[0:00:00] And we welcome you to Pennington Field in Bedford as we have just gotten underway here. The Bearcats took the opening kickoff and Cooper whole return to the 11-yard line. We welcome you to Bearcats football, the late start but we are underway. Tre Williams to throw on first down and it's incomplete. He was looking for [0:00:30] Kane Lanier at about the 20-yard line but it was nearly picked off. It was under a phone a little bit too much air on that. Want to remind you that Ledo Bearcats football is a presentation of the Maritz group of dealerships family owned since 1974 and Billy Harris roofing same name and number since 1973. We welcome you to the first quarter which is brought to you by Lucacy in Willow Park. Second down and ten for the Bearcats. Trinity won the toss and deferred its choice to the second half. On the second down give it is over the left side. [0:01:00] We welcome you to Izzy Roberts. He will get two yards through about the 13-yard line. So it brings up a third down and long which we've seen quite a bit in these first two games. Kyle Hicks, the Bearcats looking at a third and eight. Yes, it's been tough so far in these first two ball games overcoming these third and long situations. You know that first play we had an open-gallic Kane Lanier out there. It didn't get quite in the zip on the ball out there. It was almost intercepted at that time. We're not able to find any running room on the left side. It's going to be a battle up front so they're going to have to keep going to that run and trying to get it established as the game goes on. [0:01:29] Williams to throw and third down has some time fires up in the middle and it's too high and it's intercepted. Lane on this back foot making the interception is Maurice Singleton out about the Alito 25-yard line as he was going for Caden Palmquist and it was just too high. [0:01:45] And unfortunately Singleton came up with the turnover deep in Alito territory so the Bearcats defense with its backs against the walls at the start of this ball game. One minute into since we've just kicked off. [0:01:57] Yeah, it looked like Williams was expecting his receiver in a different spot. I mean, it missed pretty badly behind him there and it's really good interception there for eternity where it isn't the field and the catch was not easy. He had to lay out and it's able to bring that in. [0:02:11] But now they take over deep in Alito territory which is not how you want to start this ball game. [0:02:15] Officially at the Bearcats 28-yard line ball resting in the middle of the field. Mac line-weavers the quarterback. He will give it up the middle for a pickup of about three yards on the play. [0:02:26] Kerry was made by Cohen Fia Fia. He will see some carries. We're going to see a lot of Marcus Turner or we should see a lot of Marcus Turner. He's their primary run back but again a mix of several folks, Prince Gandoon of course whom we just saw Cohen Fia Fia again a heavy Tongan population here. [0:02:49] Officially a three-yard pickup with the ball in the middle of the field deep in Alito territory. Give us to Turner this time up the middle with some running room. [0:02:56] Gets to about the 20-yard line so a pickup of five yards so it'll bring up a third down and call it two for the Trojans as they are trying to capitalize on what is now. [0:03:08] Well, Tre will you second interception of the season? Yeah and you know just nothing fancy here early on in the ball games first two plays just running right out the heart of that Alito defense that time. [0:03:18] They're able to pick up five yards and make this a third in short which in this part of the field wouldn't be shocked to see him go for it if they don't pick it up here on third down. [0:03:25] Yeah, we should point out too when Trinity kicked off it was kind of a coffin corner kick and a pin to Cooper hole toward the pile on the near side of the field and he didn't have much room. [0:03:35] And a third in short it is a give up the middle and I don't think he got there. No, he sure didn't. No gain there for Turner. [0:03:42] It looks like who was the ball carrier on that but the Alito defensive front lit led by the tackles of time in Maksin and Mari Dindo stand tall and now they make it fourth and two for the Trojans. [0:03:52] Boy, it would be great if this defense could find a way to get off the field and prevent Trinity from advancing the football. [0:03:57] Yeah, this is a really big play here early in this ballgame. You know, you know, you know, you had the early turn over in this on the first possession. [0:04:02] You have to be able to get them off the field here. That'd be a huge stop to this defense, but you got to be aware right here. [0:04:07] They can try to the hard count get you to jump off side and give them a free first down which is exactly what they're known. [0:04:12] Trent Turner is the other running back here and he's deep in the backfield behind Maclean line. [0:04:16] We've four than two at the Alito 20. It is a gift of turning. He is trapped in the backfield and the Alito defense comes up with a stop. [0:04:23] A loss of one there. Jojo Cooper comes in from his defensive end spot and the bear cat defensive line holds up. [0:04:31] There's also a defensive player down for the for the bear cat. And I think it might be Cooper who actually made that tackle there. [0:04:37] And he does it was Jojo, but he's able to pop up and get off the field under his own power, but the defense does a great job there of getting off the field and saving the offense because Trinity had it first in 10 at the Alito 28 and they're turned away. [0:04:51] Really good job there by the defense. Great job. Jojo Cooper is able to cut in front of that left tack there. [0:04:56] Get in the backfield and make the initial contact there and another really good job. The front four finishing off that play. [0:05:02] Huge stand there from the defense. They got put in a really bad spot there. They're able to overcome the early turn over the offense. Get us the ball back and this time the offense in their chance here. [0:05:12] So the ball at the 22 yard on Alito's side of the field. Manick Snurfs comes in motion kind of a bad snap by to Tray Williams, but he's able to dump it out on the left side and running them up the far side of the field is Kane Leneer. [0:05:23] He does have a first down and those first downs are brought to you by those first downs are brought