's a 22 yard pickup. And a first down brought to you by our new first down [0:13:18] sponsor, Bull Goose Construction. Bearcats get 22 on one of their biggest explosive runs of the [0:13:25] season thus far. Yeah, it was really good job on the right side of the offensive line as well as [0:13:29] with Caden Palm Quest at the tight end. They did good job of sealing the edge there. And given the [0:13:33] Wyatt Dorsey plenty of room to operate on the outside. He's able to catch the edge and pick up the [0:13:37] first down. Trey Williams returns his quarterback as the Bearcats get out of that hole. They're [0:13:41] going to keep the running game going. Though with Dorsey up the middle, he gets a push maybe two yards to [0:13:46] about the 39 yard line. The official gain was 21 yards to the 37 yard line on that run to the [0:13:52] outside by Dorsey. But again, the Bearcats were just able to clear that deep hole following the [0:13:58] penalty on the kickoff return. So now they have a little bit of field position with which to work as [0:14:03] we approach seven and a half minutes to go here in our first quarter, brought to you by Lucacy Willow Park. [0:14:09] Second down and eight for the Bearcats ball on the far hash. Single receivers either side with a [0:14:14] tight end on the right. It'll be a stretch play give running room to the outside trying to take it [0:14:19] outside as Dorsey. He does break it tackle then turns it up to about the 41 yard line. That's another [0:14:25] pick up of two yards. So now it is a third and six. It's manageable. It's not the best. But it's [0:14:32] better than what we've seen from third and whatever we've seen so far. Yeah, I mean, it's been so far [0:14:37] this year. It seems like every time you have a positive play, the following play is going to have [0:14:40] some type of a negative with either a penalty. It's going to go backwards. So to get consecutive plays [0:14:45] here where you're getting them going forward each time it's its progress. You know, you've got to find [0:14:49] ways to overcome these third and long situations. But you know, at least we're moving forward at this [0:14:53] point. All right, Nerson Lanier or to the far side of the field, power pistol formation for [0:14:57] Tray Williams. He will play action fake blitz is picked up fires over the right side and it's going [0:15:02] to be incomplete throwing into triple coverage for Cane Lanier and one of the defensive backs for [0:15:08] an actually one of the linebackers back on the play was Carl Simmons. And so while the bear catch [0:15:13] Duke at a first down they do get turned away. And so they will be forced to punt for as many [0:15:17] times as they've had the ball second punt coming up. Yeah, that's time. I'm trying to play action. [0:15:21] Get somebody take a shot down field midway. Wasn't full. They had two safeties as well as the [0:15:26] linebacker back there covering the receiver and a pretty easy breakup there. A little too much [0:15:31] error in the ball there and it's really had no chance of completing it. Blake Hood's first punt was [0:15:35] 36 yards. This is another beauty high end over end and a lot of orange jerseys around Simmons who [0:15:41] caught that punt. It was only for 28 yards but fair caught at the 31 yard line. And if you're [0:15:46] going to concede some field on a yards on a punt, if you get it high in the air and allow your [0:15:51] coverage team to get down there, that's the result you want. Yeah, absolutely. There's no [0:15:55] opportunity for a return there and you get your defense on the other side of the field to start [0:15:59] this drive. So first in 10 for Panthers for the Panthers at their 31 yard line, the ball will be on [0:16:05] the near hash toward the Alitos sideline here. Seven nothing Panthers lead as we are near in the [0:16:11] midway point of this first quarter home opener. Glad that you are with us here on 92.1 Hank FM [0:16:17] in the N.T.X. Bar City broadcast booth Kevin Launquist and Kyle Hicks. Strickland will take the [0:16:23] snap. He will give it to Wizzin it with lots of room up the middle. He gets about seven eight yards [0:16:27] before he's finally tackled on the play by Blaine Fisher. So it'll be a second down and [0:16:34] call it two as he gets to the 39 yard line. And those are the kind of plays on first down that [0:16:41] Alitos offense really needs is get those chunk plays of six seven eight yards to make second and [0:16:46] third down more manageable just not getting that so far in this young season. Now it's been it's been [0:16:51] difficult so far to you know get any explosive plays consistently from the offense but now the [0:16:56] defense out there they're actually midway's having some success running between the guards. [0:17:00] Given as to Wizzin he tries to break it to the outside he does get a first down before he's [0:17:03] brought down by middle linebacker Cole Cox a pick up of four yards to the 43 yard line and a [0:17:08] first down for the Panthers as they keep the chains moving here. Well, Wizzin it as we [0:17:14] as Wizzin ten as we have seen him so far he's really good-sized and again this is a young man [0:17:19] that's probably destined if his health is with him he's probably going to have another 1,000 yard [0:17:23] season again a commit to the University of Notre Dame up in South Bend. I think their rank top five in [0:17:29] the country Notre Dame is I think I've seen three and four maybe five on those guys. They're definitely [0:17:33] top ten. I know that the Irish. Strickland working out of the shotgun and now we got a penalty marker [0:17:41] and I think we might have an illegal snap here. The Bearcats defensive phone is clapping [0:17:48] and so that's exactly what we got but by the way while we have a moment let's give you the officials [0:17:53] they are out of the Fort Worth chapter our referee is Bill Theodore we've seen him a couple of [0:17:57] times over the last couple of years and then the umpire is Chris Tames we've seen him as well. [0:18:02] Five yard walkoff against the Panthers now makes it first in 15 at their 38 yard line. [0:18:08] H back us to the left two receivers to the near side. Play action for Strickland who wants to throw [0:18:13] passes incomplete and it was off the hands of Jacobi Hamilton who caught the touchdamp pass. [0:18:19] He got to the inside of Nolan Barker and really if he catches that he's gone there too and [0:18:24] again remember Barker's moving over to play this position tonight because of the change in the [0:18:29] secondary we're not going to have any deal us a tillman tonight so Blaine Fisher had to move over [0:18:34] to the strong safety and so and Blaine was actually one of the corners so Nolan Barker got force fed [0:18:40] into playing that corner spot. God bless his heart that's really tough on short notice. [0:18:44] It is and that was you know the Bearcats got lucky there because that was touched a touchdown [0:18:48] of Hamilton's able to bring that in he got it free and released inside. A little bit behind too. [0:18:51] Passes off target so thankfully that didn't hurt him but that could have been bad. [0:18:54] Quarterback draw by Strickland he's got some running room in front of him and then he slides down [0:18:58] at the 46 yard line. It's a pick up of seven yards to the 46 yard line so a couple of yards past [0:19:04] the line of scrimmage so the Panthers are going to face they're going to give him officially to the 45 [0:19:08] because that's where he started his slide. Remember it's not where you finished it's where you start [0:19:12] going down that's where the officials market so it's a seven yard pickup so now that brings up [0:19:17] third down an eight for this midway offense here four and a half to play here in the first quarter [0:19:22] Panthers lead the Bearcats seven and nothing. True receivers to the far side Strickland drops back [0:19:28] to throw throws to the right side past his cock for a first down and getting pushed out of bounds [0:19:33] is Marcus Cain he gets pushed out out about the Alito 45 yard line so that's a pick up of 10 yards [0:19:39] and an easy first down little pitch and catch there and a lot of room and a lot of cushion [0:19:43] there per can. Yeah that's not I don't love the coverage there you get that much space and they [0:19:47] only needed that you know the cornerback was lined up behind the first down marker you know in depth [0:19:53] and just really gave him a free release there to get the first down you know you got to get a little [0:19:57] more aggressive and you know press him a little bit especially when you're in the first down [0:20:00] And they're going on third down like that. Well, I think if you're the Midway off, and you're probably going to start working on number six for Aledo's secondary every single time you get. First in ten at the Aledo 45, [0:20:30] but so far, Midway's had no trouble just running right out the Aledo defense. They really had me able to stop at that time. [0:20:36] Whisenton's right up the A gap, untouched the distance for touchdown. So I mean, really Aledo, we want to see a little more fire out of them. [0:20:43] It seems like they're just kind of going to the motions right now and kind of get a little more energy on both sides of the ball. [0:20:48] Extra point delivered by Abraham Boostomani, Whitefoot a kicker. He made the first one. The big play strikes again against this Aledo defense and the extra point is good. [0:21:00] Four minutes, ten seconds to play here this first quarter. It is wake up Midway 14 and Aledo nothing. And you're listening to Aledo Bearcats football on Hank FM. [0:22:09] We want to play football tonight. Okay, this is a Leo bearcat football on 92.1 and get them. [0:22:23] Miser, orthodontics kickoff coming from Abraham, Bustamani. It is a high end over and kick taken by one of the up and for Alito cross the 20, 25 and getting to about the 30 yard line. [0:22:35] That's Kaden Palmquist and so a nice return of 12 yards for Palmquist. The CSG West granite and floors drive summary for Waco Midway. [0:22:43] Six plays 69 yards, two minutes and 19 seconds off the clock and Wisinton showing everything that he's all about going the last 45. [0:22:51] And the big key too is that the bearcats had Midway's offense on a third and an eight and Midway was able to convert it and then boom, not long after that, the big touchdown. [0:23:02] If you keep him, Wisinton chances like that eventually he's going to make you pay. That's exactly what happened just right up the middle. [0:23:07] He used that speed. He was able to out as a foot race to the goal and he was able to win. [0:23:12] Both sides of ball really got to pick it up this going forward. Is he Roberts with this carries? He takes it to the outside toward the Midway sideline. [0:23:19] He gets somewhat horse collared and he gets five yards to the 35 yard line. [0:23:23] So there's a pick up of five yards for Roberts again. 10 carries and 70 yards last week. [0:23:29] The bearcats have 35 yards in their attempt so far. By the way, Trey Williams has missed on his first three attempts. [0:23:36] But again, a positive play. One of the better first down plays the bearcats have had so far this young season that second down and five rather than second and nine or second and eight or second and worse than that. [0:23:48] It'll be a direct snapped on the wildcat to why Dorsey he gets a positive yardage and he gets a first down across the 40. [0:23:56] That's going to be brought to you by a bull goose concrete finishing in the epoxy. [0:24:00] And he gets through about the 40 yard line exactly and so they will move the change. [0:24:04] There's a little bit of maybe a late hit as Dorsey was being pushed out but no flagged. [0:24:09] Yeah, why Dorsey is really showing us some good speed especially on the outside. [0:24:13] There's a couple of three carries so far when he finds the edge. [0:24:16] He's able to get in a lot of ground quickly which is what this Alito offense needs. [0:24:19] They need some explosive players getting touches and right so far this first quarter. [0:24:23] That's what we've seen from why Dorsey Dorsey five carries for 32 yards so far. [0:24:29] And it'll be a keeper of the middle on a delay draw a nice run up the middle there by Dorsey. [0:24:35] It's a not by excuse me Eli Pinnick as they did run a little bit of that zone read option. [0:24:40] And I did mention a few moments ago that with Pinnick in there and you get a little zone read option here that we probably might see that. [0:24:47] And here we are with that he did a nice job of reading that defensive and then keeping it and going for nine second and one. [0:24:52] Yeah, and Pinnick does give you the option to run from the quarterback position which traditionally Alito has a running quarterback. [0:24:58] You know, Tray Williams more of a pocket passer Pinnick is shown he's not afraid to run the zone read and pick up a pick up yards with his legs. [0:25:06] I hate to say that a possession is really important for the season but I think this one really is for the bear cats. [0:25:11] The give is to Dorsey over the left side he does pick up another bull goose construction first down as he gets into midway territory after a pick up of two to the midway 49 yard line. [0:25:21] Yeah, and just I like that we're getting first downs removing the ball consistently on this drive. [0:25:25] You've got to keep stacking the good plays on top of each other and eventually you will it will work out and find a way to get in the end zone. [0:25:31] You know, what was it the Tim Buchanan used to say let's get three first downs every possession and then see where it takes us after that. [0:25:36] They got two on this one. [0:25:38] So we'll see first and 10 just inside the 49 yard line ball in the middle of the field. [0:25:42] It'll be a direct snap this time to Pinnick as he takes a hit inside the 45 try to cut it up. [0:25:49] And he got met right at the 43 yard line after a pick up of six. [0:25:53] So it'll bring up second down and four. And so again, more success from this bear cats running again. [0:25:58] But Robbie Jones is trying to establish on this possession at least for this possession is we've got to be more physical with our running game. [0:26:04] And we've just got to be more physical period. [0:26:07] Yeah, I mean, you're going to have to run the football and that starts with the offensive line. [0:26:10] You've got to send a message to him that we're going to be a physical budge. [0:26:12] You're going to come off and you're going to move people and allow you run him back to have space to operate, which has not happened this year. [0:26:17] But this drive or certain see that Pinnick remains the quarterback with Dorsey to his right and it is a give up to Dorsey. [0:26:22] He's got a couple of two about the 40 one. Now it looks like they'll give him the 42 on that. [0:26:27] So a one yard pickup for is I think I said Dorsey is a Roberts on that carry. [0:26:32] So it'll bring up now third down and call it a long three for the bear cats have to get inside the 39 yard line inside of two minutes to play in our first quarter. [0:26:42] Here in the N T X varsity sports broadcast booth Kevin Long, twisting Kyle Hicks. [0:26:47] The Deacon is off to my right, totalling all the stats Mercedes Myers down on the sidelines and then our on site producer engineer is the Alito alum Hayden Posey. [0:26:56] Third down and call it a long three. [0:26:59] It is a give to Roberts over the left side. [0:27:02] He may have gotten may have gotten one to about the 41 yard line. [0:27:05] So it brings up now fourth down and two and I think decision time for Robbie Jones. [0:27:10] And I don't think there's really any decision here. [0:27:12] I think he's going to keep the offense on the field. [0:27:14] Yeah, you got the ball into midway territory. [0:27:16] It's fourth and short. [0:27:17] This is an attitude play like you got to go there and want this more than the defense does it. [0:27:21] You've got to find a way to pick this up. Keep your offense on the field because if the midway gets the ball back, what the defensive show is for you can't afford to go down three scores. [0:27:28] High risk high reward play here for the bear cats if they don't get stuff if they get stopped. [0:27:32] They turn it over in decent field position. [0:27:34] It is a carry by panic. He's got a first down inside the 35. [0:27:38] He pushes forward to about the 34 yard line and the bear cats convert on fourth and two. [0:27:43] They get seven. Call that a bull goose construction first down. [0:27:47] An Eli pinnick just showing a little bit of strength there because he met that tackler head on and drove right into it. [0:27:52] Yeah, really good job at Eli pinning. [0:27:54] Having great vision in the back in the back field. [0:27:56] He was patient. He waited for the lane to open. He's able to make a move. [0:27:59] Make one person miss and then have some open space to pick up that first down. [0:28:03] And I must have it situation here earlier than this ballgame. [0:28:05] At the 34 yard line in midway territory ninth play of this drive coming up. [0:28:09] Pinnick remains the quarterback to receivers to the outside. [0:28:12] Give us to Dorsey of the middle. He's got a couple yards to about maybe the 31 yard line. [0:28:16] So it's a pick up of three yards. And so this little combination here in this position where the bear cats have not thrown a pass. [0:28:22] Everything has been on the ground. It's maybe four here five here to hear things like that. [0:28:27] But it's enough to just kind of keep the chains moving as we are about to let the first quarter run out. [0:28:32] And the bear cats don't have to run another run another play and they will not. [0:28:36] So the first quarter will come to a close here bear cats showing some life here with their offensive attack here. [0:28:42] It's all on the ground. But they have a hold to climb out of. [0:28:45] They trail the midway panthers 14 to nothing back for the second quarter right after this. [0:28:49] You're listening to bear cats football on Hank F.M. It's ntx-varsity-sports.com [0:30:00] This portion of Aledo Bearcats football is brought to you by Maritz Kia in Fort Worth and by Billy Harris-Roofing, same name and number since 1973. Fort Worth Stockyard's Heritage Club first quarter stats. Midway with three first downs, Aledo with four. The Bearcats have brushed for 67, but Midway for 65. No passing yards for the Bearcats midway with 47. So total yards in the first quarter midway with 129 and Aledo 67. Bearcats on the march here, facing a second down in seven. [0:30:30] He's going to be a keeper by Pinnock on this second down in seven play. He gets near the first down marker. Looks like they will give him forward progress to the 23-yard line. And so the Bearcats second quarter opens up with a bull goose concrete finishing in epoxy first down with it at the 23-yard line. Nice run there by Pinnock to your point earlier about him. Very patient on that run. [0:31:00] He's working on this drive. Double tie dance with the Bearcats on this zone read situation. The give us to why Dorsey tries to break it outside, gets him running him, gets a great block to the outside. 10-5 touchdown Aledo Bearcats. 23 yards in the first touchdown of the season for the Aledo Bearcats goes to why Dorsey of 23 yards and the Bearcats cut the lead to 14-6. [0:31:24] Yeah, a really good vision there from why Dorsey in the backfield didn't look like he's going to have a lot of running room there to start it off. He's able to make a move to the outside. And then from there is a foot race to the pile on he was able to win. Good job. Aledo offense. Didn't throw a single pass that drive. Just all running downhill and being physical. That's a good way to establish the tone. And hopefully we'll carry the rest of this ballgame Hudson parks with the extra point and it's brought to you by your local sports clips. And it is good. Perfect way to start the second quarter for the Aledo Bearcats. 11-22 to play in our first quarter. [0:31:53] We'll take a 30 second time out back after this Bearcats trail 14-7. [0:32:50] And I'm finally holding in my hands the first Aledo scoring possession here and give that the details of that really impressive all on the ground scoring drive for the Bearcats here. [0:33:00] 11-22 to play here in the second quarter. 14-7.2 Wade Leeds. High end over and kick. It's going to be fielded at the 8. [0:33:07] 10-15.25.30.35.40. This is Wizenhunt. [0:33:13] It gets across the 40 to the 45 yard line. So an excellent return there by Wizenton of 37 yards. [0:33:19] The CSG West granite and flooring drive summary for the Bearcats. 