to you by Bullgoose concrete finishing and epoxy. [0:05:40] It's a pick up of 12 yards at the 34 yard line at the 34 yard line. It is a give over the left side with a flag coming in and call it no gain there on the play as the get ball carrier was white dorsi on that. [0:06:00] It's either going to be holding on Alito or hands the face but the defense one of the two. [0:06:08] And it is a holding penalty against the bear cat so that'll march them back 10 from the 34 back to their own 24 so first penalty of the night goes against the bear cats unfortunately so now they're looking at first in 20. [0:06:19] But on that previous play it was a snap that went to the right side of Williams but he was able to keep his composure and he found Kane Leneer who did a nice job tap damping, tap dancing up the sideline on Alito side of the field to get that first down. [0:06:33] But now first in 20 for the bear cats at their 24 yard line 8 and a half minutes to play play action throwing over the middle caught Kane Leneer that's a better ball on that slant across the 45 in to Trinity territory across midfield and at the 45 yard line chase Davis the safety comes over there makes the stop 31 yards on the pass play there and Bullgoose construction brings you that first down. [0:06:56] That's the play that the bear cats were missing the first two weeks absolutely that inside a quick inside slant Kane Leneer is able to get leverage the inside tray Williams delivers a really good ball there is able to catch it for a huge game there. [0:07:06] See him go back to that several times throughout this game is he Roberts with a little bit of running room on this first down carry gets five yards to the 40 yard line into Trinity territory so that'll bring up a second down and five here as we roll under eight minutes in this first quarter again we were delayed by about 55 minutes. [0:07:25] 52 53 minutes because of some lightning that was never near as per say but close enough so that they had to delay the start second down and five in the give us to why Dorsey he's got running room over the left side first down across the 30 and he steps out of bounds at about the Trinity 24 yard line 16 yards for wide Dorsey on that little outside run. [0:07:46] It's another bull goose construction first down bear cats are moving it and really a job there about up front for the bear cats wide Dorsey having patience on that run there. [0:07:54] It was a slow developing run to the left side of that offensive line he's able to bite it's time to wait for the lanes open once it did he's able to hit it for first down to receivers to the right one to the left ball at the Trinity 24 Williams under pressure now throw it away he was stepping outside the pocket there was a receiver in the area that was Kate Nussbaum who was lined up toward the Trinity sideline he did a pump fake there then realize there wasn't anybody available so he did the wise thing and throw it away but the good news was that there's somebody in the middle of the [0:08:24] area so that it wouldn't be grounding yeah that was a dangerous throw but thankfully you said there was somebody coming into the area there so you avoid the costly penalty there was good job I trail him it's not delivering his initial pass because it would have been intercepted how he done that. [0:08:36] So second and ten at the Trinity 24 they try that running play to why Dorsey who cuts it up the middle he gets a couple yards on that boy it looked like that hole was going to open but an ice stop by the Trinity linebackers to shut it down pretty quickly and it's only a pick up to it looked like it had a little bit more than two coming on it but now it brings up a third down an eight at the Trinity 24. [0:08:53] Yeah there wasn't a lot of room to work inside they're trying to do a pretty good job up the middle there you know that gap close pretty quickly and you know in a runner it has to stop his momentum life that and try to pick it back up it's really hard to gain yardage. [0:09:06] Third down an eight at the Trinity 22 Williams to throw fires past his caught that's slanted again to Kane Liner he's got running room ten five touchdown 22 yards for Kane Liner that screen that went for 31 a few moments ago [0:09:20] puts the bear cats on the board their first lead of the season. [0:09:25] A great job there by Alito it's a great play call there Trinity brought pressure off the right side of the offensive line you couldn't have had a better play call for that type of pressure you had a tunnel screen right across the middle behind all that pressure [0:09:38] and Kane Liner does a good job of securing the catch and from there had good blocking out in front is able to run it in for the touchdowns a big big response there from Alito offense. [0:09:46] One of the PAT specialist in fact the snapper was late getting on and that's Landry Casper but he gets out there now time for the extra point brought to you by your local sports clips and it is good off the foot of Hudson. [0:10:00] Six minutes, 50 seconds to play here in the first quarter, Aledo Strikes first has a lead for the first time this season. Bearcats 7 Trojans nothing back after this time out. [0:10:30] The first section that drives us, stop by today, Maritz Kia, the best name in the business, back by the best warranty in the business. Maritz Kia in Fort Worth, Hurst, Oralites. [0:10:40] Your home for real country. 80s, 90s and 2000s. KTFW. Glenn Rose, Grandberry. 92.1, Hank FM. [0:10:49] I guess the delay was well worth it because after the early miscue on the turnover of the Bearcats defense gets a stop and then the Bearcats often does its job and goes 7 plays, 78 yards, two minutes and 12 seconds off the clock. [0:11:01] Kane Lanier, 22 yard touchdown reception, catch and run if you will from Tre Williams. By the way, for Tre Williams, that is only his second touchdown pass of the season. [0:11:10] The Bearcats strike first leading 7 and up in in Kyle. You could just kind of see the energy on that Aledo sideline. By the way, should tell you that the drive summary brought to you by CSG West Grenade and flooring, but early the energy really really after the defense made that stop. [0:11:25] Yeah, and I like the approach of Lido's taken here on the offensive side of the ball. They're really taking a lot of the decision making out of the offensive's hands or running screens or running short little swing passes to the outside. [0:11:35] It's getting the ball out of the quarterback's hand quickly, getting into your playmaker's hands and letting them try to make something happen after after they catch the ball. [0:11:42] That time Kane Lanier had a big part of that drive and especially with that tumble screen there at the end to put them on the board. [0:11:47] Jackson Russell with the miser orthodontics kick off and it goes off one of the hands of one of the return men fraternity and out of the back of the end zone. So that'll be a touch back for the trochants and so they will start first in 10 at their 25 yard line. [0:12:01] Also want to remind you that Alito bear cats football is a presentation of Maritz Chevrolet in West for a worth and again Billy Harris roofing. [0:12:07] Same name and number since 1973 were coming to you from the NTX varsity sports dot com broadcast both quickly to the sidelines and Mercedes. [0:12:15] Guys Joe Joe Cooper was slow to get up on that last defensive stand for Alito and since he came to the sideline, they took his equipment off and they've been working on it. [0:12:25] So he looks like he's okay and he's been trying to he's just chomping at the back out there and get his equipment back on. [0:12:32] Okay, so what they've done here is the backup behind Max Foreman is Mark Ogden. [0:12:36] He's taking Cooper spot and so Max Foreman is on the other side. Thank you for pointing that out Mercedes. So first in 10 for the trochants at their own 25 yard line ball right in the middle of the field between the hash marks. [0:12:47] Offset I it'll be a play action for Mac line. We were the passage tip to at the line of scrimmage and knocked away by Max Foreman. [0:12:54] And his second battered pass of the season. Remember, he got the first one of the year at North Crowley. [0:12:59] And so this is I think his second one of the seasons. So second in 10. He has a good job at Max Foreman. [0:13:04] The trochants had a guy out there in the flat would have been probably a completion for a pretty good amount of yards there. [0:13:09] He's able to get his hands up knock that ball down and really do a good job of preventing and explosive play there on first down. [0:13:16] And then the uniform combination of the bear cats with their white helmets white jerseys black pants and Trinity all black black helmets black jerseys black pants. [0:13:24] Second and 10 man comes in motion. It'll be a give over the right side to turner and Trent maybe gets a yard right in the middle of that scrimm to the 26 yard line. [0:13:35] So third and long coming up for the trochants. Yeah, and Alito's done a good job all year really up the middle against the run. [0:13:42] And then he's done a good job of really making it difficult to run. Same story there. And this is where Alito's got to live on defense in this ball game. [0:13:49] You got to get this team. They don't want to be in these certain long situations. They prefer running the ball and then maybe taking a shot a few times a game. [0:13:56] If you put them where they have to put them in all these passing situations that place for the lead of defense on a shotgun for a line. [0:14:01] We've heard a throw on third and nine time. I've stepped up and fires down the near side of the field. He's looking for a man and it's knocked away by Jordan Hall. [0:14:08] Pass was intended for Carmelo Gray. And Jordan Hall did a great job there going step for step with Carmelo Gray on that play. [0:14:18] Gray only has one catch so far. But nice job there by Jordan Hall. He steps up and forces the three and out. [0:14:25] Yeah, really good job. Great technique there by Jordan Hall. He ran with the receiver that time. That's been the issue for Alito's defense as we talked about. [0:14:32] You know that deep ball that time. Jordan Hall is in great position. He's in the inside of a shoulder of the receiver. [0:14:37] He's able to go up and make a play at the ball. No pass interference and forces the pun. Here's great job by the defense there with the three and out. [0:14:43] Jaden Boy is the punner. He's also the place kicker. The left footer gets it away. High end over and Cooper Hall will get away from it. [0:14:50] It bounces. Takes a Trinity bounce. And it'll go inside the Alito 40 before it's finally down to about the 37 yard line. [0:14:58] And so the bear cats will take over with 548 to play here in this first quarter leading by a score of seven and nothing. [0:15:05] Punct covered 37 yards. And so the third offensive possession of the night for the bear cats. [0:15:10] Again, we're still in the first quarter. If you're just joining us, we had about a 52 minute delay because of lightning. [0:15:16] Never rained over here at Pennington Field. But because the lightning strikes in the area. They do the standard 30 minute delays. [0:15:24] And so that and those got started around 535 45 this afternoon. And so that's why we're starting a little bit later than normal. [0:15:31] So first in 10 for the bear cats with the ball on the near hash toward the Trinity sideline on this first in 10. [0:15:36] It is going to be a give over the right side to Izzy Roberts. And he will lose yardage behind the line of scrimmage. [0:15:43] As making the stop there for Trinity was Nathaniel Makasini, one of the backup defensive tackles. He loses about three yards on that back to the. [0:15:53] Oh, they're calling to loss it too, but it's more closer to three because the balls between the 34 and the 35 yard line. [0:15:59] So second and 13 coming up for the bear cats here. [0:16:03] Again, a tree Williams early interception gave Trinity a first in 10 at the Alito 28 yard line, but the bear cats made a stand on fourth down. [0:16:12] On this second down running play, they run a stretch to Izzy Roberts running room and he got tripped from behind. [0:16:17] He had a huge hole in front of him as he got to the 40 yard line after that pick above about five yards on the play. [0:16:22] But Kyle, he had a lot more running room if it wasn't for that ankle tack. [0:16:25] Yeah, he was frustrated when he got up on that one because he had nothing but daylight in front of him there is really good job oppressing the edge there on that stretch play. [0:16:32] The lane opened up and he once he got vertically just had one right hand of a defender to be there. [0:16:37] Right there just hit his ankle and took a speed out of the night. He'd still be running Williams to throw on third