11 plays 70 yards all on the ground. That looked like the olden days, by the way. [0:33:28] Four minutes and 48 seconds off the clock. Why Dorsey the 23 yard touchdown run and the Bearcats have got it to 47, excuse me 14 to 7. [0:33:37] But the return or the kickoff coverage team a little bit of a struggle is there under the 37 yard return because Midway starts first in 10 at its 45. [0:33:48] So first in 10 as Quartz Strickland who was three out of four in this ballgame for 47 yards and a touchdown pass with two receivers to the near side. [0:33:56] He will throw out to the left side of the pass and it's juggled at caught but being dragged down right at the line of scrimmage with a flag coming in at the 45 yard line. [0:34:04] It is no gain. The pass was caught by Hayden Brock but he was juggling it. [0:34:09] Ashton Abel was on the coverage there but again the flag came in from the from the back judge. [0:34:15] I mean he threw that pretty quickly here at the end of that play penalty was so the flag was waved off by the officiating crew. [0:34:29] So the pass is good but no gain on the play. So a sigh of relief because I was fearful that might go against the Bearcats. [0:34:37] So second and 10 coming up. It's like a incomplete pass. [0:34:42] Two receivers to the far side one to the near. The H back is to the left for Strickland who takes the snap and will throw to the left pass is going to be caught by Chikoby Hamilton. [0:34:51] Tries to break it tackle before he's pushed out of bounds by Blaine Fisher. [0:34:54] A little bit of extracurricular activity as he gets inside a lead o territory to about the 48 yard line. [0:35:01] It's going to bring up third and short for the Panthers. [0:35:04] It's a good job by Blaine Fisher there just keeping him in front of you. [0:35:07] So one on one coverage out there Hamilton's got some good speed out there as we already seen so far tonight he's able to keep him in front of him and not losing there to go to the first down and force the third down here. [0:35:17] All right so it is officially a pick up of eight yards so that brings up now third down and two at the Alito 47 yard line. [0:35:25] Midway has converted both of its third down attempts in this ball again. [0:35:28] One of them previously on their scoring drive when they had a third and a but this one much shorter at third and two. [0:35:32] And it'll be a give to the backup running back. He has run room and he does have a first down that's Jaden Fields Vaughn. [0:35:40] He is a five nine one hundred and seventy five pound junior. He had fourteen carries for 48 yards. [0:35:45] He's a good back. He's a good complement to Wizenton. Wizenton is the big one. [0:35:49] And of course Jaden Fields Vaughn he's a little bit smaller but also equally effective. [0:35:55] So first first down conversion he gets exactly two yards to the first down in Alito territory to the 45. [0:36:03] Opening couple of minutes here in this third quarter. Glad you're with us as we are finally losing the sun. [0:36:11] We're all in shades and the lights are starting to take effect. Strickland to throw past his caught by Hamilton. [0:36:17] He gets a short pickup to about the 41 yard line. It's a pick up of four yards. His blamed Fisher makes the stop so it'll bring up second down in six. [0:36:24] Yeah it's able to be a little more physical than the outside Fisher. You didn't give Hamilton quite as much room off the line of scrimmage there. [0:36:30] It's able to hit him and stop him from only four yard gain there. And you can see where they've actually made the change there because Nolan Barker is not the corner of anywhere. [0:36:37] They went back to blame Fisher on that corner side there. So bless Nolan Barker's heart. [0:36:43] It just wasn't working out for him in the early portion of this game. So they had to go back to putting Fisher there at the other corner. [0:36:53] So second down in six. Strickland to throw. He's got a man wipe. Deep coverage passes. [0:36:58] It's going to be incomplete. It was almost it is intercepted. It is intercepted. Jordan Hall comes up with it. [0:37:05] And that turnover brought to you by Davidson construction. The bear cats get their first turnover of the year. I thought Jordan was unable to come down with it because it looked like when he landed with his body away from us that it might have squirted out. [0:37:18] But he did hang on. And the bear cats defense creates the turnover. Yeah, it was a big play there from Jordan Hall. [0:37:23] It looked like Marcus came was wide open for another touchdown. Cold Strickland's past is just saving the air forever and allowed Jordan Hall to recover. [0:37:31] Make up a lot of ground and go up and get the huge turnover here. They got give the offense a chance here. Try to go score again. All right. [0:37:38] So the bear cats will work deep on the other side of the field at their seven yard line, but they'll take it because they just denied midway's scoring opportunity. Remember midway had returned the ensuing kickoff back to its 45. So they were driving. [0:37:51] So first and 10 looks like another wild cat formation. This is going to be Izzy Roberts trying to take it up field and he just got room. 10 25 30. And another first down for the bear cats running game. [0:38:02] They're finding some things here with this zone read or wild cat formation. However, you want to call it, but it's another bull goose construction first down to the 29. [0:38:12] Yeah, that's time really good job and the less of the offensive line for the bear cats. Cooper Realms. No league. They're really good job opening some room over there. Izzy Roberts really big play there on first down for the bear cats. [0:38:22] That play covers 22 yards from the seven yard line to the 29. Read option situation because pinnacle remains the quarterback here. [0:38:30] And he will give it to Roberts over the left side. He crosses the 32 about the 31 yard line. And it's a pick up of two yards there. So bring a second down an eight. [0:38:39] One of the bear cats offensive lineman Noah leak the left guard lost his helmet. So he's going to have to leave for a play. So have to get picked up. The bear cats have hit 100 yards for this this game running the football a little bit better than last week when they were minus seven. [0:38:54] A little bit. Yeah, you know, you're not giving up a sack. It seems like every other play. You know, that really helps the rushing average as well. But, you know, they found something here in the running game is last possession and a half here where they're able to get positive plays consistently. [0:39:08] Eat at the clock, move the ball down the field and keep the ball out of midway's hands. Dare I say the momentum has shifted to the orange and white. This is going to be a stretch running play to Roberts. He tries to cut up breaks off a tackle, cuts it up and then just dives forward to see what he can get. [0:39:21] Which isn't going to be a single yard out of it. It's no gain. So it's now third down and eight coming up for the bear cats. Now this is a throwing situation for them. So pinnacle is going to have to do something as he remains the quarterback here on this third and long. [0:39:35] Yeah, you know, they've last drive when they had so many runs in a row. They're able to stay out of these situations. They're able to keep it third and short in fourth. You know, manageable. Now you're in obvious passing situation. It'll be interested to see how Robbie Jones looks to handle this considering their 0 for 3 in these situations. [0:39:49] So 49 bear cats have missed on their first 3 third down attempts. This is attempt number four passing situation for pinnacle under pressure takes off tries to get a block. But he's going to get thrown behind the line of scrimmage. [0:40:00] He was trying to fight through some would-be tacklers if he had been able to do it. He would have been in a position to run for a while but good job there by the Midway defense to shut him down. So a loss of one on that and so it'll bring up 4th down and 9 in the Bearcats will have to punt. But they do get out of their deep end of the field and so a little bit of a room for Hood to punt. [0:40:30] So the main time has really been impressive here. See if he gets another one off which he does. This is high end over end and it's going to be caught at about the 34 yard line as Simmons makes the catch. It's a 36 yard punt but again that hang time it's got to be like 89 seconds. It's really up there. [0:40:52] So I'm going to help for the Bearcats too because the returns from Midway are dangerous when they get the ball on their hands but the hang time they're getting on these ponds, it really takes the ability for them to try to return these out of the equation which you're getting the ball and keeping it on Midway side of the field for them to start positions. [0:41:08] And we should remind you too that the Bearcats lost a touchdown on an 89 yard kickoff return by Jordan Hall. It was nullified by a penalty after Midway's first score or second score rather. [0:41:19] So first antenna at the 34 yard line, Fields von remains the running back, past his thrown out to the right and it's caught for a short pickup. Marcus Cain with the grab and he gets about six yards to the 40 yard line so it'll bring up second down and four. [0:41:34] Yes, spread out past the right there. Cain's able to give the little little cushion there from Blaine Fisher out there. Garden him just quick five five yard hitch to able to catch the ball step out of balance for a positive play here in first down Midway. [0:41:46] So what the Bearcats have done with their defenses that the corners are going to remain Fisher and Hall and so they've moved action able who was listed as a backup safety. He is also one of the safeties along with Cooper Hall. [0:41:58] Second and four coming up to throw and the past is going to be caught for first down by Cain. Nice job a little bit play action fake and a great catch there by Cain on the catch. [0:42:09] Blaine Fisher is down on the field who was making that tackle and so the training staff has to attend to him. But I like that call though by the Midway offense where it's kind of like a little quick play action and a quick strike over the middle on a slam. [0:42:21] Yeah, and that's time Blaine Fisher looks like you got some some friendly fire there. I'm not sure which bearcat it was. It looks like one of the other defenders got him pretty good there and the left shoulder as he was going to try to break that pass up and he's down on the field right now. [0:42:33] But you know, he does got to find an answer for the short passing game from Midway. The last couple series. It's an okay job of kind of bottom up the run a little bit. But there's just given too much free yardage up in these in these quicks in like slant passes out out passes to the sideline. [0:42:47] You're going to have to try to button this up a little bit because eventually when he's guys going to slip free for another touchdown. [0:42:52] Well, take a time out here as they continue to attend to Blaine Fisher. Bearcats trail 14 to 7 623 here in the second quarter after this time out. [0:43:01] This is Coach Jones of the 12 time Texas State Champion, Lido Bearcats. [0:44:03] On this first down, Kerry Wisenton does a great job of avoiding some tackles as he strings himself out wide and is able to get to the Alito 38-yard line after a pick-up of nine yards. [0:44:14] That's a really pretty run there by Lathen Wisenton. Cole Cox makes the stop. But that was all about Wisenton on that run. [0:44:21] Yeah, and Wisenton is a really good job of being patient back there, allowing the blocks to develop the play for him. [0:44:26] He's able to just work his way to the outside. He had a couple blockers out in front of him. He just invited his time until the lane opened up. [0:44:32] He's able to do a really nice job and make it to where it's second and one. [0:44:35] All right. He checks out on Fields von. The smaller running back checks in next to Strickland here on this second down in short coming up. [0:44:41] Have to get really one to the Alito 37-yard line with the ball at the 38. It is a gift of Fields von. He does have a first down as he goes between the tackles. [0:44:50] And he gets to the 33-yard line after that pick-up of five yards. So a first and 10 for Midway moving deeper into Alito territory. [0:45:01] Yeah, and Midway has really found their footing in the running game too. I mean, they've done a good job. They're already over 100 yards for the first half. [0:45:09] And a lot of us coming right up the middle and Alito really hadn't had much of an answer for it. They did a better job last drive, but it looks like Midway has found it once again in this drive. [0:45:17] And they're going to have to get a little more, you know, shout up the middle here and really just try to force Midway's hand at what they can do on offense. [0:45:25] First and 10 at the Alito 33 ball in the middle of the field. Strickland will give it up to Fields von who breaks and tackles the time and makes is there to wrestle him down for a pick-up of one yard on the play. [0:45:35] So a good job by time in there to change his direction and make that stop. [0:45:41] So second down and call it a short eight along, excuse me, a long eight, short nine. If you, whatever you however you want to describe it, they have the ball resting inside the 32 yard line. [0:45:52] The original line of scrimmage is just outside the 33 thing, then an official scoring language, they officially will give him two on that just because of where the ballmark is. So call it a long eight. [0:46:05] Fields von remains the running back for Strickland who will take the five step drop. We'll throw to the right side. The pass is going to be caught for a short gain by Hayden Brock. He's pushed out of bounds. [0:46:14] And he will get to the 31 yard on that's a pick-up of only one. So a third and eight coming up here for this midway offense with the clock stopped at 442. [0:46:24] The bearcats have all three of their timeouts midway has two. And the defense needs to try to find a way to hold up in this situation. [0:46:31] Likely depending on what bid way gets here, they're probably going to keep the offense on the field and try to get this first down the next two plays and try to find some points before half here where they'll get the ball back to begin the second half. [0:46:42] Kind of that no man's land part of the field for this midway offense on a third and eight at the Alito 31 yard line. The bearcats showing a blitz from the outside the back at off Strickland will throw to the right side passes high, but caught on the outside for a first down making the grab as Jacobi Hamilton. [0:46:56] He has the first down to the Alito 22 yard line. They needed eight that got nine. Yeah, I mean, that's just it's easy for him to do that. I mean Hamilton got plenty of separation out there made Strickland's pass relatively easy for him. [0:47:11] Just has to go up and catch that ball for the first down and you know, they found a new set of downs here. Get deep in bearcats territory. [0:47:18] We should point out to the blame Fisher who was injured a couple of moments ago was able to get off the field under his own power. So that means that Nolan Barker has to check back in and play at that corner spot. And so you can imagine that midway offensive coaching staff is going to see if they can go after him again on this first intent at the Alito 22 yard line. The panthers driving they will throw it out to the right side. It's well overthrown. It was intended for Kane. But I think we had a miscommunication on the pattern because the ball went to the outside and Kane cut it to the inside. [0:47:47] Yeah, it looked like Kane was expecting, you know, to run a quick hitch there in the ball to be there. But Strickland was on a different page, which the plylon. So, you know, no harm there for the bearcats. Second and 10. [0:47:58] Listen to him checks back into the backfield again. He is committed to the University of Notre Dame has had a fabulous career and he's we've seen it on a couple of runs. Of course, he had the big one earlier in this game. That was a 45 yard touchdown run. [0:48:11] So a second down in 10 for midway at the Alito 22 bearcats showing a blitz here against Strickland. They're coming with it. Strickland will throw one on one coverage for Hamilton. And it's too high. Pretty good coverage there by Nolan Barker. But because the blitz was coming. Strickland had to get rid of it. [0:48:26] So he threw it basically out of bounds. Third down. Yeah, it's a good job by the bearcats. See if it's put pressure on Strickland and they haven't been able to get some so far tonight. That time they're able to force the bad pass out of bounds where Hamilton really didn't have a chance at it for third and put them in a third and 10 situation. [0:48:41] Well, Midway hasn't missed on a third down attempt in this game. They are four or four trying to make it five and five. This is maybe a four point play here. We'll see what kind of kicker boost of Montaille is. But the bearcats trying to get them off the field. [0:48:54] They're at least four to four down attempt. Strickland to throw going one on one for Hamilton. And he's got it for the touchdown. [0:49:01] He got behind Nolan Barker. And that was an easy pitching catch there. And Nolan Barker kind of slapping himself on the helmet. But there's really nothing he could do against that. [0:49:10] Six one one hundred and seventy five pounds. Senior Barker has given up a lot of size. And it's just those moves that are getting him. And again, Barker was pressed into duty tonight. [0:49:18] So again, as I've mentioned a couple of times, Midway's coaching staff is going to attack that. [0:49:24] Yeah, it was just a double move. Hamilton did a good job. Barker bit on the initial set up to the inside. And then Hamilton released the outside and from there. Strickland has to put a catchable ball out there. [0:49:34] And it's the second time we see him score on a similar concept. Your local sports clips with the extra point. And it is good by boost of Montaille. [0:49:42] 348 to play here in the second quarter. It is midway twenty one and Alito seven. And you're listening to Bearcat football on 92.1 Hank FM. [0:49:52] Friday nights mean one thing. West Granite and Flores drive summary for the Panthers. 11 plays, 66 yards. 22 yard touchdown pass from Court Strickland to Jacobi Hamilton. Second time those two have connected tonight. And Midway reclaims its two-score advantage leading the Bearcats 21-7 here. [0:50:47] In this NTX varsity sports broadcast booth, Kevin Lonnquist and Kyle Hix, Bustemani will kick off with Cooper Hall and Jordan Hall deep. It's high. And it's going to be grabbed by one of the upman. That's Palm Quest across the 20 to the 25 looking for some room. And he's gangtackled. He drags some people with him. He gets to about maybe the 26, maybe the 27 yard line. So a return of about 10 yards. And so the Bearcats will operate from that spot with 341 to play. [0:51:15] They have to get an answer here as they trail now by two scores once again. And they have two timeouts with which to work. And don't forget actually a third time out because we're going to have the two minute time out. [0:51:25] Yeah, you got, you know, just under four minutes here. You got to find a way to get the ball in the end zone here. Frankly, I mean, you're down two scores. Midway will get the ball back to start the second half. And really we haven't seen the defense outside of the big play from Jordan Hall in the interception. Be able to slow him down very much. [0:51:40] Try Williams will return a quarterback. And he gives it off to why a Dorsey. He gets near the 30 yard line. They'll officially give him two to the 29. [0:51:48] And so it'll be a second down and eight coming up here for the Bearcats on offense here again, trailing 21 to seven and sick around the Willow Park Baptist Church half time report comes your way. And it'll be a little bit different tonight because Mercedes will be down on the field. And so with that Texas Cup coming up. And so I'll handle the first segment. [0:52:07] The snap is dropped by Dorsey in the backfield. I think he's able to call. No, he still can't retain it. And so I think you, Trey Williams, rather, and I think he was able to recover it in time. And he just dropped the snap. [0:52:20] And I think maybe Dorsey did recover it. And so it's a loss of seven on the play. And so that's a big negative against this Bearcats offense. And they already have enough problems as it is trying to get their passing game working. But now they've got third in about 15 coming up. Yeah. And this is kind of what we, you know, we were back to last week when you're in these obvious passing situations. [0:52:39] You're making it really easy on midway to come up with something they want to throw at you. And if you allow pressure on the quarterback, we've shown that it's tough to overcome these situations. [0:52:49] Williams to throw steps up in the pocket. The past is caught first down across the 40, 45, 50 into midway territory. [0:52:56] Territory goes, Caden Palm Quest inside the 45. It's a huge pickup of 35 yards for the Bearcats of Bogus concrete finishing in the epoxy first down. And really a big lift for Trey Williams because he really needed a big completion. [0:53:11] Yeah, that's how we saw trellium step up in the pocket, you know, confidently throw the ball, a good strike there to Palm Quest and is able to pick up the first down and do and get this offense in the position to hopefully make something happen here. [0:53:23] First completed pass by the Alito offense tonight to give us to Wyatt Dorsey with the ball resting up the 44 yard line, but he loses one. [0:53:31] And so that'll take us down to the two minute time out here with the Bearcats on the march. We get with them 30 seconds to go here, 30 second time out. [0:53:39] And the Bearcats on the March trailing 21 seven back after this time out. [0:53:44] This is Pastor Joel Robbins, the senior pastor of Alito United Methodist Church. [0:54:34] This is Amito Bearcat Football on 92.1 and Kevveh. [0:54:41] Two minute time out here at Tim Beken and