down on a call at night. [0:16:43] He will take off and run to the 40 45 gets a first down as he dives forward to the midfield stripe. [0:16:49] Longest run we've seen tray Williams this year and he finally gets into posit or getting closer to positive territory. [0:16:55] It's a pick up of 10 yards and other bull goose construction first down and again, tray Williams who wasn't known as a runner in his first two years starting at Lewisville. [0:17:03] He hadn't seen much of it in the first two games so far. [0:17:06] Yeah, we don't you know, Lito doesn't need him to be the second coming of Haas Haney. [0:17:10] What they do need him though in the situations like that every once well uses legs pick up a first down and extend the drive just like he did there. [0:17:16] At the midfield stripe, they give us to Izzy Roberts breaks a tackle first down inside the 20 40 and then he steps out of bounds and then his push out of bounds of the flag coming in at about the 28 yard line at 22 yard pickup. [0:17:28] Another bull goose construction first down for the bear cats. [0:17:31] A great run there by Izzy Roberts as he was very patient and this should be a personal foul and probably taking it to about the first 14 yard line. [0:17:39] Yeah, this is going to be a late head out of bounds on the turnity here. [0:17:43] So it's going to extend that run. [0:17:45] Should be into the red zone here and you know, I love the energy we're seeing from the Lito offense and defense so far earlier in this ballgame. [0:17:51] So the bear cats are going to be moving into the red zone starting at the 14 yard line. [0:17:55] So two first downs those are brought to you by bull goose construction. [0:17:59] Again, want to thank them for being our new first down sponsor into this 2026 season. [0:18:06] So the run covers 22 the penalty covers 14 half the distance. [0:18:10] And so the bear cats start with the ball on the far hashed at the 14 yard line two receivers to the near side one to the far. [0:18:17] It'll be a play action Williams to throw fires over the middle passes just a little bit too tall. [0:18:22] Oh, he was looking for Mason McCatum in the middle of the end. [0:18:26] I've got a step on it, but might have been just a little bit too high or maybe McCatum sought too late. [0:18:31] Yeah, it was it was a miss there. I mean they had McCatum's running free right up the hash at the goal line there and just wasn't able to bring that one in just above his. [0:18:39] Above his reach there and that's a really good. [0:18:41] We saw a tray Williams complete that past the Maddox nurse for a touchdown last week. [0:18:45] They weren't able to connect this time though. [0:18:47] And then Mr. Roberts he cuts it up the middle and he'll get about maybe three yards to about the 11 yard line. [0:18:52] So it'll bring up now a third down and I actually call it to to the 12. [0:18:57] So it'll bring up third down and eight once again. [0:18:59] Good news is that the bear cats are in this been there done that scenario a third and long. [0:19:03] Yeah, this is anything new for him here, but we'll see what they like to do last time in this situation. [0:19:07] Trinity decided to bring pressure. Alito had the tunnel screen called and we're able to hit him for a touchdown. [0:19:12] So we'll see how they want to play it. [0:19:14] Bear cats are two out of their first three on third down attempts. [0:19:17] They need eight. They have to get to the Trinity for ball on the left side. [0:19:21] Williams works out of the pocket. [0:19:23] Pressure from his right fires over the middle past his caught and then off the hands of Kane linear. [0:19:28] He had it for a second and then he got popped and then it jared free and so and I don't think he was going to have enough for the first down anyway. [0:19:34] And so it looks like the bear cats will send the field goal unit out to try and make this a two score game. [0:19:39] What we're seeing from these third and long situations is Trinity's bringing pressure off the edge every time Alito gets on these situations that time. [0:19:46] At Ray Williams had about another second to let Kane linear clear out over the middle of the field. [0:19:50] He had been wide open there, but he had to get rid of the ball and when the situation when Kane linear had a chance to catch it. [0:19:56] There's just too many defenders around him when they were bringing it in. [0:19:58] Hudson parks on for this 29 yard. [0:20:00] Field goal attempt, the right footer on the way, and it is good. Three minutes and 29 seconds, [0:20:06] 328 now they let another second roll as the field goal cleared, but 328 to play in the [0:20:11] ball in the first quarter. It is Aledo 10 and Trinity nothing back after this time out. [0:20:16] Hello, this is Pastor Clark Mosher. [0:21:18] 10-nothing, the Alito Bearcats lead the Trinity Trojans here at Pennington Field in Bedford. [0:21:25] The Meiser, orthodontics kickoff is high and over and field it at the three, taken up the [0:21:30] middle of the field. 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, breaking attack, 40, 45 in to the midfield [0:21:38] stripe there. Those prints can do on the 42 yard kickoff return. So the Trojans will [0:21:44] start officially, actually they'll call it 41 because they mark them out at the 49 yard [0:21:48] line on Trinity side of the field. CSG West Granite and Florian Drive summary for the Bearcats [0:21:53] to go up 10 to nothing, eight plays, 51 yards, two minutes and 20 seconds off the clock. [0:21:59] 29 yard field go from Hudson Park. He's now one of two on the season. He missed from [0:22:03] 30 yards unfortunately last week against Waco Midway but good from 29 here. And the Bearcats [0:22:08] have scored on their last two possessions and not only is they scored first, this is their [0:22:13] largest lead of the year. They have nearly 170 yards of total offense in this first quarter. [0:22:22] It is going to be an inside run and it's going to be a handoff which is going to be losing [0:22:26] yards there by DeFia Fia, nice job there by Max Forman who's had a really good start to [0:22:30] his season for loss of three yards. We want to remind you that a little Bearcats football, [0:22:35] this first quarter is brought to you by Lucacy Willow Park. And Jojo Cooper has returned [0:22:40] to the lineup after having that equipment issue when he made that fourth down stop a few [0:22:44] moments ago. Kyle's so