Stadium where the Bearcats have a second and 11 coming up in Midway territory to the sidelines in Mercedes. [0:54:51] Hey guys, update on Blaine Fisher. They were looking at him, kind of stretched his neck side to side. He kind of got his chin strap stuck on his neck, kind of choked him a little bit. [0:54:59] So he probably will be okay to return, but he hasn't returned yet. [0:55:03] All right, sounds good and hopefully we don't need to see him now because the offense is on the field. We need to see those guys for the final two minutes of this first half. [0:55:10] But just to give you a quick update on the Willow Park Baptist Church half-time report. [0:55:15] So I will have the first segment here because Mercedes will be down on the field on that Texas Cup presentation. [0:55:20] Then she'll come back with the Alito Sports page. We'll have the Alito recruiting minute with our new recruiting minute sponsor next link internet. [0:55:27] And then we'll have an interview with coach Robbie Jones on this first second down and 11 play the past is thrown out to the left side from Trey Williams to Kane-Linear. [0:55:38] It's a pick up of nine yards to the 36-yard line in Midway territory. [0:55:42] So good ball there across the field. And so the Bearcats want to go hurry up here on what is a rare third and short for them. [0:55:49] Third and two Izzy Roberts is the back to the right double tied ends to receivers to the far side to the near side rather. [0:55:55] It is going to be a give to Roberts and he is actually going to get nothing back to the 36-yard line as the clock rolls with 125 to go here. [0:56:03] And so I think if you're Robbie Jones and they're going to go for this. [0:56:07] But I think if you're Robbie Jones that you're going to kind of stretch this out bleed the clock a little bit more because if you don't pick it up, you don't want to leave Midway with a lot of time with which to work. [0:56:16] But Midway has all three or two has two timeouts. So fourth down and two coming up for the Bearcats have to get to the Midway 34-yard line on this fourth down. [0:56:25] Roberts is the back Williams is the quarter back. It'll be a give to Roberts. He's got running him first down to the 25-yard line and he was a broken tackle away from taking it the distance. [0:56:35] He gets to the 23-yard line. It is a pick of a 13-yard and that fourth down. Second time the Bearcats have converted on fourth down and that first down brought to you by Bullgoose construction. [0:56:46] Really good job. Roberts are finding the gap there and the left side of the offensive line puts his foot in the ground and just goes north. [0:56:51] It's able to hit the open lane there for the big first down. And now Alito is up against it. He got 40 seconds left. They've got to find a way to get in the end zone. [0:56:58] Robby will burn one of his three remaining timeouts and he does so with the clock showing 39 seconds. Not a bad idea. They probably let a few more seconds run off than they probably would have wanted to but at the same time they did get the first down. [0:57:12] They do keep the football and so they do have some room to work with here. Really 39 seconds in 23 yards as long as you manage it and you do have two timeouts. [0:57:21] The world is your oyster so to speak. Yeah and you can afford with two timeouts to continue running the ball which has come and been what's worked best tonight but you just got to be conscious if you're going to go down in bounds. [0:57:31] You want to reserve enough time as you can to find a way to get some points here before you go in for the half-time. [0:57:37] The barcats again are over 100 yards rushing for the night and for total offense tonight they have 151 yards. [0:57:44] 44 tray Williams tonight is two out of nine for 44 yards. He got off to a rough start but again I think that big pass play of 35 yard to Caden Palmquest earlier in this possession was so big for his confidence. [0:57:59] You need your quarterback to play with some confidence and he needed something for his confidence. Yeah and that's what he found there. [0:58:04] He's able to step up and clean Poggy and nobody has faced able to deliver a strike there for a big first down. [0:58:09] At the 23 Williams to throw will dump a screen over the pass is going to be caught but dropped immediately and then so the barcats will have to burn their second time out. [0:58:18] It was a screen to Roberts but a good close by the midway defender there to close him immediately because there was room to run. [0:58:26] Yeah just a miss block there out in front of Roberts and he was able to come down with the catch but right when he did he was hit with a midway defender there wasn't able to get anything going and they had something set up out there just one miss block though derailed that play. [0:58:38] Well now you get to a point because you're down to one time out left you have 33 seconds you haven't moved since you burned your first time out and so now you've got to be a little bit more aggressive here. [0:58:52] Yeah if you're going to have to start putting the ball in the air here I mean you can probably get away with one more run if you have another plate ready to go where you can get back up on the line of scrammage but your passes if you do that you're going to have to try to get passes to the outside because you've got to reserve the right to kick a field go honestly. [0:59:07] So if you need to say that last time out to get your field go unit out there you need to do that so if you have opportunities to throw the ball you know try to find the sideline where you can step out of bounds or be in the end zone where you're going for a touchdown. [0:59:18] 10th play of this drive coming up for the barricades with the ball on the far hash trailing 21 to 7 at the midway 23 Williams will stand in the shot going with Roberts to his left you receivers to the near side. [0:59:29] Williams will throw wants to under pressure and he's going to go down at the 29 yard line the attack the sack was made by Caden Bird the corner coming from the outside and so Robbie Jones has to burn his final time out with 24 seconds. [0:59:44] That's one thing we're one of those things where the clock is in your head for the quarterback if you've you've got a sense that coming from your blind side he should have thrown it away perhaps you either got a throw it away you got to take off running. [0:59:56] At some point you know the battles lost downfield. [1:00:00] You know, for lack of better words and you just gotta try to make something happen with your feet or get rid of the ball. Like you said, you gotta have an internal clock there where, you know, the offensive line can only hold up for so long. So at some point, it's time to, you know, get rid of it or see which you can pick up with your feet. Well, unfortunately, the Bearcats have burned all of their timeouts and for all of that, they have lost six yards in these last couple of moments here. It is now a third and 16 coming up at the Midway 29. They have to get to the 13 yard line. [1:00:30] The Bearcats are one out of six on third down, but they have converted to fourth down situations. I would think though if they don't, this has got to come to the sideline here because remember they don't have any timeouts remaining. So things have got to go to the sideline. And you can't afford to clock it in the situation. No, before down. So you gotta find a way to get the ball out of bounds, whatever happens or in the inside. On fourth down, Williams will throw the pass is going to be caught. Manic Snures, touchdown. Got inside of the corner. It covers 29 yards. [1:01:01] Down pass of his career as a little bearcat for tray Williams. That felt good and a great job. I Maddox, nurse to Carral that because it was a little bit low and the Bearcats draw. Their second touchdown of the night. Really good job. I Maddox, nurse of get inside leverage there. He's able to come open. Give behind the defenders over the hash there. Tray Williams able to deliver a catchable ball that time. Complete the touchdown there for a huge player out before half of the Bearcats. Your local sports clips extra point is [1:01:31] good by Hudson Parks and the Bearcats with exactly what they hope to get out of this. Tribate looked a little dire there on third and 16. But hey, we like drama around here in Eastern Parker County. But again, touchdown pass covers 29 yards. Again, the first one for Tray Williams. Again, the two big plays. You know, we were just talking about the fact that clock in your head and he took the sack, but a great job by him mentally to rally back and make a big throw. It was a huge. That's the play of the game so far for this lead of team because you just seems like Midway had all the momentum. [1:02:01] Going there is third and forever. It didn't look they were able to be able to find points before half of trade waves. There's a really good job stepping up in the pocket, delivering a ball to Maddox. Nurse, you're in a great route there for a huge answer there before half knowing midways about to get the ball back to start the second half. CSG West Granite and flooring by the summary for the Bearcats 11 plays 73 yards. The 29 yard touchdown pass from Tray Williams to Maddox. Nurse, 254 off the clock extra point. Good and the Bearcats are back with an score. It's midway 21 and a little 14. [1:02:31] Now time for your kickoff brought to you by your friends at Meiser, orthodontics. It is high end over and and taken at about the 12 up the far side. 20, 25, 30 and dancing on a tightrope and being pushed out of bounds at about the 33 yard on. And so that's where midway will operate with 13 seconds to go. We'll see what Joe Gillespie does here with the momentum back with the Bearcats here. But again, the Bearcats, as you mentioned, Kyle will have to play defense to start the second half. But regardless of the [1:03:01] performance, they needed some real that we've seen some good things tonight here much better with the offense. Robbie Jones thought that they had a good week of practice said so in our pregame visit with him. And we have seen some glimpses. It's obviously not all the way there, but far better than what we saw last week. Yeah, there's definitely probably been progress in the office inside of the football. You know, they're actually can sustaining drives and moving the ball consistently down the field. And now they're starting to actually finish the drives. And Joe Gillespie will play a conservative. They'll take the victory formation and run out the first half. And both teams [1:03:31] will head to the locker room. Bearcats get the late touchdown right before the end of the first half on the big touchdown pass. And they closed this game to seven points here as we hit halftime at 10 Buchanan Stadium on the campus of Alito High School here in Eastern Parker County. Coming up, the Willow Park Baptist Church halftime report. We will have a little bit of a presentation of what this Texas cup is all about. If you didn't catch Mercedes Mercedes pregame sideline report about what we're doing. [1:04:01] We'll talk about that Texas cup of represents we'll talk about it here at the half and then we'll have the Alito sports page. Obviously have some scores. We'll get a comment from Robbie Jones again. Halftime here at Alito. It is wakes all midway 21 and Alito 14 and you're listening to Alito bearcats. It's time for the Aledo Bearcats half-time show. Brought to you by Willow Park Baptist Church on 92.1 Hankhaven. [1:07:48] Back here at Tim Becanons Stadium in Eastern Parker County. It's half-time here where Waco Midway leads Aledo by a score of 21 to 14. I'm Kevin Longquist, kind of a different sound here of our Willow Park Baptist Church half-time report because the Aledo 25 and 26 athletic teams are being honored for the first time for the first ever presentation of the Texas Cup. So what is that? [1:08:11] The Texas High School Athletic Directors Association proudly presents the inaugural Texas Cup. It recognizes the top overall athletic program in each of the six university inter-scholastically classifications across this great state. [1:08:25] Now in 2526 that success included a gold medal for Bearcats baseball, a state silver medal for Lady Cat Softball, and the state bronze medals for Bearcats football, Lady Cat volleyball, and Lady Cat Cross Country, as well as individual state qualifiers in girls tennis, boys cross country, boys golf, boys and girls swimming and boys and girls wrestling. [1:08:46] And of course the Lady Cat and Bearcats teams collectively, this is so impressive. They want to combine 95, 0 and 3 in District Play in 25, 26. Those three were draws during the soccer seasons, but all of those teams sports between the soccer teams, baseball teams, softball teams, volleyball, the basketball teams, and of course football, one undefeated in their final year as a Class 5A school. That's why I kind of made the comment a couple of times during the course of the school year last year that no one in 5A Division won. [1:09:15] I'm sorry to see a little go after that year. And again, the presentation was made by the by Rusty Dallin. He is the executive director of the Texas High School Athletic Directors Association. So congratulations to a little. That was such a fun year to watch all of the Bearcats athletic teams have one final great send off as a Class 5A Division 1 school. [1:09:36] So while we have this moment, let's get you caught up on some scorch them around the area. Be a quick scoreboard. And don't forget the KTF W 92.1 Hank F M scoreboard show will follow our presentation of Alito Bearcats football. So we'll give you all the scorch from Alito's District and District 3 6A last night Arlington High Beat trophy club Byron Nelson by score of 38 to 22 another close game word. [1:09:58] Arlington Lamar rallied to beat. Oh, I'm sorry. Let me give you this one here week two. I beg your pardon. I was looking at the long one here. My my app did not load. So let me start all over with that last night. Arlington Lamar beat Crowley 3531. The Vikings came all the way back to do that. [1:10:16] I'm down at Johnny Perkins field in Hood County and Grandbury where the pirates lead the Waco Alliance by score of 21 to 14 there at half time over an AISL in this battle for Parker County were whether for leads AISL by account of 14 to 7. [1:10:30] Second quarter score were Arlington Sam Houston leads evermen by score of seven and nothing. [1:10:35] And quarter were Hasley VR eating leads Arlington High by score of 13 to 10 and then again that has moved to the half where South Grand Prairie leads Arlington Bui by score of 17 to 6 Arlington Martin leading flower amount Marcus by score of 19 to 7 and that game there will give you one more score from the District 6. [1:10:56] And then I have a final score from last night flower amount high beat Keller Timber Creek by score 31 to nothing. They're in the second quarter were Saginaw Boswell and Pasco out of four or third tight at seven again late second quarter there high scoring game so far in the second quarter. [1:11:10] It's late Keller leads Middleton High by score of 27 to 24. About a minute to go in the second quarter where two minutes ago in the second quarter were Lewis Village trophy club by Rinalsen 42 to nothing Frisco Wakeland leading Justin Northwest 27 to 7. [1:11:25] That game is at the half and North Crowley who put it on a little last week 26 to nothing they're putting on South Lake Carol tonight late second quarter there North Crowley 27 South Lake Carol 7. [1:14:09] Everybody Mercedes here actually still on the sidelines not in the air condition booth but to continue this half time Willow Park Baptist Church half time show again here at the book. [1:14:17] It is midway 21 Alito 14. [1:14:19] Going to try to make that come back here in the second half. [1:14:21] We'll go over what else is going on with Alito High School sports starting with the freshman football team. [1:14:27] The freshman football teams continued to have a strong start Thursday night both the orange and black teams posted shut off victories over Waco midway here at the book. [1:14:36] The black team opened the night with the 40 to nothing win and the orange team followed with the 44 nothing win. [1:14:42] So both teams are 2 and 0. [1:14:44] The black team quarterback Noah Wagnon led the offense to the air connecting with Jaden Vasquez and Logan Kyrth for touchdown passes. [1:14:50] Hunter Brombrick added 2 rushing touchdowns and Knox Knox Nussbaum also found the end zone on the ground defense equally impressive. [1:15:00] Midway, off the scoreboard in the game, Hamilton, Bailey, made a major impact on the defense, recording two fumble recoveries to help the Black team maintain control again. The Black team won that game, 40 to nothing. And then the orange team delivered another dominant performance in the second game, shutting out made away 44 nothing. Preston Sanders led the passing attack throwing two touchdown passes to Henry Fink and another touchdown pass to Blake Huffman. The orange rushing attack had three touchdowns with Xavier Hernandez scoring once and Brock Evans finding the ends on twice. [1:15:30] The defense performance with an interception return for touchdown as again the orange team won 44 to nothing. The JB teams next, the JB Black team rolled to a dominant 35 to 6 win over Waco Midway. The game was on the road in Waco. Bearcat offense operated efficiently keeping Midway's defensive backs on its heels all evening. Sky Bradford had two rushing touchdowns and set up a physical tone up front through the air quarterback Preston Tubbs. [1:15:59] Pick to part the secondary and through two touchdown passes. Dracen Bell had a touchdown reception and Jake Smith also had a touchdown reception. Tristan Flewett, excuse me, had an interception return for touchdown and Ian Wade also had an interception during a midway drive. [1:16:22] Cash Keaton had a fumble recovery and Gunnison dollar had a fumble recovery and Draco Alesco also had a fumble recovery. [1:16:32] So a lot of turnovers for the Bearcat JB Black defense in a 35 to 6 win. The JB Orange team fell 18 to 9 in a hard fought battle. Ruby Hubbard contributed running back and Trevor Reiner found the end so with a touchdown reception. [1:16:47] Defensively, Jagger Forbes continued to make plays and lead the effort and coach Bishop said he is proud of the fight from his guys and they will go back to work for next week's game. [1:16:55] Up next to the tennis team, the varsity tennis team dominated Arlington Bay 19 nothing. They swept every category with that win. So boys doubles all three one by eight O scores. The girls doubles also swept all three matches. [1:17:11] And then mixed doubles went eight O and again sweeping all individual singles points as well. So they are now 11 and four and three and O in district play and they will play Arlington High School in their next district matchup. [1:17:28] volleyball team swept the Pasco Lady Panthers on Tuesday. They were hosting Highland Park tonight. Highland Park, of course the team that beat them in the state semi finals last year. [1:17:39] Really, really good team who had a lot of players returning. I have not heard the score on that game. But for the Tuesday's game against the Pasco Panthers, the varsity team won 25, 23, 25, 7, 25, 15. [1:17:52] Kayleigh Berkeley led the team with 17 kills and Brinley Schneider, Meakom's and Lily Morris each had four kills. Carson Evans leading the team with six aces Harper Harbuck with 27 assists to lead the Lady Cats and Carson Evans led the team in digs with 24. [1:18:09] Kayleigh Berkeley had 13 and Clara Devaney had 14 and then Meakom's and Kayleigh Baker each had four blocks and Layton Lindley had three. So again, they were playing Highland Park tonight. I have not gotten a score. I played on that one. And then the cross country team. We told you about this one last week. They're actually running tomorrow morning, probably one of the biggest meets of the year as they get ready to see where they stand and how good they can be this season at the Marcus coach to invitational tomorrow morning and didn't so we'll have those results for you next week. [1:18:38] Next week, whenever they're done running tomorrow morning and here at the buck, it is midway 21 and a Ledo 14 and we come back. [1:22:30] The Alito Bear cats by a score of 21 to 14 and should let you know that this halftime which is typically a regulation of 28 minutes extended of a little beyond that because of the fact of the Texas Cup presentation. [1:22:43] So we've got a few more minutes with which to work. So let's give you the statistical report. It's brought to you by four stock yards and heritage club. [1:22:51] First half numbers look like this from a team standpoint. The bear cats had nine first downs midway had six rushing yards. The bear cats with 100 midway with 97 average yards per attempt a little bit in midway's favor. [1:23:03] I mean I'm kind of under selling that the bear cats with 3.8 yards per carry but midway with 8.8 yards per carry passing yards in the ballgame Alito with 73 midway with 110 total yards in the game to this point for Alito 173 midway with 207 so far passing attempts for the bear cats. [1:23:23] Not so good but they got off to a slow start they kind of picked it up and of course they completed their last one which was a good one. [1:23:28] A 4 out 11 so far 11 out of 15 for midway so far one turnover in the game and that goes to the bear cats defense Jordan Hall with the interception that came in the second quarter that thwarted a midway drive so a good sequence there the bear cats with their first turnover created on the season the bear cats did fumble at once but they were able to get it back on third down in this game so far the bear cats two of seven but their last score. [1:23:52] A dandy of that touchdown passed right before the end of the first half midway perfect so far five out of five the average need though for each team making it hard on themselves as they have needed an average of 8 yards in this now the bear cats of also though converted to 4th down attempts they have and they only had to 4th down attempts and so good for them on that the bear cats punting wise so far and really the great weapon here for the bear cats as we bring Kyle Hicks back in the game. [1:24:21] Kyle Hicks back into this with the Blake could as we've talked so much about you know it's maybe not so much the distance on his punts but it's such the hang time three punts for 33 yards midway hasn't punted but that hang time has been such a great weapon because not only does it flip the field Kyle it allows your coverage team to get down there and basically allow for no return. [1:24:41] They have some really dangerous returners on the other side of the field so you know you really want to do the best job you can at limiting and how effective they can be and you know hitting you for an explosive play on special teams so you know having that hang time allowing your coverage team to get down there and eliminate that is really a great advantage. [1:25:00] Panthers to the Bearcats, you're starting Midway on their side of the field most of the time, which at this point Aledo's defense has needed so far this evening. And penalties none so far in this game really. Essentially if you want to look at it that way, the Bearcats had 1 for 15, but that hurt quite a bit because that was a crackback block that nullified an 89 year kick return for a touchdown by Jordan Hall. Midway was penalized only once and that was for five yards. Time of possession in the ballgame. This point Aledo with the lead, just like it had the gigantic lead last week. [1:25:30] Midway is a 9 seconds midway 10 minutes and 51 seconds. The scoring in this game so far midway jumped out to a 14 to nothing lead. They struck first on their opening possession. When Quartz Strickland found Jacobi Hamilton on the first two of these two getting together 41 yard touchdown pass that made it 7 to nothing. And then Wysenton breaks off a 45 yard touchdown run to make it 14 to nothing. [1:26:00] With a 23 yard touchdown run to give to cut the Bearcats deficit to 14 to 7. It went back to do a two score game with three minutes and change to play in the second quarter when Jacobi Hamilton caught a 22 yard touchdown pass from Strickland. That made it 21 to 7. But the Bearcats were able to respond and probably their most important possession of the season, this young season so far. This was an 11 play drive that covered how many yards did it cover? [1:26:29] 73 yards and on a third and 16 at the 29 yard line right after they had converted a fourth down on a great run by Izzy Roberts. [1:26:41] 29 yard touchdown pass from Tray Williams to Maddox Nurse. First time those two have connected this year. First touchdown pass for Tray Williams and then the Bearcats cut it to 21 to 14 in the closing seconds of the first half. [1:26:53] Now individually for the Bearcats, Tray Williams has been sacked. That was once for six yards. Izzy Roberts tonight he has nine carries for 47 yards. Why Adorcy 10 carries for 38 yards and then Eli Pinnick when they've been using him the back of quarterback in the zone read situation. [1:27:08] 5 carries for 28 yards. He's also been sacked once he lost a yard on that. That was on a third and long situation. Williams to the air tonight 4 out of 11 again no interception 73 yards and the touchdown pass. [1:27:21] Roberts is caught one pass for no yards. Kaden Palmquist with probably the biggest catch of the night for the Bearcats on that third down and long. He had a 35 yard. I think that was like third and 13 or 13. [1:27:32] Yeah, I mean, that was a critical completion for not only for not not only to pick up the first down but for you know, allow and Tray Williams to get an explosive completion. [1:27:41] He's able to step up step up in the pocket to deliver a good ball to Palmquist who was coming at the top of his route there and really as big confidence boost for Tray Williams. [1:27:49] We saw you know, later on that drive hit Maddox Nurse for the touchdown. Yeah, and that was a third and 15. The Deacon tells us and it goes back to the touchdown pass of 29 yards to Maddox Nurse. [1:27:59] That was third and 16 there. So two big pass plays by Tray Williams again. That's the biggest thing for him throughout the course of the season is just getting some confidence in those two big completions where you would like to think will give him a lot of momentum into the second half. [1:28:13] All right. So to finish the numbers for the Bearcats Maddox Nurse with one catch for 29 yards. Of course, that was the touchdown catch and then Kaden Leneer one catch for nine yards. One more note on Maddox Nurse. [1:28:25] One thing one one thing I'll tell you about was in their scrimmage against South Lake Carol two weeks ago. He and Williams connected on a pretty good pretty big pass play on what appeared to be the same kind of route that we just saw on the touchdown pass. [1:28:40] So if those two can get it together here, that's going to be a fun combination because Maddox Nurse is a junior 6 2 2 0 5. He's got the frame to play. [1:28:48] He does and we see the the flashes of you know how dangerous of receiver he could be like that last touchdown he had there. He was in double coverage because he was able to make it inside and move and get behind the the safety that was covering him over the top. [1:29:02] And and made it easy for Tray Williams to deliver a catchable ball there for the big touchdown for half. So you know you see how crispy is it in his routes. He's got good hands and he's got the frame. [1:29:11] So if they can get a little bit of you know some chemistry in the passing game, he could be a great weapon for this lead offense. [1:29:18] All right. Individually for midway as again, the Alito regimen is performing here at halftime again a little bit of a longer halftime than what we've had in the past just because of the Texas Cup presentation to begin it. [1:29:29] They didn't start the clock until midway's band started with their halftime performance. But rushing the football for midway court Strickland their quarterback two cares for two yards and then Lathen Wysenton. [1:29:40] He's really fun six carries for 87 yards including that 45 yard touchdown run the other run that I liked about him was when he broke off a nine yard run when he was able to kind of string himself out and he was still able to get nine yards. [1:29:51] It just kind of shows you his power and how kind of he's a special back and he's going to be a handful in the second half. He is you know that's the reason he's going to play at South Bend next in the fall and next fall. [1:30:02] You know he's he's a very talented running back. We've seen the flashes of speed on that long 45 yard touchdown run is right up the middle and touched and it's just a foot race. [1:30:11] He out ran everybody but we've also seen how patient of a runner you can be like you were talking about that nine yard carry. [1:30:16] It wasn't you know impressive on the stat sheet but if you look how he was able to pull that off and just extending extending the play allowing his blockers to do their job and he's he's a very patient runner with really good vision. [1:30:29] So it's going to be a great challenge in the second half to see what the elite defense can do to try to slow him down. [1:30:35] All right continuing with the numbers here for Waco Midway there are other running back. [1:30:39] Jaden Fields von three carries for eight yards now court Strickland through the year 11 out of 15 for 110 yards two touchdowns and of course the interception that the Bearcats got in the second quarter. [1:30:50] Jacobi Hamilton has been the big threat here for them five catches for 84 yards to touchdowns Hayden Brock their tight and he caught a touchdown pass last week against Leander Rouse but only two catches for a yard at this point. [1:31:02] Aidan Solis has one catch and he's lost four yards on that play and then the other receiver Marcus Cain has three catches for 29 yards and that is a look at your half time stats. [1:31:13] Given game the Bearcats are down by a score and again I'll be interested to hear Robbie's Robbie Jones's comments when Mercedes gets with him here to talk about what that I would like to think that that that they're they should go into the hat they should have gone into the halftime locker room feeling very energized the way that first half ended because they converted to big third down plays as we discussed they get a touchdown right before the end of the first half and even though they've got to play defense to start the second half confidence is such a big game in sports. [1:31:42] Yeah, I said the high school level and last last week you know you're going back to that game you know they didn't have a lot because they had shown they could go out there and and move the ball on the offense aside of the ball you know this this game they they have they know they've done it in multiple ways you've done it drive or they did nothing but run the ball right at midway and they were able to finish that one off of the touchdown [1:32:00] and then you go in this last drive right before halftime they're able to throw throw the ball through the air pick up some big third down conversions and still get the ball in the end zone so you know that's only going to help this offense you know gain some confidence they still got a long way to go offensively up front they still got to do a better job in pass protection because it seems most times they drop back for pass there's going to be they're they're getting pressure on the quarterback but I feel like in the running game especially between the tackles they've done a much better job than they did last week of giving their running backs a chance to gain positive yardage. [1:32:29] All right we'll take a one minute time out here midway's team has started to make its way out to the field so so they can begin their start of the second half bear cats are starting to come out as well so we'll take the quick break back after this time out half time almost over here that we want to thank you for listening to the Willow Park Baptist Church half time report 2114 midway over Lido back after this break how do you feel about tradition small town values respect and the golden rule do you agree that personal customer service and quality products are a lot of [1:32:59] good for the way Texas butane in weatherford has done business for five generations on weatherford historic town square providing propane for the home grill fire pit outdoor heaters in a complete line of Wilmington grills and Peters and gas logs Texas butane also sells and leases propane tanks for commercial or residential use on the south side of the square in weatherford and online at Texas butane dot com. We have stream of all the paradise athletics teams. We're streaming their football games starting from last week. [1:34:41] And of course, we're streaming boy, hoping to add more teams as we grow over the coming years. So NTX varsity sports dot com time. [1:34:48] Time out to visit with Robbie Jones in this half time interview with Mercedes is brought to by Jags medals. Go ahead Mercedes coach. [1:34:55] How do you take that energy to in the first half of the momentum that you had a little bit. [1:35:00] I hope we can continue that. That's something we haven't been able to do so far this year. We'll get some things going. [1:35:07] And then next time we go out there offensively, we don't have it going again. [1:35:12] So that's the main thing right now is get a little consistency on offense. Your secondary already down one, a little bit banged up tonight. How do you keep them from? I guess how do you just keep them contained? I mean, they just got guys got to step up and make place. [1:35:28] You know, the backups that are in right now, they've got to do a good job and, you know, do what they can do and get them stopped. Don't give up that deep ball. Thank you. Thanks. [1:35:39] All right. Thanks for a steady and of course we'll have to watch for since Aledo's on defense first, what's going to happen with the playing fishery memory? [1:35:45] Kind of looked like he had taken a stinger toward the end of the first half. And so we'll see about his status of being able to return for the bear catch did not return for the balance of the second half as both teams are making their way out there. [1:35:57] We are about to start the third quarter here on Aledo bear cats football and we should while we have a moment, let's tell you that Aledo bear cats football is brought to you by Maritz Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram in Westward worth and by Billy Harris roofing same name and number since 1973 are two presenting sponsors. They've been with us since at least 20 years. [1:36:17] They've been with us as long as I've been doing these games and this is my 21st year doing it. So our thanks to both the Maritz family of dealerships and Billy Harris roofing being with us here along the way in Aledo playing its second game ever. [1:36:29] It's a classic say school and again if you miss the score about North Krali as the bear catch take the field North Krali was beating up South Lake Carol 27 to seven. [1:36:39] That game was in the second half second quarter rather so if you were in Aledo find you can kind of take a little bit of solace on that and say yeah North Krali is just a cut above. They're really good. [1:36:48] They're built to try and win a state championship this year. Yeah they appear to be pretty good. [1:36:54] From what we're seeing they're just they're just a very physical very talented football team as we saw last week and you know that's just I think you're going to be seeing around around Christmas time. [1:37:05] Yeah they're very vanilla here on this to the sidelines and Mercedes. I was going to jump on that conversation. I asked Robbie Jones early this week. So do you regret scheduling that? [1:37:14] I mean jumping into the sixth day playing with Krali is like no because just like any other year it's hard to find an opponent. [1:37:19] And at that point his other choices were jinx Oklahoma or Austin West Lake. So I mean you know you might as well jump in with North Krali. [1:37:26] Okay and here's the funny thing because jinx Oklahoma obviously just played South Lake Carol last week at the cotton bowl and Carol rallied all the way back to win that game 34 33 and if you're going to play Austin West Lake this year this week. [1:37:41] The problem was is that that's Ulyss Trinities game because Ulyss Trinities playing Austin West Lake and of course the mayor cats are playing Ulyss Trinity over at Pennington Field in Bedford next week which is where we'll be. [1:37:53] This is a really demanding non-district schedule for later among others that we haven't seen in a while. [1:38:00] It is you know and I also think the commute to South for worse a little bit of the Austin as well so that probably played a part in it. [1:38:06] But you know it's nothing we haven't seen before around here we've they've always done a good job of scheduling really good opponents in the non-district schedule just to test themselves and show the team where they are. [1:38:17] And you know last week I feel like was a wake up call this week. It's it's more the same you know we still got a long way to go but you know we they are capable going out there and getting it done. [1:38:27] Second half is underway as Hudson Parks delivers this miser orthodontics kickoff we want to welcome them back as it will be fair caught at about the 20 about the 19 yard line and so that's where midway will start again the bear cats will be on defense and we do see the return of blame Fisher out there. [1:38:46] So that's a good sign remember they had to if you do if you weren't with us at the beginning of the broadcast the bear cats did our how to do some shifting around in their secondary because they were without Dylan Tillis tonight one of their safety so that shifted the corners around where Nolan Barker had to start off as a corner but those were there are some issues on that unfortunately for Nolan just you know he he had some struggles and there isn't so. [1:39:10] But midway through the first or second quarter is when they made the shift back from Nolan Barker to a blame Fisher playing that other corner spot on the other side with Jordan Hall so first in 10 for midway at its 19 yard line as we open the third quarter it is going to be give over the right side to fields Vaughn and he gets bottled up for no gain and the tackle is made by the bear cats by blame Fisher [1:39:39] and so it will bring up a speaking up blame Fisher there is on that tackle so it's now second down in 10. [1:39:44] Wizzington checks back in again opening moments here of the second quarter nice half time wake of midway is brought a pretty nice crowd here and they got a pretty large band here in cheerleader section here so they made the trip we make the return trip down to McCleening County next year. [1:40:03] So second down in 10. Strict went out of the shotgun with two receivers either side it will be a give up the middle to Wizzington and he gets pretty good pick up there five maybe six yards to about the 25 yard line as ash to enable makes the stop they'll officially give him five to the 24 yard line so a third and five coming up in the boy this would be a great way to start the second half for a lead off they can get a three and out. [1:40:24] Yeah it's a really big play here early in the second half you got a third and five here if you can find a way to get midway off the field here in the third down they hadn't stopped them on third down yet tonight so this would be a huge huge chance here for the bear cast to get some momentum and get the ball back here. [1:40:39] Foster third quarter five out of five on third downs for midway it's time to make a miss one here on this third and five have to get to the 29 yard line. [1:40:46] Strict went to throw has some pressure fires over the middle and they do convert it for the sixth consecutive time as the catch is made by Jacoby Hamilton he's wrapped up and brought down by Elijah Manga. [1:40:57] It's a pick up a 13 yards to about the 37 yard line and so once again Hamilton has been the big target he has 13. [1:41:04] Yeah and you got to get credit to the midways offensive line they just that bear everything the bear cuts of thrown item especially in those passing situations they've been a good job of picking up they've kept kept court Strict went clean he hasn't been sacked yet that time he's able to deliver another strike they Hamilton for the big first down and continue to strive you know the midway offense has been a been a problem so far for a lead. [1:41:25] And it'll be a give to wisdom and he's bottled up in the backfield nice job by Cole Cox to greet him there and they will officially call him no game but a great effort by Lathen Wisinton to keep the legs turning at least get back to the line of scrimmage because he was stood up at about the 35 when the original line of scrimmage was the 37 so it brings up a second down in 10. [1:41:45] Good job though by the elite alignbacker it was good job of getting down hill and being aggressive at the point of attacking the wisdom. [1:41:51] He's tough to bring down his 205 pounds is really good really tough runner so so far it's a good job that this defensive gang tackling and not let him get loose like you did in the first half. [1:42:00] Wisinton 8 carries 92 yards and again the 45 yard touchdown so second down in 10 for midway 920 to play here in the third quarter midway leads to Lido 21 14 Strict went to throw pressure it's on time and makes his on him but the past is caught by Wisinton across the 45 gets near the first down marker boy time and mix was bearing down on Strict [1:42:20] and he just was a little bit late and the ball came out right before Strict [1:42:25] and got popped but a very alert Wisinton caught that safety check down and make gets nine out of it now on a third and short midway wants to hurry we got whistles and a stop what you play and we got a penalty and I think midway might have [1:42:38] fall started here and they did that's a huge break for the Lido defense right there it was because there's going to be third and one there and midway was hurrying up to the line of scrimmage because they had a favorable matchup on the left side of the field there but jumps [1:42:50] a little earlier of course forces them back now to a third and six now you know back in these situations they they'd like to go to the outside they'd like to work on double moves and try to hit you deep or they'll do an inside slam get it will [1:43:02] especially when they got enough separation that they do now here lining up over there on the far side of the field they put Jordan Hall on Jacobi Hamilton on the near side of the field here on this third and six have to get to the 47 