good to have Jojo back out there. Yeah, and so far both the [0:22:48] ends have made big plays early in this ballgame. That's time Jojo Max Forman able to get [0:22:52] in the backfield and disrupt that trap before there's able to do anything going on earlier. [0:22:56] We saw Jojo Cooper do some similar to receivers to the near side. Tide and lifted up though on [0:23:00] the left side, which is never what you want that to have happen. If you're Aaron Linerweaver [0:23:05] that was Brendan Carey. So it'll be a fall start against the Trojans. And so that'll [0:23:10] mark him back five. Also want to let you know, by the way, the Bearcats, Izzy Roberts off [0:23:16] to a good start to six cares for 34 yards. And again, two really good runs there. And remember [0:23:21] he had that one where he just if he doesn't get the ankle tackles. He's still running. Yeah, [0:23:25] I probably would be watching him run over there toward a halter city right now. So second [0:23:30] down and call it 18 from the Trinity 41 yard line. Trojans are trying to not waste this good [0:23:37] return of the kickoff here. Bearcats would like for them to do that line. We were to throw [0:23:43] under pressure being chased by Dindu and line weaver will throw and it is going to be caught [0:23:48] into Alito territory. They're going nice job. I carry the tide in. He had a man on his back. [0:23:54] It's a pick of a 13 yard. So it brings it now third down and call it manageable. Call [0:23:59] about five yards to go for the Trojans. They have to get to the Bearcat 41. I mean Elijah [0:24:04] Manger was in great position. There was a really good defensive play by him. Just a better [0:24:08] catch. I mean, it's a good throw there by line weaver is tied in. He's able to keep his [0:24:12] feet in bounds and somehow bring that down. Which I mean, it looks like there's no shot of [0:24:15] that happening, but able to pick it up and now they got much a third and much more manageable. [0:24:20] Line line weaver's first completion of the night. Third down and call it five, maybe four [0:24:24] down territory to for the Trojans if they don't convert here. It'll be a play action. Roll [0:24:29] to the left for line. Weaver wants to throw man is wide open with rooms to run down the [0:24:33] near sideline and slipping his Carmelo Gray. Just left unguarded there by the Bearcats [0:24:37] defense, but Gray takes it all the way down to the Alito 33 yard line. It's a 13 yard [0:24:43] pickup and just kind of a bust there on the defense because Gray had no one around him. [0:24:48] Yeah, that was just a blown assignment on the back and the Alito defense there. They [0:24:52] looked like everybody else in the field is covered. There's nobody on the guy who [0:24:56] ended up catching the ball. So you got to be on top of what you're supposed to be doing. [0:24:59] You can't have mental errors. You know, you got most of them. I'm going in this ball [0:25:02] game. You can't let them extend rise by just the mental mistake. Ball on the near hash. [0:25:08] Man comes in motion now sets up as a tight. It'll be a play action for line. Weaver wants [0:25:13] to throw looking for gray down field. Now he'll have to take off and run with it, which [0:25:16] he does gets close to the first down mark, but he'll give you shy of about a yard. He [0:25:22] gets about nine down to the Alito 24 yard line. Tackle was made by Alito safety, blame [0:25:27] Fisher, the senior. So it brings up now second down and call it a yard here as we roll [0:25:32] toward the one minute mark of this first quarter. Alito 10 and Trinity, nothing Kevin Long [0:25:38] Christian Kyle Hicks and the N T X varsity sports.com broadcast booth. Bear cats will substitute [0:25:46] one of their men. They're going to go heavy package on the left side. They will toss it [0:25:49] to the left side and in trouble being trapped in the backfield is Marcus Turner. Three white [0:25:54] jerseys were all around him. One of those was Linden Bell, who was the last man running [0:25:58] onto the field when they got mangroom off and he actually makes the stop for a loss of [0:26:03] about maybe four or five yards back to the Alito 29. Yeah, Alito had a late seven on running [0:26:09] on the field. So Linden, we've got to line was going to try to hurry it up and catch [0:26:13] Alito out of position there, but it really kind of threw his offensive line off and knew [0:26:17] who they were going and pretty much let the entire defensive line in the backfield. For [0:26:21] a pretty big stop there. Now it's third and not so manageable here for the Trinity [0:26:25] Chosen long five short six and it'll be a run over the left side. Once again, this [0:26:31] is going to be Fia Fia and he gets maybe a yard to about the 27 28 yard line. The [0:26:37] bot line of scrimmage was really the 29 yard line. He maybe got a foot to the officially [0:26:41] the 28. So it brings up now fourth down and the first quarter is going to come to a close [0:26:47] here at Pennington Field in Bedford. Well, the early turnover didn't look good for the [0:26:50] bear cats, but they have since responded with 10 points in their last two possessions. [0:26:55] Trinity faces a fourth down when we return for the second quarter after this time out. [0:26:59] It is Alito 10 and Trinity nothing back for the second quarter right after this time [0:27:03] out. This is Coach Jones of the 12th time Texas State Champion Alito Bearcats. [0:28:07] This is Alito Bearcats football on 92.1 and Kevvel. This portion of Alito Bearcats football [0:28:20] is brought to you by Maritz Kia in 4-Earth and Billy Harris Roofing. Same name and number [0:28:24] since 1974. Jaden Boy on to attempt a, looks like to be a 45 yard feel goal. He's made [0:28:31] his only attempt this year. This to give Trinity on the board. The left footed kicker, [0:28:36] weight snap is down, but the block is on and it's a line drive kick and it is no good. [0:28:43] So the Bearcats defense holds the 45 yard feel goal as a side winder and it's no good [0:28:47] and so the Bearcats once again come up with a stop. So let's give you now the Fort [0:28:52] Wars stock yard's Heritage Club first quarter stats. Bearcats with five first downs, Trinity [0:28:57] with one and here's really the difference Kyle Hicks, nine carry 62 rushing yards for [0:29:02] the Bearcats, nine for 11 for Trinity. Bearcats 65 yards through the air for 127 overall, [0:29:08] Trinity