yard line Strict [1:43:16] Franklin to throw the throw to the right side the passes caught first down a huge cushion there and racing away down the sideline thinking that the play was over but on his feet is Marcus Cain and he's finally pushed out of bounds deep into a Lido territory at the 21 yard line and 38 yards on the pass play and midway is now seven of seven on third downs. [1:43:39] You know at some point they're going to have to make an adjustment because giving them all this cushion on the outside is just not working frankly I understand you're trying to to to make do you know with some you know players are there who hadn't played a lot but you're going to have to do something to change it up because you're just giving up too much space there especially in the third down to release basically the first down marker just like that another throw out to Cain who's been given a huge cushion from the junior Elijah Mangrum who's out there and it's another pickup of good yardage of about eight yards down to about the 13 yard line. [1:44:09] So it's bringing up a second down and two again midway third down offense has been absolutely phenomenal tonight. It's been perfect. Yeah but I mean there and it doesn't really matter what their average need has been if it's been five or 10 or two or whatever they've made them all and so the bear cats now with their backs pushing toward their own end zone here at the 13 yard line on this second and two would be great if they could come up with a turnover here if they can. [1:44:38] Fields Vaughn with the carry and he will get nothing he's right back to the line of scrimmage and so it's a now a third and short coming up here and so and it's almost like when you get the third down I say oh man I don't want to see this. [1:44:50] Well I think you can pretty much guarantee regardless what happens here they're going to keep their offense sealed here I mean the the success they've had offensively not I'd be shocked. [1:45:00] To see the not at least a tent to go for it on fourth down, if they're not able to pick it up here on third and short. This is a very deliberate third down coming up here in terms of the way Midway is running its offense. They're coming out of the huddle here. And they've had the ball for the first five minutes of this third quarter as we are at the seven minute mark on this third and call it a short two ninth play of the drive coming up. It is a give over the left side running room and a first down for Fields Vaughn. He gets inside the 10 yard line. It'll be first and goal at the nine. [1:45:30] So now make it eight of eight on third down to the eight yard line officially. I know they'll officially put it back at the nine. So once again, the offensive line for Midway gets the surge. It wants on the third and short. But their offensive line has been really, really good. And this has been interesting too because we were talking to the Midway announcers, David Swellke saying that they were returning only one of their offensive lineman from last year. Well, they've grown up quite a bit since their game against Leander Rouse last week. First and goal at the nine. [1:46:00] The give us to Fields Vaughn. He breaks a tackle gets inside the five keeps the legs churning and he's finally rustled down at about the four yard line. It's a pick up of five yards and quickly Midway wants to go out of the hurry up here. The bear cats have got to get set on the second and goal at the nine. It is another give to Fields Vaughn. He gets a couple of yards down to the two. So that'll bring a third and goal. Half the third quarter has run away here. Midway has had the ball since the beginning. Fields Vaughn gets drilled right in the back of the ball. [1:46:30] And the bear cats have it. He got popped and Blaine Fisher comes up with the turnover brought to you by our friends at Davidson Construction. Now there's a discussion between the officials of whether or not Fields Vaughn was down. The bear count offense. The pair got defense is still out there. The Midway offense is out there as well. So it looks like they're having this discussion. This Fort Worth crew. I think they're going to say that he was down and that the play was whistle. [1:47:01] Dead. No, they've didn't. Nope, they've changed their minds. It is a turnover the second of the night. The bear cats get the ball once again. They've stopped Midway for the second time inside their 10 yard line. And that is an officially again, a Davidson Construction turnover. Again want to welcome our new sponsor for turnover this year. It couldn't have picked a better time for that to happen as a huge hit in the backfield, which midway was going to run the same play in a row. That was going to be the fourth time in a row, they had run it. And finally the bear cats are able to get back there and stop it. [1:47:31] and force it turnover and they're absolutely desperately needing one. [1:47:34] Six minutes and ten seconds of clock time means nothing for the midway [1:47:38] offense now it's the bear cats turn. On a give-out on the outside it is a [1:47:41] wide-dorsi he gets to about the 15-yard line after a pick-up of six the [1:47:45] original line of scrimmage for the bear cats starting this [1:47:47] possession was at their nine Brady paint with the tackle for [1:47:53] Waco midway there but again a huge sigh of relief for the bear cats I just [1:47:57] said on the previous in this drive that really would be nice if they could [1:48:01] get a because if we could get a turnover here there's an injured [1:48:06] there's an injured player for midway that's one of their defensive lineman [1:48:09] Seiji Richards he was already questionable coming into this game with a [1:48:13] thumb injury but he's not dealing with a thumb he might be dealing with a cramp [1:48:16] because it's warm and muggy here not only outside but in this press box [1:48:22] there's no and there's no wind to speak of here at 10 Buchanan Stadium even [1:48:27] though this is pretty much an open air stadium we've been blessed here with no [1:48:30] air flow in our first two games and our two venues here but hey it's high [1:48:34] school football and so we're watching a game September and Texas it's not [1:48:38] going to be cool yeah pretty much to the sidelines in Mercedes I was going to [1:48:43] tell you all about another fun connection in this game which is the Clark [1:48:46] brothers Andy and Aaron Clark so Andy and are both coached here for quite a [1:48:50] while together Andy coaching the defensive line and Aaron coaching the [1:48:54] safeties and then Aaron and his babyly moved to central Texas and he is now [1:48:59] coaching for midway so it's the kind of the Clark Bowl here the defensive line [1:49:03] and safeties but they have played each other a couple times before as is the [1:49:07] case when you coach you sometimes move around and so they played each other [1:49:10] three times with Aaron at Everman and Andy at Crowley and Andy is one in two [1:49:16] against Aaron so he's hoping to even that tonight all right thanks Mercedes for [1:49:20] that yeah I was good to see them here tonight because they were such familiar [1:49:24] faces over the years second and four for the bear cats at their 15-yard line the [1:49:28] clock running again at 525 and counting it is a give over the left side by [1:49:36] Caden Palmquist the fullback this time his first rushing attempt of the night [1:49:40] and of the season he gets a short pickup of one to the 16-yard line very rare [1:49:45] that you'll see that but he's kind of like that Swiss army knife they're [1:49:48] gonna use them as a fullback they're gonna use them as a tight end they're [1:49:51] gonna use them as a wide receiver so he gets a yard on that carry third down and [1:49:58] call it three for the bear cats have to get to their 19-yard line after forcing [1:50:01] the second midway turnover of this game shotgun for Tray Williams there was a [1:50:06] penalty marker and I think the bear cats right side of the offensive line flinched [1:50:10] unfortunately it looked like that might have been Gavin Holt the right tackle who [1:50:13] lifted up too soon and so the bear cats are not backed up five and so instead of [1:50:18] facing third and three they're now facing third and eight at their 11 that's [1:50:23] unfortunate yeah especially in this part of the field you really like to see him [1:50:26] you know find a way to get this first down at least extend this drive you know [1:50:29] give the defensive chance to catch its breath if that long drive midway went on [1:50:34] and their possession right before this but you know they the last two times [1:50:37] they face a third long they've been able to find a way to convert so hopefully [1:50:40] they can do it again all right so third and eight blitz look here by midway here [1:50:44] two Williams who's gonna be pushed he does have time he fires up in the middle [1:50:48] passes caught and then drop by Caitlin here at the 28-yard line oh we had it and [1:50:53] a flag comes in late because there was a vicious hit that he took and I think [1:50:58] the bear cats are gonna get a first down on a flag against midway on the hit [1:51:02] there's three officials that are huddling up on this call flag came in at the [1:51:07] 30-yard line it can't had it in his hands and just couldn't corral it and then he [1:51:10] took a hit yeah and it looked like it was Helmett's which I think they're gonna call [1:51:14] here and you know can't almost had a chance to come down with it throw was off [1:51:20] target he's able to go get it and try to bring it in but you know that this [1:51:23] penalty looks like it might bail the bear cats out here a little bit well you [1:51:26] hope so this conversation's taken longer and sometimes I worry about the [1:51:29] longer this conversation takes the chances are that it could get waived off [1:51:33] neither unit is moving off the field if it is a penalty against midway then [1:51:39] Alito will be given 15 yards to the 26-yard line again there haven't been [1:51:43] many penalties in this ballgame two in this in this ballgame actually three in [1:51:48] this ballgame the bear cats have been penalized twice they just got penalized a [1:51:51] few moments ago but the only thing I'm concerned about here is if they [1:51:55] initially thought Helmett to Helmett and now they might be changing their [1:51:59] mind well what did you see and then what did you see do you think it was Helmett [1:52:02] to Helmett or is this is a long discussion here by Bill third or in his [1:52:05] crew you're saying no penalty yeah they're saying no penalty okay I was and I [1:52:12] was kind of I was worried about that the longer this went on I'm like this [1:52:15] doesn't sound good and so the potential Helmett to Helmett penalty is wiped [1:52:21] off and so the paragats are gonna have to punt here as Blake Hood will be [1:52:24] standing in his end zone and they got to be careful here now we don't the bear [1:52:27] cats is doing good job of punning but there's been a couple times where Hood has [1:52:30] barely gotten the punt off maybe it can look like the wake wake of midways about to [1:52:34] come after this one try to block it Carl Simmons waits at the Alito 48-yard line [1:52:39] and the pun is away and that nearly got blocked it's high and it will be caught [1:52:42] with a fair catch at the Alito 46-yard line that'll be a 35-yard punt for the [1:52:49] bear cats again the hang time helps the bear cats cover Junup but the field [1:52:55] position does not because Midway will start in Alito territory with 424 to play [1:53:00] midway 21 Alito 14 here in game number two of the 2026 season home opener here [1:53:06] at Tim Buchanan Stadium yeah and the only time Alito's defense has been able to [1:53:10] stop Midway's offense is on turnovers outside of the one possession in the [1:53:14] first half of it is needed to run the timeout other than that they've they've [1:53:17] wake up middle has been able to find the in zone so this is gonna be a big [1:53:20] series here you got to keep him out starting on your side of the field and it'll [1:53:23] be a throw in the past is in complete off the hands of Aidan Solis it was a [1:53:30] little bit high they were a little bit antsy on that play and rushing in was [1:53:34] Cooper Hall from his safety position on that he he had a beat on that he did a [1:53:38] nice job though of of a spine Aidan Solis and it kind of making him uncomfortable [1:53:43] on that so second down at 10 yeah it would be great if the bear cats could get [1:53:47] a three dot sometimes the second first sometimes Alito's first down defense has [1:53:52] been pretty good because we've seen several second and longs here for Midway's [1:53:56] offense like now second and ten and they had a couple of second and longs on [1:53:59] their first possession of this third quarter strictly to throw he causes on [1:54:03] number he will run up the field he's got five he's got ten in a first down and [1:54:07] he's finally tackled that about the Alito 30 yard line that's a pick up of [1:54:11] 16 yards and a first down there good call by the Midway coaching staff there as [1:54:16] Strickland calls his own number for 16 yeah it's just a you know they hadn't [1:54:20] seen that really much tonight and taking off on a draw like that but you know [1:54:24] they said it drops back the passage been killing Alito all night and the [1:54:28] the line just opened up a huge hole right at the middle he's able to take it [1:54:31] by foot for a first down and you know starting to threaten again here getting [1:54:35] right at the 30 yard line this Midway offensive line is 255 to 80 to 40 to [1:54:40] 35 to 40 not huge but they've been pretty effective tonight here keeping [1:54:44] the chains moving here wisdom ten on the carry and he slashes over to the [1:54:48] left side and he gets about three maybe four yards to about the Alito 27 [1:54:53] yard line he's closing in on 100 yards on the night and it'll be a second down [1:54:57] and seven coming up for the pan [1:55:00] Panthers here. Bearcats will play their third and final non-district game next week over in the mid-sities at Pennington Field in Bedford against the Ulyss Trinity Trojans. It'll be a 630 start on 92.1 Hank FM with the pre-game show and then the kickoff at 7 o'clock, first ever meeting between the Bearcats and the Trojans. Ball is spotted inside the 27-yard line for Midway in Aledo territory. Play clock getting away at 4-3, but the snap has away in plenty of time. [1:55:31] They give up the middle to Field's Von, the other running back, but he actually loses a couple yards back to the 29, so that's a loss to 2.3, and 9 just where Midway wants you because they haven't missed on 3rd down tonight. If you're Aledo defense, you have to expect they're going to attack you on the outside edge with the receiver, watch a double move, watch that they've burned Aledo on several times tonight. You've got to have safety help over the top until the defense proves you that they can slow this down. [1:56:00] Jacobi Hamilton is split out near the Aledo sideline. He's going against the junior Elijah Mangrum who's impressed coverage against him. 3rd and a long night, snap gets away from Strickland. He will throw it away and for the first time tonight, the Bearcats are able to get Midway to fail to convert on 3rd down Strickland through it away and the official does drop the flag at the 41-yard line. [1:56:27] The coaching staff was adamant because he didn't throw to a receiver in the area and he was outside the pocket. It's also a loss of yards on that play which is dropped at the 41-yard line. It's also a loss of down, so it makes it 4th down. [1:56:44] You would think of punting situation here for Midway, but maybe not. We'll see. They haven't taken the offense off the field now they do. [1:56:56] Aledo will finally go into the return formation. Cooper Hull will go back deep. The punter for Midway is boost of money. They're kicker as well. He will stand as 45-yard line with the clock at 2-13 to play here in the 3rd quarter. [1:57:15] Hull stands at his 10-yard line. Right footer gets it away. Twisting kick. Hull will make the fair catch at around the Aledo 12-yard line and so that's where Aledo will start. With 2-07 to play here in our 3rd quarter, 21-14, Midway leads. They have spent most of this half with the ball and most of this half in Aledo territory, but no scoring so far in this quarter where the Bearcats were able to create a turnover inside their 10-yard line. [1:57:49] He's got to stop inside their 25. The bad snap led to Strickland trying to get rid of the ball quickly there and thankfully Aledo had brought a blitz off that right side. He really forced the issue where he just tries to throw the ball. [1:58:00] He never left the pocket. The ball didn't cross the line as crimmage. That's pretty easy call for the officials to call that intentional grounding. [1:58:07] Wildcat formation for Izzy Roberts. He's trying to cut it up, Phil, which he does. Cuts it to the 30-25-30. Run in him to go. 40-45-52 to mid to beat. If he can win the race, 30-25-20. [1:58:18] Finally dragged down inside the 15-yard line in Midway territory to about the 14-yard line. 74-yard. [1:58:29] Izzy Roberts on the Wildcat and the Bearcats are in business. [1:58:34] What a play there by Izzy Roberts. He's able to make a man miss who's meeting him in the seagab there. [1:58:38] He made one guy miss and from there it was a foot race to the pylon. He was able to flip the field for Aledo. [1:58:44] He goes to show how big that penalty was getting the Midway Panthers off the field and giving the Bearcats a chance. [1:58:49] They'll actually spot it at the nine-yard line. So first and goal. Here comes Roberts again with a little bit of a hole that that closes quickly as making the tackle as Sloan Blackwell in one of the secondary members. [1:59:04] It's only a yard pickup. So the Bearcats first and goal at the nine. They get one on the first down carry here as we are into the final 90 seconds of this third quarter. [1:59:14] Midway 21-014 but the Bearcats threatening to try and get the tying score. [1:59:24] Longest play of scrimmage for the Bearcats this year for Izzy. And he will work out of the Wildcat. He will try and get to the outside, tries to beat to the corner but he's not going to do that. [1:59:36] He will drag down for a loss. Great job there by Caden Bird. He lost seven yards on that. Bird had that thing strung out and he just ripped him down there for a loss. [1:59:45] They are starting to get a little bit of a key when they go to the Wildcat. Bearcats are really wanting to press it to the outside. That time Midway did a good job of not letting Bearcats set the edge over there and really forcing everything back inside. [1:59:58] There is nowhere for Roberts to go and there is huge loss there. [2:00:01] Third and 15. Third and goal at the 15 yard line. [2:00:08] Amari Dindaud checks in at the right tackle. We talked about that he would probably come in here in these red zone situations here. Williams to throw, throws to the side pass as Copmanics and breaks the tackle. [2:00:18] He will not break a second as he gets back to near what was the original line of scrimmage on the goal line situation there as he gets seven yards back to the eight yard line. [2:00:29] Alito will be lining up to kick a field goal you would think here as Hudson Parks will come out. He is late coming out but Alito doesn't have to hurry here because the third quarter is about to run out. [2:00:42] So the Bearcats, when we start the fourth quarter on the other side of this break are looking to kick a field goal of about 25 yards and we'll bring it to you here. [2:00:55] After this fourth and final coming up it is Waco Midway 21 and Alito 14 back after this time out. [2:01:01] This is Coach Jones of the 12 time Texas State Champion Alito Bearcats. [2:02:02] Pre-80s 90s and 2000s KGFW Glenrose Grandberry 92.1 Hank FM [2:02:14] We start the platinum collision of Willow Park 4th quarter with the Bearcats lining up to kick a 25-yard field goal off the right foot of Hudson Parks. [2:02:22] His first field goal attempt of the year Bearcats down 21 to 14 and now we got whistles in a flag. [2:02:28] I think the Bearcats were lifting up too quickly and they were and so this 25-yard field goal now becomes a 30-yard attempt. [2:02:37] Fourth penalty of the night on the Bearcats or third rather. [2:02:42] 79-yard run officially for Izzy Roberts set them up on a first and goal at the 9 but unfortunately it went backwards. [2:02:51] Now they're going to settle for this 30-yard field goal with the ball on the right hash for the right footed Hudson Parks. [2:02:58] Again his first field goal attempt of the year snap placement kick on the way and hits the upright and bounces off and it's no good. [2:03:08] The Bearcats are turned away again. We welcome into this fourth quarter. [2:03:32] Third quarter stats through three quarters the Bearcats with 11 first downs midway with 10 the Bearcats have rushed for 239 yards midway has rushed for 129 yards passing yards in the ballgame Alito with 80 midway with 174 total yards in Alito's favor 319 to midways 303. [2:03:52] The Panthers will start at their 20-yard line following the missed field goal and the give us over the left sides to look like it was Jaden fields on that fields Von Rennfield's Von on that carry he gets a short maybe about a few looks like he got a yard to the 20 what yard line he got a foot beyond the 20 yard on but he officially gets one but it's a long nine coming back there is a ninja midway player down one of their offensive lineman here. [2:04:18] Remind you that the Titan Redemix post game show comes your way following the conclusion of tonight's ballgame which is 11 and minutes and 42 seconds away will have our players of the game will also get a comment Robbie Jones following this game and then a statistical report and then we'll have our play of the game. [2:04:34] We have we have more to choose from this week than we did last week thankfully which is nice and then we'll also have our scoring recap and of course the decons out of whack stat. [2:04:46] And then a reminder to again about the Alito coaches show podcast which will be on the road for the first time this week it'll be over at Polito's right off of ranch house road a six o'clock start earlier start than our normal seven o'clock start. [2:05:00] Because of Labor Day weekend. So Robbie Jones and a couple of his players will be joining us and then starting on March 14th. [2:05:07] Excuse me, why did I say March? September 14th, the end of the football season. We will be at JD's right off of the Camp Bowie, which is again about a half a mile west of the Honda dealership. The player [2:05:30] is coming up on the, look like he might have gotten a knee to knee contact on that play there to fields of on that was a one for about a foot. So he's helped off the field under his own power. So all good there. So we'll see if he can return. [2:05:45] Bearcats are back on deepest, faking this second down in about nine and a half. Shotgun for Strickland with backs to either side. [2:05:53] Two receivers to the near side pocket will roll to the right for Strickland. He will throw the passes caught by Kane and he's pushed out of bounds at about the 24 yard. [2:06:03] Elijah Mangram, who's really been getting a lot of burn here in the second half, makes the play. So it's now a third down and six at the 24 clock stops with 11 minutes, 30 seconds to play. [2:06:13] Yeah, that's time. Spurn up past Strickland is able to find Marcus Kane up there on the outside. You know, Lido is going with this approach of the bend. Don't break out there. [2:06:23] They're really trying to prevent getting deep, which has been kind of the main issue this season. So far, the explosive plays and giving these receivers a lot of cushion out there on the outside. [2:06:33] Strickland has not been sack, but it would be nice if they can get one here, but he will not be sacked and he will throw and it's complete to Jacobi Hamilton, who's been the go to receiver tonight. [2:06:41] He does get right to the first down marker at the 30 yard line. And that is the first down for the Panthers and they will move the sticks. [2:06:48] That's the small of the same, you know, they're just getting free releases out there on the outside to the first down sticks. It makes a really easy process for Strickland to find the open receiver standing at the first down. He's able to hit him, picks up the first down. [2:07:00] And that's really been the story of the night. They've been able to continue to move the sticks by getting free releases and not getting a lot of press back from the Lido defense on those certain down plays. [2:07:09] Alright, so first and 10 for the Panthers at their 30 yard line. They lead a Lido by a touchdown, no scoring in the second half. All of it in the first half. [2:07:18] It is going to be a give over the left side to fields Von. He's got running him across the 35. The ball came out at the 33 yard line and the bear can't say they've got it. And there's still no official indication. [2:07:29] Now there is and it is a Lido football at the 33 yard line. The third Davidson construction turnover of the night. [2:07:38] And Jordan Hall, the great play there on the outside is able to come in there. Knock the ball loose. The Lido recovers. And you know, it's a very critical time here late in the ball game. [2:07:47] Down the score. They got to get the ball back. Find a way to slow this offense down and for the third time to not be able to force a turnover. [2:07:53] Get the ball of the offense on the offense. It's getting the ball in midway territory has got to finish this one and put this in the end zone point blank range. If you will for the bear cats first and 10 at the midway 33 yard line following the third turnover that the bear cats defense has forced on this night. [2:08:09] Williams will work out of the shock and he'll roll the pocket of the left wants to throw a little dumps it over the top and passes caught by Kane linear gets a first down inside the 20 down to about the ball came out to but it went out of bounds. [2:08:22] Fortunately for the bear cats that would have been disastrous to right after they just collected the turnover but it is a pick up of 12 yards and I think Manic's nurse was quickly on that to help at least escorted out a bounce it's a bull goose construction first down. [2:08:36] And it's first in 10 for a little at the midway 21 yard line and actually the clock stops at 10.41 to play to receivers to the far side tight end is Colby to the left side it is going to be a give to wide Dorsi tries to break it outside. [2:08:51] Now cuts it up in the middle toward the outside hash market suit about the 15 yard line and it's a pick up of maybe six yards for a wide Dorsi on that play. [2:09:01] Yeah I mean did a good job of getting to the edge that really didn't look like you'd be able to go anywhere but you know you had really good patients are able to finally get around to the edge there the good job of [2:09:10] the Alito offensive line that right side to get into the second level you would get something positive here on first down now the bear cats down to the 15 or threatening. [2:09:19] I'm already didn't do checks in at right tackle for the bear cats again in this red zone situation throwing out to the left passes caught came linear running [2:09:27] run interim breaks the tackle gets down to about the 10 yard line it is a first down for the bear cats a first and goal at the 10 yard line that first down brought to you by bull goose concrete finishing and epoxy and the bear cats have a first and goal at the 10 yard line for [2:09:42] trade Williams tonight he is seven of 15 for 74 yards and of course that touchdown pass to Maddox Nurs it on the first and goal to give us to Dorsi up the middle tries to lower his head in the middle. [2:09:57] Lower his head and he gets some decent. [2:10:00] Ben Yard, a jade of it, maybe dad about the seven, six and a half yard line. I think they're going to officially call it the seven yard line, but he gets to the seven. Remember, the Bearcats got down to the nine yard line just a few moments ago. Then they went backwards and unfortunately they came away with nothing on the missed field goal so hopefully they can find Paidard here. An opportunity to tie once again. The momentum clearly in the orange and white side right now. Second and goal at the seven. It is a give to Izzy Roberts up the middle. [2:10:30] Touchdown, Aledo Bearcats. Seven yards for Izzy Roberts. His first touchdown of the night and of the season and the Bearcats an extra point away from tying this up. Really good job there up front. The interior three offensive line. They did a really good job getting Izzy Roberts pass the line of scrimmage. He's able to go untouched in the end zone. Huge answer there. Great job. The defense of getting the offensive ball back, swinging the momentum back towards the Bearcats and then the offense going and capitalizing and finishing the drive. [2:11:00] It went brought to you by your local sports clips off the right leg of Hudson Parks is good and we will start over with nine minutes and one second to play brand new ball game. Aledo 21 and Waco Midway 21 back after this time out. Hello, this is Pastor Clark Mosher. I am the pastor of the Willapart Baptist Church, which is located at seven, seven, seven Crown Point Boulevard in Willapart, Texas. We believe that Jesus Christ can make a difference in your life and in the life of your family. I'd like to take this off. [2:11:32] I'd like to thank you for your opportunity to personally invite you and your family to attend one of our Sunday morning services at 830 or 10 and again that evening at 5 p.m. For more information, visit our website www.WillapartBab just.org. Willapart Baptist Church. We are at church on an eternal mission. [2:12:02] The Miser or the Donics kickoff is a pooch kick from Hudson Parks and it's going to be fair caught around the 28 hour line and so that's where Midway will start its next offensive series. The CSD West granite and flooring drives the way. [2:12:33] The Baircats have been in the summer for the Baircats to tie this game and the Baircats convert off the turnover. Seven plays, 33 yards. The Izzy Roberts, seven yard touchdown run. Extra point was good. 148. Off the clock and the Baircats dead even with the Panthers at 21. Clearly the momentum with them, Kyle Hicks. [2:12:51] The defense got to continue to find ways to get this team off the field. Tonight, primarily that way has been turnovers and they can keep doing that for another nine minutes. They'll be able to give themselves a chance to come out on top of this one. [2:13:21] He's at about 109 for the night so Midway answers on that long carry. It is interesting the way Joe Gillespie uses these two running backs. You would think a guy like Wysenton will be like a 2025 carry guy and then Fields von will get about maybe seven to eight, 10 or whatever but it's really been balanced between these two. Vaughn actually has more carries. He has 12 and Wysenton has 10. [2:13:45] I think the issue has been the heat. I've seen Wysenton run off a couple times. I think he looks like he's getting some cramps. I think that's more to do with the thing. [2:13:53] Ball is dropped by Strickland and he is tackled in the backfield by Max Forman. Second time Strickland has had a problem with the snap and the loss goes all the way back to the 35 yard line and it'll bring up now a second and 18 at the 35 yard line here. [2:14:10] Actually they're going to call it a 10 yard loss back to the 33 yard line so even better for the bear cats. They're having some trouble figuring out where they want to spot this one. [2:14:22] Another self inflicted wound there for Midway the bear cats will happily take there. You know, Court Strickland not able to handle the snap once again. [2:14:30] They're doing a good job of getting back there and forcing down. Now put it in second very long. For the first time we're seeing the third running back in this Midway offense and that's Raylen Richmond. [2:14:39] He's a sophomore. He's in the ballgame. He stands to the left of Strickland on the second down and call it 18. They officially spotted at the 35 yard line. [2:14:47] The pass is well short and there was a miscommunication between Strickland and Marcus Cain because Cain was still running up the near sideline and the ball was out to the far side and it fell [2:14:57] farmlessly and complete around the 43. Yeah, Cain thought they were taking a shot there. He was running down the sideline and Strickland obviously was on a different page from him. [2:15:05] Now Alito, you're third in a mile here. You got to find a way to mouth the field in this instance. [2:15:10] Mari Dimboo comes off here. He's going to be replaced by land and belt here on this third down and call it 18 here for Midway the bear cats with a golden opportunity to get a three and out thanks to the [2:15:22] this handled snap on first down. [2:15:26] The clock at just under eight second, [2:15:28] eight minutes to play, Strickland to throw. [2:15:30] Has time, now a little pressure. [2:15:31] He wants it all for Marcus Cainin. [2:15:34] It's just beyond Cain's reach. [2:15:36] It goes incomplete. [2:15:37] He was between Cooper Hall and Elijah Memgram [2:15:42] and Midway will be have to put, [2:15:45] and now we got a late flag that came in [2:15:46] because of some joy in coming in here between both sides. [2:15:50] And if that's gonna go against Alito, [2:15:52] that's gonna keep the Midway offense on the field. [2:15:55] Let's hope that's not the case, [2:15:56] but the flag was dropped because there was more John going on [2:16:00] and Max Forman is raising his arms, saying, [2:16:03] I didn't say anything, but apparently he said the wrong thing [2:16:06] because Midway's gonna keep this ball [2:16:08] and a huge mistake for the Alito defense. [2:16:10] You gotta be smarter than that. [2:16:12] I mean, frankly, you do. [2:16:13] You cannot give them a chance to keep this. [2:16:15] You finally get him off the field. [2:16:16] You get a third. [2:16:18] And so they're calling roughing the passer on Max Forman, [2:16:21] which is a late hit. [2:16:22] I mean, that's an unfortunate sequence there. [2:16:25] Extends a strike when he had him getting off the field [2:16:28] with only seven minutes left in his ballgame. [2:16:29] All right, well, I was tracking the ball in the ball. [2:16:33] Yeah, I didn't say it. [2:16:34] It was beyond Cain, so unfortunately, [2:16:37] the referee's job is to look for that just in case [2:16:40] in Bill Theodore. [2:16:40] I did see that. [2:16:41] So a 15-yard walkoff puts it at midfield on a first in 10 [2:16:45] and it is a give over the left side [2:16:46] and nothing doing there is time and mix, [2:16:49] rips down Raylen Richmond for no gain. [2:16:53] He might have even lost about a foot. [2:16:55] Yeah, and the elite defense is put in attitude now too, [2:16:58] which we did not see in the first half, [2:16:59] especially in that interior. [2:17:00] There being more physical than we saw in the first half [2:17:02] and it really started to get in the backfield, [2:17:03] which is a nice change of pace [2:17:05] from what we saw in the first and second quarter. [2:17:08] It's on that penalty so unfortunate because you're right, [2:17:10] because midway's offensive line had really started [2:17:13] to was dominating for about the first two and a half quarters [2:17:16] and then that turnover inside the 10-yard line [2:17:18] on their opening position in the third quarter [2:17:20] kind of changed things here. [2:17:21] Second down and call it a long 10 short 11 [2:17:24] and we got some movement along the right side. [2:17:26] I think that's Charles Haas, the right guard who lifted up. [2:17:30] Got some a little bit of if you will, [2:17:31] some emotions, some composure things going on here [2:17:33] on both teams right now. [2:17:34] Yeah, I got walked off. [2:17:35] Which is a welcome sight [2:17:36] because last week it was pretty flat. [2:17:37] We felt like for the most part [2:17:39] and the start of this game kind of seemed like, [2:17:40] okay, well here we go again, [2:17:41] but now you're seeing a lot of energy on the field [2:17:44] from the elite defense and your plan was some passion. [2:17:46] It was going to be in physical, which, you know, [2:17:48] that's a way to create turnovers, [2:17:50] which is what we've seen really start to happen here [2:17:52] later in this ballgame. [2:17:53] Five-yard penalty puts it at the 44-yard line here [2:17:55] as the clock rolls inside seven minutes in this fourth quarter, [2:17:59] brought to you by platinum collision of Willow Park. [2:18:02] So second and 15, [2:18:04] Bearcats shift their front four. [2:18:06] Snap goes back to Strickland. [2:18:07] He has time now. [2:18:08] He's being pressured and he will throw out to the left side [2:18:10] and two orange jerseys are there to make the tackle [2:18:13] for a one-yard pick up there. [2:18:14] So a great closing job by the Bearcats on that [2:18:17] for just a short pick up that pass was caught by [2:18:21] midway's Sloan Blackwell. [2:18:25] So it's now third and 14. [2:18:28] The Bearcats had him here in this spot just a few moments ago [2:18:30] and had him off the field [2:18:32] but the unfortunate rough in the passer penalty. [2:18:35] Yeah, and last time there in this position, [2:18:37] Kane was actually running past the elite defense. [2:18:39] They just weren't able to connect [2:18:40] he and Quirk Strickland. [2:18:41] So you got to keep them from beating you [2:18:43] over the top in these situations. [2:18:45] Midway has missed its last two-third down attempts. [2:18:48] Nine of 11, third and 14 here have to get [2:18:50] to the Elite O-40 Strickland to throw. [2:18:52] Has time now pressured fires over the middle. [2:18:55] The pass is gonna be caught. [2:18:56] That's a heck of a grab there by Marcus Kane [2:18:59] as he got to the inside of Cooper Hall [2:19:01] and he makes the grab to about the 34-yard line. [2:19:04] Maybe make it the 33-yard line. [2:19:06] It's a pick up of 21 yards. [2:19:07] That's just a tip your cat played to Marcus Kane. [2:19:10] Yeah, it was just a great job by Marcus Kane. [2:19:12] He's able to get into the secondary, [2:19:14] then go up and get a contested ball there. [2:19:17] It's a good throw by Quirk Strickland. [2:19:18] He delivers it, we're only his guy can get it [2:19:20] and Kane makes a really good play going up [2:19:21] and putting the ball inside a Lido territory here [2:19:24] with the closing minutes of this ballgame. [2:19:26] Yeah, the clock becoming a factor here, [2:19:27] five and a half minutes to play. [2:19:29] Both teams have all three of their timeouts [2:19:31] and keep in mind the two-minute timeout [2:19:33] that will come in this period. [2:19:36] On a first and 10, [2:19:37] they give us to Wizenton up the middle [2:19:38] and he is spilled right at the line of scrimmage [2:19:40] after a pick up of only one. [2:19:44] Cole Cox made the stop for the barricades. [2:19:46] As he got him on his ankles on that [2:19:48] and tripped him up second down and nine coming up. [2:19:50] Boy, you can see where that, [2:19:51] that rough in the passer panel, [2:19:53] just a few moments ago, really looms large. [2:19:56] It just kills a killer. [2:19:57] And yeah, it's in the drive [2:19:58] and they give it find a way. [2:20:00] You know, you're going to look back tomorrow and be sick. That's what caused it. So you just got to be smart. When these situations with the game is this tight, you can't out afford mistakes like that to extend drives and that's exactly what happened. Well, does the Aledo defense have the ability to create a four turnover? We'll find out. Second down to nine. Wysenton remains the running back and he will get the carry with running room breaks a tackle at the 25 and he spins his way forward to the 20 yard line. It's a pick up of 12 and another first down for the Midway Panthers. And they are really good. [2:20:30] They're working deliberately here. They are in no hurry because they've got a long fuel goal attempt in their pocket if they wanted. So we got a clarification. It actually was a dead ball on sportsmen like conduct, not a rough in the passer penalty on Aledo on that third down play. I only I wondered about that because of Max Foreman raising up his hands, but unfortunately, got to keep playing. Give us to Wysenton up the middle and he just kind of dives forward for about three, maybe four yards. [2:21:08] We are now under four minutes to play here in this game. Aledo 21, Waco Midway 21, but the Panthers driving for the Goa head score here in the red zone. 9th play of the possession coming up. Yeah, and you know, you can expect Waco Midway to continue to feed Wysenton the ball right now. I mean, they're in no hurry. They've got three and a half minutes. They're tied up here. If they can run the rest of this clock out and put the ball in the end zone, I mean, that's ball game. So Aledo is going to have to fall back. [2:21:37] Aledo is going to have to find a way to get a turnover, something to get them where they can get out of here and save some time and get themselves a chance. [2:21:44] Bearcats showing a blitz and then Wysenton takes the carry and he strips a tackle breaks a tackle at 10 and he will easily walk into the end zone down the sideline for a 16 yard touchdown. [2:21:53] Midway retakes the lead at 27, 21. [2:21:57] They've done a lot better this half of that time. It's just on the edge. There really wasn't a lot of pushback over there. [2:22:04] There's more of a walk in, not a lot of resistance over there on that right side of the field. [2:22:08] Now Aledo is off in a find a way to get in the end zone and try to tie this up. [2:22:13] So the extra point coming from boost to Monday to make this a seven point game. [2:22:21] Snap placement kick on the way and it is good. [2:22:24] It's three minutes and 15 seconds and three timeouts to work with along with the two minute timeout for this Aledo offense coming back. [2:22:30] We're back after 30 seconds. You're listening to Aledo Bearcats football on Hank FM. [2:22:34] It's time to drive a new Chevy. [2:23:15] Midway has retaken the lead here at 28-21 with three minutes and 15 seconds to play here in the fourth quarter. [2:23:21] A reminder, the Titan Red and Mix post-game show comes your way next. [2:23:25] Have our players of the game and interview with head coach Robbie Jones, a statistical breakdown. [2:23:29] And of course, our plays of the game are play of the game for the Bearcats here. [2:23:33] But they got to do something now. It's now or never for them as they trail by a touchdown. [2:23:42] I mean, you think about it, missed opportunities. [2:23:44] Of course, Midway can implement the fact