with 26 passing yards for 37 yards overall. Time of possession within about a minute [0:29:14] up each other, but the Bearcats running game really, really important to the early start [0:29:17] of this game. Yeah, and I think you got to credit on both sides of the ball to the [0:29:20] lead out line of scrimmage. The offensive line defensive line have come to play tonight. [0:29:24] They're doing a really good job, you know, giving the running backs lanes to operate on [0:29:28] the offensive side and defense are doing a really good job of getting in the backfield [0:29:31] and being disruptive of the Trinity running game. Maddox Nurse will come in motion. They'll [0:29:35] flood the right side. They throw it out to Kane linear of the blocker in front trying [0:29:38] to cut it up the field and he gets across the 30 with this possession starting at the [0:29:43] 28 yard line on a lead side of the field. They will give him six yards for Kane linear [0:29:47] and did a nice job of reading the block where Maddox Nurse pushed the guy to the lead [0:29:51] o sideline, cut it up the field and made the nice gain out of it. And another difference [0:29:54] we saw through that first quarter that we've seen for the first two weeks of the season [0:29:58] is the consistent positive. [0:30:00] It seems like so far for the first two games. It's been one good play, two bad plays. So far tonight, we've been a lot of consistent plays and keeping the ball moving forward and staying out of third and long. Two receivers, either side play, actually passed his caught first down into a Trinity territory. Pass his grab by Colby Thompson, his first grab of the night in his first catch since two weeks ago at North Crowley. It's another Bulgu's concrete finishing an epoxy first down following that pick about 28 yards. [0:30:30] At least right at the seam right there, he's able to get the ball quickly. It's one of one coverage delivers a good ball there to Colby. It is a gift to why Dorsey at the middle. He's met from behind by [0:30:40] Simeisi, now, Poto, one of the defensive tackle. I dare you to say that 10 times. It's a pick up of about one to the 47 yard. I mean, these names are just like a real woo. But we knew that coming in as soon as this game was scheduled back in February. So [0:30:58] second down and call it a long nine for the bear cats here. Two receivers to the near side, two to the far side, ball on the far [0:31:05] hash from where we're doing it. It'll be a gift to Dorsey. He's trapped in the back of tries to cut it up field and actually does make a [0:31:11] positive play on that nice job there by why Adorsey. They're going to say he stepped out of bounds at about the 20 to the 45 yard line. [0:31:19] And so they'll say he got two yards to the 45 yard line. And so it actually could have been a lot worse. Yeah, really good [0:31:26] job. My white Dorsey making something out there. He was dead to ride. A Trinity had him dead to rise in the backfield there. He's able to make a man miss [0:31:34] though. I send that play out to the sideline. He's able to get a little bit of daylight and at least get the ball going in the right direction [0:31:39] there and making them third and much more manageable than it would have been. Third and seven for the bear cats at the Trinity 45 yard line. Two receivers to the [0:31:46] near side tied into the left. That's Thompson Williams to throw fires of the right side passes caught for first down at the 30 yard line. That's [0:31:53] Caden Palmquist with the grab. Our bigger part in making the grab is landing Kusich his first grab of the season. And he takes it on down to the 27. It's a pick up of 17 yards to the 27 yard line. [0:32:07] Another ball goes construction first down. Bear cats move from their 44 to the 28 yard line 45 yard under the 28 yard line in Trinity sideline. [0:32:17] A Mari Dimbo who we had mentioned last week will be playing right tackle sometimes when the bear cats start to move deep into the other side of the field is in at right tackle here. But before they do that. [0:32:29] Trinity wants to call its first time out and they do here with 929 to play in the first half in this second quarter. Alito 10. Trinity nothing. And as you were saying before we came back to start the second quarter. [0:32:40] Doesn't even look like the same team. No it doesn't. I mean the the energy levels across the board for Alito is just it looks night and day that has been start this season the other flying around. [0:32:50] You know I really impressed with how trade Williams is playing tonight. He's had a lot of different angled throws. He's had to make tonight. He's done a really good job for the most part of delivering catchable balls to his receivers. And as receivers are doing a good good job. I've run in after the catch now up front the offensive line. [0:33:05] It's really made some some big strides here lately and against a really stout physical defensive line that Trinity has. They've done a really good job of moving them off the ball and given why it dorsi nizi robert's room to operate so as far as from the offense what we've seen the first two weeks to now. [0:33:19] I mean it looks like a completely different ball. We'll go to the sidelines and here's Mercedes. I was just going to jump on a Mari Dimbo coming in on offense. He did come in on several plays last week and coach Jones said after the game. [0:33:30] He told a Marri told coach Jones that he could play both ways the whole time if he needed him to and coach Jones says we're not going to do that. But as you see he's going to come in on some of these more closer to red zone situations. [0:33:42] On a first and 10 at the 28 yard line pressures on the tried to dump the screen out past his cut. This is this is Paul. Of course this time with room to run inside the 15 inside the 10 and he gets a first down to the eight yard line. It'll be a first and goal for the bear cats following that 20 yard catch and run. [0:33:58] It is another bull goose construction first down and the bear cats knocking on the door first and goal. Yeah, another screen pass that time to the outside there. He gets the right side of the offensive line out in front of him. [0:34:09] They bring pressure once again. Trade Williams delivers another good ball there and they're able to run and get it down inside the 10 yard line. The bear cats are really leaning heavily on the screen game here, which is something they clearly game planned. [0:34:21] They clearly game plan throughout the week. They saw something on film and they're really exploding here early this ballgame. By the way, we have a stoppage here. It's one of the Trinity players has an equipment issue. That's the left cornerback. Nataurian writes. So he has to come off the field. He's going to be replaced by. [0:34:38] It looks like that's going to be Joseph Lolo here. So I beg your pardon, that's going to be Josiah Burnett that comes in there. So the substitution is made first and goal for the bear cats. There's no official timeout taken by either team. That's an official stoppage. [0:34:52] First and goal and now we now have another official time out here. And I think Trinity. [0:34:57] Yeah, Trinity will take it. They'll burn their second one here. So we will take it with them nine minutes and 10 seconds to play 30 seconds here. Bear cats 10 trying to add to it leading over Trinity by score of 10 and nothing back after this time out. [0:35:11] Tired of endless buffering just because of where you live. [0:35:41] And KFM high school scoreboard show immediately following the elite O'Barek at high school football broadcast on 92.1 KFM. [0:35:53] Kevin Longquist and Kyle Hicks back in the N T X varsity sports.com broadcast booth. The bear cat space a first and goal at the Trinity eight yard line. What do you like here Kyle? [0:36:03] You know, like the the first down here. You got to think put the ball in the running backs hands. Give them a chance to try to get a little closer to the to the goal. That doesn't work. You can try to get trade Williams. Find somebody up the scene. Well, they got the power pistol formation. They do give it to Dorsey as Kaden Palmquist was the blocking back there, but that blows up on the bear cats for a loss of about two yards. [0:36:22] And as we're coming back, the bear cats just ran their 26th play from that running play. They have doubled up the number of plays at Trinity's offices run 26 to 13 and indication of just how much things have changed. Yeah, I mean, they really have been dominant here in this first half on both sides of the ball. They just done a good job. They taking care of it. And, you know, they just continue to get positive place here. [0:36:43] Wildcat formation to why a Dorsey he looks for a block and I take it over the right side breaks the tackle at the five will die forward into the end zone touchdown a little bear cats. [0:36:53] That's a great run there by why a Dorsey as he waited patiently found the opening at the five and then just shut forward and got the touchdown. [0:37:00] Now, you know, you got to give credit up front to the lead offense of line and the right side of the offensive line. Gavin Holt Dean Timberman did really good job opening the space there and why Dorsey the wildcat package there is able to press the line of scrimmage there. [0:37:12] The gap opens up and he's able to make one man missing for the big score here to make this a three score game Hudson parks on for the extra point and the kick is on the wave. [0:37:21] This kick is brought to you by your local sports clips and it is good 829 to play here in the second quarter. It is now Alito 17 and training nothing back after this time out. [0:38:11] Bearcats about to kick off leading 17 to nothing. Let's tell you how they got to 17 to nothing. This scoring drive is brought to you by CSG West granite and flooring a place 72 yards, three minutes and 36 seconds off the clock. [0:38:24] Why a dorsi with a 10 yard touchdown run his second touchdown of the season. The bear cats do take advantage when they hold Trinity to a misfeel goal of 45 yards and they now have a three score advantage. [0:38:35] Now time for our kickoff brought to you by our friends at miser orthodontics glad to have them back with us and the kickoff is Jackson Russell. It's a high pooching kick and it's going to be fair caught at about the 28 yard line. [0:38:46] Faircatch was made by Trinity's Carmelo Gray and after the last kickoff was returned to nearly midfield the bear cats special teams coaches and now I think we'll just pooch at this time. [0:38:58] So first intent for Trinity at its 28 yard line and so everything for the bear cats from an operational standpoint working so well tonight they are near 200 yards of total offense. [0:39:08] Yeah and what the defense has done so well so far in this ballgame is get the Trinity offense you know off their schedule you know they're doing a good job on early downs getting in the backfield disrupting the running game which is what Trinity leans on they want to get you know good runs on first and second down to make third damn more manageable and the lead has done a good job at disrupting that so far. [0:39:26] Line weaver now with his team trailing by three squirts but they'll run it over the left side and nothing doing their max form in with another great stop in the backfield of Marcus turnahe just charge from the outside read that beautifully and it's a loss of about three max form and having a heck of a game here so far in this first half he's just able to get get across the tackles face there into the backfield ahead him for a loss there and you know like Alito found out the first couple weeks you know when you're starting these series you know first down if you lose three or four yards it makes it much tougher to try to keep your offense on the first [0:39:56] field and Alito's defense has done such a good job so far I'm getting. [0:40:00] Getting in the backfield and just being disruptive. So second and 13 at the 24-yard line for the Trojans, Lineweaver will work, he will play action now rolled to the right, will take off and run, closing on three jerseys on him. Ashton Abel hits him before he keeps his feet, keeps going and then he's finally escorted out a bounce at about the 29 yard line. He got five yards there. Time and meek's chased him out of bounds there. I was and so did Cooper Ho. I was afraid that the Bearcats might get hit with a late hit out of bounds, but the officials [0:40:30] used some pretty good judgment there to give him the benefit of the doubt of their momentum. Yeah, and you got to give Lineweaver credit in that situation. He made about six different guys miss. [0:40:37] Yeah, had him several times. Nobody wrapped up. You know, you got to finish the play there and you allowed him, you know, get out of a couple, should have been tackles