that they turned it over twice inside the Aledo 30-Arland. [2:23:49] And once inside the 10 and once inside the 20-Arland, of course, their third turnover was on their side of the field. [2:23:54] Bearcats have a kickoff return called back because of a penalty and then they had the missed field goal, too. [2:24:01] Kick is high and it is being fielded by Cooper Hall across the 30 and he's thrown forward. [2:24:09] I always love those tackles when you're thrown forward for extra yardage. [2:24:12] You gain about four yards in the time. [2:24:14] Yeah, exactly. He gets 17 on the return to his hole and so the Bearcats will set up shop at their 34-Arland. [2:24:22] Again, three minutes and 10 seconds to play the Bearcats with all three of their timeouts. [2:24:26] Quickly, the CSG, West Granite and Floring drive summary for Midway to retake the lead, nine plays, 71 yards. [2:24:33] The Wysenton 16-yard touchdown run, his second of the night. [2:24:36] Again, the back breaking on sportsmen like Conduct penalty when Aledo had Midway off the field on an incomplete penalty. [2:24:43] He had a full-on on an incomplete pass on 3rd and 15, but the referee saw it and that wasn't good. [2:24:48] They're going to run quarterback keeper there by Eli Pinnick as they run a little run game out of the QB position there in Pinnick. [2:24:55] We'll get about seven yards to the 41-yard line. [2:24:58] You still can run a lot of your stuff because of what you have time outwise and you're still in your own position in the field where you can still operate that. [2:25:06] Yeah, I mean, you still got three timeouts plus the two minute timeout as well. [2:25:10] So you got you got plenty of time here to kind of just keep your offense away. [2:25:14] You want it here, but you do got to be mindful of the clock and you got to try to get some chunk plays here when possible. [2:25:19] They're getting a flag is down. They're going to get an offside spin on the on Midway as the past is caught by Mattics Nurse from Eli Pinnick at the 30-yard line in Midway territory. [2:25:28] They were going to it was a free play in Pinnick. Let it go and Mattics Nurse kept his eyes on it and made a fabulous catch of 30 yards for a bull goose construct. [2:25:39] First down on the Bearcats are in business at the Midway 29. [2:25:44] Really good job by Mattics Nurse, you know, creating a little separation there just to give himself enough space to catch up ball. [2:25:49] I really good job by trade William standing in the pocket. No, he's about to get hit. [2:25:52] He stands in there delivers a catchable ball down the field for a big play for the Bearcats offense. [2:25:57] Is he Roberts is the running back and he will get the carry on first down. [2:26:00] He bounces it to the outside now takes it inside the 25 for about a four-yard pick up there. [2:26:07] Bearcats are over 200 yards rushing tonight. The clock running at 2.15. [2:26:14] They can run another play if they want to or they don't have to but they are coming up on the two-minute timeout. [2:26:20] If I think if you're a little you do want to get one more play run off if you can. [2:26:23] Just don't be too much about hurry. They do get it off. They give us two Roberts and he tries to bounce it outside and he will at least push forward to about the right back to the original line of scrimmage to the 25-yard line. [2:26:36] And that will take us to the two-minute timeout. The Bearcats face a third down and five coming up. [2:26:42] We'll be right back after this 30-second timeout. [2:27:18] Let's go, let's go. Ready, sprint. You're listening to Alito Bearcats football on 92.1 HNKF. [2:27:27] Kevin Longquist and Kyle Hicks here in the NTX varsity sports.com broadcast booth. The Deacon gives us the big positive note that the Bearcats are two of nine on third down. [2:27:38] They face a third down and six at the wake of midway 25. [2:27:43] So you're telling others to change. [2:27:45] And so this is for the Bearcats here. Now they have all three timeouts. Of course, this two-minute timeout, which is technically serves as the fourth timeout because you have all three. [2:27:54] Midway has all three of its timeouts. So it's kind of an interesting strategy here. Of course, if you're the Bearcats, you need to get this first down first. [2:28:02] Yeah. I mean, you've got to essentially you have two downs here to get this first down. I mean, you're going to have to keep the offense on the field the way this game has gone to try to get the points here. [2:28:12] Nursing Lanier, the receivers to the far side, they're going to run it to Dorsi to the outside and he's going to wind up losing a yard back to the 26th yard line. That running play had nowhere to go from the outset. [2:28:23] And so now it's fourth down in the game essentially coming up. The Bearcats says Alito burns its first time out with 151 to play here. [2:28:32] Yeah, there's one. A lot of I just seem like there was this. There wasn't, you know, any explosives is forward there. [2:28:39] There's just really kind of just waiting in the backfield for something to happen and no, no lane ever appeared in the hit for the loss there. [2:28:46] It's just a huge, huge loss there. I'm down now. It's fourth and got to have it here. It's about six yards to go and to extend your chance here to get this game tied up. You got to convert in this situation. [2:28:57] Well, they love the drama. I remember they've had fourth down opportunities twice and they've converted them both. So let's make it. I mean, if Midway can be so darn good on third down. [2:29:05] So why can't the Bearcats be darn good on fourth down? You know, if you can do it, I mean, I mean, you can make you can share it around folks. [2:29:12] And so but the Bearcats have to get to the 19 yard line here in Midway territory. This is the game essentially for the Bearcats as Williams will line up in the shotgun at the 31 yard line in Midway territory. [2:29:27] It's your receivers to the far side tied in just to the left pocket for Williams. He would throw to the left side and it is incomplete. [2:29:35] I'm not really sure what the communication was there. I think nurse was the intended receiver, but somebody broke off the route and the pass was too high. [2:29:43] And it was never a chance for it to be caught. It was pretty much just a overthrown ball. And the Bearcats turn it over on down. [2:29:50] And that's disappointing. You know, it's a gotta have a moment here and you know, you're not on the same page. That's, you know, that comes back to you know the early season here. [2:29:58] You gotta get on the... [2:30:00] He's got the same page with your receivers. You got a chance there where he was starting if there was nobody in the area. So where he was expecting somebody would have been good. But you know, don't convert here. Now you got a minute 47. You only got two time outs left and a couple first down here. And that'll be ballgame here for Midway. Okay. So first in 10 for Midway at its 26 yard line. If the Bearcats are, they're only able to stop it twice. But one first down ends this thing for Midway leading the Bearcats 20 years. [2:30:30] 28-21. And here's the give to Whisenton up the middle and he will get about two, maybe three yards, maybe three to the 20. And they're going to give him the 28. So it's only a two yard pickup on that. So it's second down and eight. And the Bearcats are going to keep leading the clock run. And Midway's okay with that. I think what the Bearcats want to do perhaps is just stop it on second and third down. Now with the play clock at 20. This play will be run with about a minute to go in the game. [2:31:00] And then the Bearcats will have to tighten it up here. So there are no hurry. Of course, at the 28, Bearcats have to come up with something miraculous here to get the ball back. [2:31:15] The give is up the middle to Whisenton. He's got some running room. He's near the first down marker. He doesn't have it. But Elijah Mammogram makes the stop for the Bearcats. And it's now third down and a yard. And the Bearcats have not called their second time out. [2:31:32] Yet the clock continues to run at 45. So the idea here is if you can stop him here, you call your time out, you force a punt. And then you got you'll have you're not left with much time here. [2:31:43] Have about under 20 seconds. That's you got to call it now. You're kind of in prison here, too, just from a standpoint of when you use your timeouts because if you use them now, you're if you had three time outs. You would have been easy just being being called a call call a mall. But if you don't, then your stuff's like a free time. [2:32:00] But then we got a timeout called by midway here. So a little bit of a break up for the Bearcats with the clock stopping at 17 seconds. [2:32:09] Which really that was of a smart by midway because you let that clock run down all that way. You can come time out now. It'll be third down again. So you know, you're still going to force the leader to have it. [2:32:22] You're going to get to run some more time off the clock here. And force the leader to use that last time out and put it and make them go the distance of the field and just, you know, under 20 seconds. [2:32:30] Well, as much as this looks in doubt for the Bearcats, we can obviously see the improvement from last week against an excellent North Crowley team to a team that's pretty much on their level and wake up midway here. Just a couple of things that didn't work out for the Bearcats. And so again, this is a season where it's just going to be a lot of growing pains. It's going to be a really difficult assignment next week over in Bedford against Ulyst Trinity here. But again, the Bearcats have got a hope for a miracle here on this third and short. [2:32:57] The Panthers only need about a half a yard on this. And this is the difference of the game. Wake old midways 10 out of 12 on third down. And it'll be a give to Wysenton. And he breaks the tackle gets the first down across the 40. And he'll take the if you will, the slide to end the ballgame here because wake old midway doesn't have to run another play. [2:33:17] The clock stops because of the first down with nine seconds. But wake old midway doesn't have to run another play. And this ballgame will be over. So the Titan Redemix postgame show will come your way next. [2:33:28] They will have to have one more snap. They will have to take unless Alito did burn their second unless they're good. [2:33:37] Yeah, but they don't still don't have to they still don't have to they still don't have to run a play here. And they don't and the clock is at zero zero zero. That's the end of the ballgame here in Eastern Parker County. Home openers come to a close. Bearcats come up short. [2:33:52] But things looked a little bit better here again. A growing pain season. And that's just the way it goes. Final score here at Tim Buchanan Stadium. Wake old midway 28 and Alito 21 back with the Titan Redemix postgame show following these messages. [2:37:15] Wish we had better news for you for the Bearcats, but they fall to 0-2, falling to the wake-o midway panthers by a score of 28-21, Kevin Law and Quistan Kyle Hicks here. [2:37:39] A lot of improvement from game 1 to game 2, it's still not perfect where it needs to be, but this is life in Class 6A and the Bearcats, couple of mistakes, just really prove costly here in this 28-21 Laws. [2:37:51] It's rare you see a team win the turnover margin plus 3 and lose the ball game. [2:37:57] That's what happened. They did offensively, they started making some plays. The offense did look light years better than it did last week. [2:38:05] Then you look at the defense inside of the ball and third down defense was just bad. [2:38:10] They never got them off the field. [2:38:12] They got them off the field one time and the penalty extended or two times and one of the times the penalty extended the drive. [2:38:19] You can't give up, you know, third down, like that you got to find ways to get off the field and they did a good job of creating turnovers when they needed to. [2:38:26] In big moments, you know, to get some momentum back on their side but it's kind of more the same where you get two or three positive plays and then a negative. [2:38:33] You know, it's just, it's so up and down right now, there's not a ton of consistency and that's just, you know, it's tough right now. [2:38:40] You're not going to win ball games doing that and, you know, the scoreboard reflects that. [2:38:45] Because the game were teams, I think both these teams will probably get better. Of course, midways at 2 and 0 because they won their opener last week against Leander, Rouse 19 to nothing in the Barakats. [2:38:55] Played a tremendous team in North Crowley who by the way is absolutely beating the daylights out of South Lake. [2:39:00] Care will tell you about that later. They're in the fourth quarter of that game. [2:39:03] But, you know, this was something that Robbie Jones, the Alito head coach said that, you know, these are just things that you have to get better at and they were better tonight. [2:39:12] The running game was far better tonight over 200 yards. No turnovers from this team. They did fumble at once but they were able to get it back. [2:39:20] And so it's just the little things they had a for right after they turned over Waco midway on downs or got a fumble. [2:39:29] They had a big run of busy by Izzy Roberts that covered 79 yards. They had a first and goal of the nine and they came away with no points. [2:39:35] They're same thing kind of the same issues that they ran into last week. Other times they look good. They hit some big fourth and third down plays. [2:39:41] Not the position you want to be in, but at the same time they made some plays that they got things better. [2:39:46] They're just going to have to keep growing and building and sticking with it and understanding to use an expression. [2:39:52] It's not how you start. It's how you finish. And this, you know, this non district schedule, which won't get any easier next week. [2:40:00] The big one, when they go to Ulysses Trinity, over at Pennington Field in Bedford, is kind of a truth teller to let you know this is where you have to be if you want to be in a strong class 6A program here. And so they're going to take a lot from these three games. It's not remember the big picture here. It's not going to hurt their ability to compete for a district championship and return to the playoffs. Just is not a lot of fun right now. No, and I remember I think it was my first or second season doing this. Aledo started O&2. They lost to Dynganard and then a private school and then Paris at Piscop. [2:40:30] They're going to be in the same school. And they're O2 and it seemed like the sky was falling and they ended up having a really good year. So I mean, you know, you can you can improve. You can get better. It's just you know the mental mistakes. You want to see that you know stop. You know, you can't extend drives in a close ball game with personal or unsportsman like conda. You just can't happen. No, and you know, there's other instances where you're able to create turnovers. But you know, you don't you are not able to capitalize on them. And the defense had a really tough night getting off the field. [2:41:00] They said the running game looked a lot better. They did a much better job upfront given their their running backs opportunity to make something happen. We saw a few flashes in the passing game. You know, Matt Maddox nurse looked really good when he got his chances. So there was definitely improvement. But you know, there's still a long way to go. Yeah. And the thing is that and that's the thing that this is going to be highly. It's going to be big for the Aledo coaching staff to keep stressing the things where they're getting better, even though they're not seen it on the scoreboard there and that it's a long stretch. And this is important. [2:41:30] For the leadership and the leader in the Aledo locker room to kind of keep themselves just keeping to this high standard. This is again, this is kind of uncharted territory for this program. And as I've been through these kinds of things that much. You mentioned the own two start a couple of years ago. I'll never forget that game over a pair of Shrapis. We all walked out of there and go, whoo. That was really. And you know, the Kuo. And the Hoss Haney was the quarterback. And we're like, is this the best we got? And turns out to be one of the best players. Yeah, you know, there's there's always going to be improvement. [2:41:59] Yeah, it's just, you know, it's, it's, this is a young team. There's not a lot of returning production. So you expect some growing pains. But, you know, as long as you see progress, continue through this pre, this pre district schedule. That's kind of what you're looking for here. And then when you get into the district, you start putting it together. And that's how a, you know, a rough start can can end in a really good season. [2:42:19] Yep. Okay. And Mercedes is scaring around to get our players of the game. They're going to be brought to by Aaron Valencia, the A game agent here. And then our statistical report will be brought to you by the Fort Worth Stockyards and Stockyards Heritage Club. And then our elders pure water play of the game. The bear cats again, falling in this contest by score of 28 to 21. And while Mercedes is still trying to hunt down our players of the game. [2:42:43] The quick story about why this series even came to be was the fact that Robbie Jones and Joe Gillespie, who obviously know each other because of their years back when Joe was hit the head, go to Stevenville. [2:42:54] Joe said he really didn't want to really didn't want to play this game, make the drive here. But Robbie talked him into it because as we talked about it, they could have gone to the good of Austin was like. And so I don't think you want to do that. But now time for our players of the game, Mercedes's dinner job and wrapped these, got these two. And so they are brought to you by Aaron Valencia. [2:43:12] And so the A game agent, some Mercedes, you have it. We got to coach one to tell him good game, which we can respect. So first up is going to be Izzy Roberts, sophomore midway coach was to tell him a good job. Good job as well. [2:43:26] 130 yards for him by the way. 130 yards for you tonight. A big spark for the offense. We just talk about kind of the difference between last week and this weekend. How hungry you guys left that game last week. [2:43:37] You know, last week, you know, we felt pretty disappointed. Like first time we haven't scored our preparation for this week was way different. Really more focus. We just got you know, come keep getting better and better and keep finishing drops. [2:43:48] Coach kind of told you guys after the game like eyes up, right. Keep your head up. How do you move on? It doesn't get any easier. Yeah, of course. Like, you know, just don't look down. You know, everything you got to overcome. You know, just keep getting better and better. Keep trusting your preparation. [2:44:00] What did you like from the offense today? I like how more focused we were like everything we did. We did it better than last week. I like that everybody was coming together. No arguments. Everybody just came as a team. [2:44:11] Kevin, can you guys hear me because you're cutting out on me? No, we got you. You got OK. Good. All right. Is he and then just talk about the defense and how they kept making plays to give you guys chances. You know, the defense. I say like always a heart and soul of the team. You know, the defense played good offense played good. You know, it's a good team. You always have a good team with a good defense. [2:44:28] All right. Thanks, is he are a A game player of the game. Office of the game. Jordan. There we go. OK, Jordan Hall as well as our defensive player of the game. You started with a little fire in your belly. It looked like there and then got yourself a pick. Talk to us about that. [2:44:43] So in this game, I was going in angry because the last game I didn't have one of my best games. I have to stay. Stay composed. Keep my hair low. And then I seen the ball. And then I just do what I do. And that's why I got to pick. Do what you do. I love it. [2:44:56] Talk about the defense as a whole, though. In that second half, it was zero zero North Crowley. Not that you want to take any small wins like that. But then how did you continue into this week to kind of keep that fire going? [2:45:06] This defense is a great defense. We came to fight every time that we, you know, give it a touch on some. They don't give up. They always play the ball. And yeah. [2:45:16] So you guys ended up kind of making some of the big plays when you needed to getting the turnovers. A few turnovers in this game, which of course you didn't have in the last game. [2:45:26] Were you all going back in between your series saying, guys, we got this or this is what we've got to do. Yes, we have some guys that they're hello because they weren't doing good job. [2:45:35] But the whole team, we picked it up. We got people hold them accountable. Like I said, they have to hear low, but me and some other guys, we kept them composed. [2:45:46] Total eight. Just go there and have fun. You playing a ball. You playing football just to have fun. And it's just playing for your family. And that's what we did. [2:45:54] How do you kind of keep this momentum swinging in the right direction next week? It's a loss. But you at least started swinging in the right direction. I think. [2:46:01] It's me just keep working. Gotta go back up your Saturday and then money to all the way through the week. Just keep working. Keep grinding. I guess, I guess we owe and two right now. But at the end of the day, we do keep working. [2:46:12] All right. Thanks Jordan. Yes, man. Thank you. All right. Thanks to Izzy Robertson, Jordan Hall, our players of the game. They are brought to by Aaron Valencia, the A game agent. And by the way, if you're wondering about next week's opponent, Ulystronity. They went down to the greater Austin area. And they didn't have very good time. [2:46:28] They lost to Austin West Lake by score of 35 to 10. We'll have more scores for you later, but just to let you know that the Trojans are one and one and the bear cats are going to be owe and two and they get together next week. [2:46:38] We'll take a one minute time out and we come back. We'll have these statistical breakdown of how this one unfolded after this break. You're listening to a lead O'Barrick at football. [2:47:54] Post game show continues now time to get our thoughts from Alito, Hey Coach Robbie Jones and Mercedes. Go ahead Mercedes. [2:48:00] Coach Jones, not the outcome you wanted. You probably saw a lot more that you liked in this game, though than you did last week. [2:48:06] Yeah, I mean, we're just extremely disappointed. You know, the kids fought their tails off. [2:48:13] You know, it's not a whole lot you can say. I mean, you know, they made the plays we didn't. [2:48:19] Talk about your defense kind of getting that momentum to keep swinging your favor with the turnovers that they had a couple of them really timely. [2:48:26] Yeah, I mean, a great job by them, you know, forcing turnovers. That's one of the things we talked about going into the game was, you know, we needed to get some turnovers, you know. [2:48:34] Those turnovers help our offense out. We get a little momentum going and all those things, but, you know, just one enough force. [2:48:41] Can you build on this, though, especially offensively? You probably saw some things that you were worked on this week and wanted to do better with. [2:48:49] Yeah, I mean, we did some good things offensively. You know, we just talked about consistency, consistency, consistency. [2:48:56] You know, and we're not getting that, you know, on a regular basis. You know, every now and then, we'll build together a great drive. [2:49:03] The next time we go out and we don't do anything, you know, so it's, you know, maybe it's me. I don't know. [2:49:09] You told the guys after the game and the head all like eyes up, right? Keep your head up. Keep your eyes up on what's next. It doesn't get any easier. [2:49:17] No, I mean, we're going to have to go play against Trinity Trojans, you know, historically, you know, one of the better teams in the state of Texas. [2:49:23] It don't be a very physical football game. So, you know, we've got to, you know, shake this off, you know, ride the ship and then let's go start winning some football games. [2:49:33] Awesome. Thanks, coach. [2:49:34] All right. Thanks Mercedes. And thanks to Robbie Jones for that. Okay. Now time for our look at the statistical breakdown of this game. [2:49:41] And again, brought to you by Fort Worth Stockyards Stockyards Heritage Club total first downs in the ballgame. [2:49:46] Elito had 14 midway had 16 total Russian yards. The bear cats with a good night. They were over 200 at 206 midway finished at 186. [2:49:55] Passing yards in the ballgame, Elito with 127 wake up midway with [2:50:00] Two, oh six, total yards in the ball game. Aledo with 333 and Midway with 392. Three turnovers in the game, all against Midway and Aledo converted unfortunately only one of those in their defense was deep on their side of the field. Two of those were deep on Aledo's side of the field. So it's kind of hard to take advantage of that. The one turnover that got that was deep in Midway territory they capitalized on, but the Bearcats win the turnover battle three to none. [2:50:30] Over a couple of times they'll actually go into the Trinity game plus one in the turnover ratio. Yeah, they were able to force some opportunities where they could get the ball back for the offense, but like you said, you know, when you get those, the offense has got to capitalize on and that was tough for them tonight. [2:50:44] The one, Izzy Roberts able to break off the really big run there they weren't able to punch it in where it felt like they described about the momentum back it, but again, we saw a lot of improvement out of the offense across the board. They blocked better, they were able to run the ball downhill much more effectively. They were able to find something in the passing game, but they still got a lot of improvement and they'll continue to get better. [2:51:08] As you can see, you can see consistent improvement each week, you know, and next week's going to be another really tough game. Yeah, it can be really physical. They're going to have to be ready upfront to expect it's going to be similar to what was last week in terms of how physical it's going to be. [2:51:22] So I don't mean I'm not here to say I think Trinity is going to be as good as North Crowley, but the same type of style of plays what you're going to see. So you got to get ready this week have a good week of practice and get in your mind that, you know, this is going to be a physical ball game, but whichever teams tougher. [2:51:37] As the ones are likely going to win the difference in this game was what happened on third down the barricades were just all two of 10, but midway. [2:51:45] This is the reason why they won 11 out of 13. I think converted their first nine of the game and then they finished two out of their last four, but enough so that they could sustain drives in a couple of these were really long. [2:51:56] Their average need was over eight yards. [2:51:58] Alito's average need was nine. The barricades were two of three on fourth down midway did not have a fourth down attempt. [2:52:05] Punts in the ball game, Alito with three for 33 average or four for 33 average, excuse me. Midway had one punt that one for 36 yards penalties in the ball game. [2:52:14] Alito good night, except for the timing of the last one three for 35 midway with three for 22. And again, I said the last one because that was the unsportsman like conduct penalty that went against Max Foreman. [2:52:25] That would have gotten midway off the field on what turned out to be the go ahead scoring drive kept that thing going. [2:52:31] And so the barricades who had all of the momentum at that time until that play unfortunately. And I know Max is going to kick himself for that too. [2:52:39] Yeah, I mean, that's a tough tough spot to take a penalty like that, especially like you said, you had all the momentum. You're getting off the field. [2:52:45] You know, you've been driving the ball on him. It's late in the ball game. So you got a chance to get the ball and go try to win the ball game instead. [2:52:51] They get you loud them stay on the field and they end up going and punching in the end zone. So you know, that's not what lost him the game. [2:52:57] But it's just kind of a series of plays like that where you know, it's just you look up. It's you know, two two steps forward one step back. [2:53:04] Yeah, it's kind of the been the theme so far. So and that's what coach Jones was talking about. Just finding consistency. You know, where you can do, you can string different consecutive drives together. [2:53:13] You know, you're getting positive plays consistently in that when you get to that point, that's when you're going to start having a lot more success. [2:53:21] And the time of possession before I touched on your point, I'll lead it with 19 minutes of 38 seconds of clock time and wake up midway one of winning the clock battle because of that long possession to start the third quarter, 28 minutes and 22 seconds. [2:53:35] But it's kind of like it shows you where Alita was right now, where in years past, they had a margin for error that was pretty wide, not so much right now. Yeah, they don't have that margin. [2:53:46] I mean, it's just, you know, they're a team that's had a fine their identity on both sides of the ball, like what kind of team do they want to be, you know, and you know, once you do that, you can start leaning into that and improving. [2:53:56] And you know, you'll get continue to get better, but you know, that's what they're trying to find. They're trying to find people that are willing to step up like as he Roberts, you know, he wasn't the starting running back to start this year, but, you know, Jeremiah went down, he's able to step up and he goes on, has a really big game tonight. [2:54:10] Here's a lot of a lot of good things. So it's going to take efforts like that of people, you know, growing up in a hurry and finding, finding a role in this team and and going out there and you can't have critical mistakes where you know, you're getting beat deep or, you know, giving up easy touchdowns. [2:54:24] You just can't happen, especially at this level. Sure. [2:54:27] Individually for the bear cats tonight, Tray Williams, the quarterback took a sack. He lost six yards on that easy Roberts. As you mentioned, 16 carries for 130 yards for him in a touchdown. [2:54:37] Also had the big, excuse me, had the big 79 yard run earlier in this half. Eli Pinnick, the quarterback had six carries for 35 yards. And why Adorcy, 11 carries for 53 yards. By the way, Pinnick did take a sack. He lost a yard on that. [2:54:53] Before the game throwing the football Tray Williams was eight out of 17, no interceptions, 127 yards in a touchdown. Eli Pinnick did not, did not attempt to pass tonight. [2:55:04] Izzy Roberts did catch one pass, but no yards out of that. Caden Palmquist caught one pass for 35, Maddox nurse, three catches for 66 yards. And that brilliant 29 yard touchdown, grab a cane linear head, three catches for 26 yards for the bear cats individually for Midway tonight. [2:55:22] Both Strickland, their quarterback had four carries for 10 yards. He did take a sack for 10 yards. The Uber talented running back. Lathen Wysenton finished his night with 17 carries for 100 and 157 yards and two touchdowns. [2:55:37] The other running backs in the ballgame were Jaden Fields von. He had 12 carries for 20 yards. Did not touch the ball. I don't think in the second half or he was very, maybe one carry in the second half. That's right. The deconset won in the second half. [2:55:50] And then the third running back, Rayland Richmond had one carry and lost a yard on that. Strickland through the air. He was very solid tonight. And he made some really dynamite throws, especially on the go ahead touchdown scoring drive. He was 18 out of 25. Did throw an interception. [2:56:04] 206 yards and two touchdowns. The big problem the bear cats had tonight was against Jacobi Hamilton. He had seven catches for 135 yards and two touchdowns. Hayden Brock two catches for A yard. Marcus Cain had eight catches for 63 yards. Wysenton caught a pass for a yard. [2:56:22] And then Hayden saw us had one catch and he lost a couple of yards lost a yard on that. Now here's how this game went down and that's where we'll get to our elders. Peerwater play of the game for you. And that is it started off like this. The bear cats got the ball first, but unfortunately we're not able to do anything with it. They punted it back. [2:56:40] And then the panthers struck first on a four play 58 yard drive 41 yard touchdown pass from Strickland to Hamilton. They gave them a seven nothing lead. And then it quickly became 14 to nothing five minutes later on a Wysenton 45 yard touchdown run. But the bear cats were able to answer in the opening moments of the second quarter where [2:57:01] Y Dorsey broke off a 23 yard touchdown run. First 38 seconds of the second quarter to make it a 14 to seven ball game. Then midway was able to reclaim the lead at 21 to seven at the 345 mark of the second quarter on [2:57:17] another connection between Strickland and Hamilton. This one covering 22 yards. It made it 21 to seven. But the bear cats were able to close out the first half with some momentum. They made it 21 to 14 because coming up to our elders. Peerwater play of the game. They had gotten down to the 23 yard line. They just converted a fourth down on a brilliant run by Izzy Roberts. But then following a tray Williams sack that put it back to the 29 yard line. [2:57:41] They were they were pretty much having they were just stuck with it because they were out of timeouts. But this thing of beauty got the bear cats within seven right before the end of the first half from the insan four down Williams for throw the past is going to be caught. [2:57:55] The Maddox nurse touchdown got inside of the corner. It covers 29 yards first touchdown pass of his career as a little bear cat for tray Williams and the bear cats closer than 21 14 at half time. Then no scoring in the third quarter. But the bear cats defense got a big stop on a turnover inside the 10 yard line following midway driving it all the way down inside the 10 yard line to begin the second half. [2:58:23] The bear cats weren't able to do anything with it. The bear cats though later on were able to get a possession that drove all the way down. Thanks so big Izzy Roberts 79 yard run that had it that gave the bear cats a first and goal at the midway nine yard line. Unfortunately they went backwards on that. [2:58:40] Then they were flagged with the procedure penalty. So a 25 yard field goal attempt turned into a 30 yard field goal attempt and unfortunately the bear cats a place kicker Hudson Parks. It hit off the right upright and bounced off and so it was no good. But the bear cats were able to get a turnover later in capitalize on this on a seven yard touchdown run by Izzy Roberts to make it a 21 21 ball game at the nine minute mark of the fourth quarter. However, midway answered with what turned out the [2:59:10] game winning drive this nine place 71 yard drive was capped off by wizent in 16 yard touchdown run and the key play and then it was unfortunate with the bear cats defense had a midway off the field on a third and 14 but on unfortunate on sports and like conduct one against the bear cats to kept the possession going and then midway took it down and scored the bear cats were able to answer they got down to about the 22 yard line in midway territory. Then they got pushed back and they had a fourth down at about the 26 yard line. Unfortunately they were on the back [2:59:40] and unable to convert turn it over on down to the midway ran out the clock and that's how this game ended at 28 21. We'll take a one minute time out when we come back. We'll wrap up the Titan Reddy mixed post game show 28 21 midway over a little back after this time out. [2:59:54] This is coach Jones of the 12 time Texas State Champion, Lido Bearcats. Billy Harris Riffing has been [3:00:00] And a proud supporter of Bearcat and Ladycat Athletics for years. [3:00:30] The mission is to pray in person over every Aledo ISD campus each week. I'll be a part of this great group of people who are sinners just trying to get it right. [3:00:40] Your home for real country. 30 A's, 90s, and 2000s. KTFW. Glenn Rose, Graham Berry. 92.1 Hank FM. [3:00:50] Final segment of the Titan Rating Mix post-game show will remind you that the KTFW High School scoreboard show will follow here in just a few moments. [3:00:58] You can see scores, though, from the rest of District 368 tonight, because everybody was in action. So let's get you caught up on what's going on there. Remember District Play for Aledo will start in two weeks. [3:01:10] Last night, Arlington Lamar rallied to defeat Crowley 35-31. Tonight, Waco High rallied and beat Graham Berry by a score of 28-24. [3:01:19] The FFW wins on the road at A's, beating the Hornets 28-14. So the FFW pick up their first win of the year, first win of the year for a first career win for Marshall Edwards, the Marshall Williams, excuse me, the new head coach at FFW. [3:01:32] Half-time score, the only one we had between Sam Houston and Everman was the Texans, leaving the Bulldogs. Seven and nothing, that one at the intermission. [3:01:40] Final score tonight has a VR eaten over Arlington by a score of 20-10. South Grand Prairie over Arlington, Buwillie by a score of 36-31. Martin over Flownman, Marcus 22-17. [3:01:52] Again, more scores for you on the KTFW High School scoreboard. So now time for the Deacon's out of WAC stat. 22% of all combined offensive possessions averaged over 10 plays. [3:02:10] I can believe that for as long as Midway had a couple of those possessions, especially the one to start the third quarter. Alito had a couple of possessions. Again, Alito scoring drives. [3:02:20] They covered 11, 11 and, let's see, 11, 11 and they had, one that was seven. But again, those were long scoring drives. [3:02:31] Again, I know Robbie, you could tell it in Robbie Jones' voice that he was very frustrated and by how things turned out in this game in the way he was talking, he was like, well maybe it's me or whatever. [3:02:42] I mean, every coach will take it hard. They always do because they're competitors and they don't like losing. Nobody likes losing. But again, this is all kind of a big picture thing that Alito's just going to, you hate to say this, but this is just something that you're just going to have to go through and get through because this is such a different level. [3:02:57] This is such a different way of life. And you know, the 70 to seven games over Azale aren't going to happen anymore. So you just kind of have to realize that when you grow up in the world that sometimes you just got to cut your teeth, even though you may not like it. [3:03:09] Yeah, you know, there's going to be some, like we said a few times. There's definitely going to be growing pains going up to, you know, the competition is going to get better every week. [3:03:18] And that's been the story so far this year. You know, they've done it. The last week, you know, I feel like you don't take up tunnel away from that game this week. I feel like there's a lot more you could take away and be excited about looking forward in terms of the individual efforts. [3:03:32] You know, several guys in the offense played much better this week than they did last week. But still you got a long way to go. I think you know, third down on defense was a real problem tonight. That was the difference. That really was a difference in the ballgame, which we didn't see that last week. [3:03:45] Honestly, you know, the explode giving up the explosive plays on defense. They're going to have to find a fix for that because, you know, just getting beat deep. It's just, it's they haven't had an answer for it. [3:03:56] Honestly, this year, that's been there. They're kind of a keyless heel so far. So they're going to have to find ways to do that. And you know, offensive just keep beating better. You got to get, you know, some balance. They really leaned heavily on the run tonight, which was fine. But, you know, at some point, you're going to have to throw the ball consistently in the season. [3:04:11] There's going to come a time where you know, the run's not working and you're going to have to be able to find a way to move the offense through the air, which, you know, we saw tonight they're able to do a little better, but not quite as consistent as I think Robbie would like to see. So, you know, definitely improvement, but so long way to go. And I, you know, I think this team, you can look back like the way they they're trajectory looks. [3:04:31] They continue to get better each week. I think they they'll have a chance to go where they want to end up this season. Yeah. By the way, I did, I did leave out one score. I mentioned North Kral. And again, this is not like a misery loves company, but something you can take solace and because that North Krali team. And I'm going to stop talking about them after tonight because it's just different, but they absolutely rolled South like Carol tonight 40 to 10 in that ball game there. So that kind of tells you how good they are and how good of course, solid program South like Carol has been over the years. But we will do it another time for the final non district game. [3:05:01] Of this 2026 campaign, the bear catch will be traveling over to the mid cities. I'm excited for it because that's my shortest trip of the year over Bedford. So I don't know about you all over here, but I get this. I get the short drive. I get to take the back roads over to a penning field in Bedford. It'll be nice to see that building after a couple of years. [3:05:19] By the way, the bear catch did suffer their first home loss since 2022 here by the way. Yeah, didn't guide Jackson Arnold. They came into town. It was an ugly one if I remember. [3:05:27] 4114 or something like that. And so, but you know, you just keep playing. It's life. You just keep playing. You just keep figuring it out. And by the way, on a side note here, I'm glad to see that the midway cheerleaders were up and leading here because they were stuck there for a while. They're on the far side of the field. [3:05:43] Well, what was going on there? And so, but anyway, we'll bring you the bear cats and the Trinity Trojans next Friday night, a 630 start on 92.1 Hanka family and the kickoff between the bear cats and the Trojans and the Haka.