in that situation and get it to where now it's third and third and nine instead of third and 15. [0:40:49] It's a pick up of five for Lineweaver on that scramble. So they have to get to the 27 yard line ball resting at their 29 lineweaver with three receivers to the far side under pressure by DINBOO escapes with room to run has close to the first [0:41:02] on yardage does get it. He gets pushed out of bounds on around the 37 yard line. I said that he was going to get it, but man, it was closer than I thought it was because the first down markers on the [0:41:12] Alito sideline and he was pushed out of bounds in front of the Trinity bench, but it really looked like to me that he got it and they are signaling first down for Lineweaver who's had a scramble for these last 13 yards, if you will. Yeah, that's really the only thing that's so far. So I've been able to really, you know, hurt the bear cuts defense is when it's a broken play in the backfield and line lineweaver is able to escape the pocket. He's done a good job, especially these last couple plays of making stuff happen with his legs. [0:41:37] London Bell is a defensive tackle and for a Marri DINBOO who remember played right tackle on that last scoring position toward the end of that last [0:41:44] scoring position for the bear cats. First antenna at the 37 play action fake for lineweaver wants to throw now chases and takes off of that running room and he'll slide down at about the 42 yard line. Remember, it's not where you finish your slide. It's where you start your slide. And so lineweaver slides for five to the 42 yard line. A bear cat defender came in on high, but no flag. [0:42:05] Yeah, and once again, you know, nothing down filled for lineweaver takes off those legs at time. [0:42:09] Leave it as a better job of limiting how effective he can be on the ground. [0:42:14] Approaching the midway part of this second quarter here again, a delayed start of about 52 minutes because of lightning. [0:42:21] No rain fell here in Bedford, but again, nothing doing down the second downplay. It is a give over the right side with running room near the first down marker. [0:42:33] And that was [0:42:36] Fia, Fia who gets the carry for the five yards and the first down. So the Trojan's running game, which has been scrambles for the most part from lineweaver, but then this carry a positive play gets the Trojan's another first down here to their 47. [0:42:50] Six play of the possession coming up Kevin Long, Quistand Kyle Hicks coming to you from Pennington Field and Bedford. [0:42:55] Good to be back here our first trip here since 2018 when the bear cats were in the 5a playoffs when they played Lucas Lovejoy won that game 62 28. [0:43:03] That was a Saturday afternoon and we got a time out. We actually got a flag and we got a procedure penalty coming up on the Trojans. So that'll back them up five. [0:43:12] Again, first ever meeting between these two programs. They've met a lot. And I can remember when I was doing sidelines and doing the half time report where I would be talking about [0:43:22] sub varsity games between Alito and Trinity. So nice to see these two get together. And what's funny here Kyle is the fact that [0:43:29] programs like these really struggle to try and find non-district components. And so they wind up playing each other. And so they're willing to kind of you will beat the daylights out of each other. [0:43:37] Before they get into district play. Yeah, this is the first thing this is the first matchups considering to really held the proximity to the schools that you think would have happened by now. [0:43:46] Play action on first and 15 lineweaver will dump it out passes caught by [0:43:51] the FIA and he's making the tackle is blame Fisher for no gain on that. So they tried to roll them out and try to little do a catch and run there. [0:44:02] Excuse me. Ashen Abel on that stop. It's really good really good open field tackle there by Abel. You know, him one on one of this man. He's able to bring him down for really no gain in that situation. [0:44:12] Keep in mind to the bear cats had a second defense had this Trinity off in second and 13 before lineweaver scrambled for about seven yards. [0:44:21] And so this is second down and call it 15 coming up at the 41 yard line lineweaver to throw now we'll take off and run has some running [0:44:30] room across the 45 gets to the midfield stripe and just like he did on that second down play a few moments ago. He gets about 10 yards to the Alito 49 yard line. [0:44:38] Bring it up third down and call it six. And we got an injured bear cat on the field. It's playing Fisher who's down and needing some assistance from Troy Phillips and his crew. [0:44:50] He's able to stand up and looks like he's holding his left side as we like to say with hot like hockey likes to say it's an upper body injury. [0:44:57] But it kind of looks like he's favoring like his left arm. I don't want to look like he's shoulder but looks like he's kind of holding his arm a little bit. [0:45:04] I looks like a might got a stinger there but you know I think the way this this drive has progressed. [0:45:08] Lea is going to have to start thinking about putting you know a spy on lineweaver because really that's that's what's hurt him so far. [0:45:14] That's all the thing. Trinity's been really able to do consistently in game yards. So you know lineweaver he's he's dropping back. [0:45:21] Nothing's available. He's making stuff happen to his legs and he's just nobody been there to account for him. [0:45:25] So being an adjustment we need to see Alito try to make here going forward. [0:45:30] Lineweaver five carries 37 yards and to show you what he had done in the first two games against Richardson Berkner in Austin West like he only had eight [0:45:37] carries for six yards. So and that looked like a design quarterback draw by him just a few moments ago. [0:45:43] So third down and call it six at the Alito 49 have to get to the bearcat 43 here. [0:45:48] It'll be a play action actually a give over the right side to turner. [0:45:51] He gets a couple of yards doesn't get the first down. [0:45:54] He gets three to the 46 yard line. So it brings up now fourth down and three and you know Aaron lineweaver's going for it because that running play indicated that if we don't get it on third down we're definitely going for it on four. [0:46:04] Yeah, this is another big play here in this ball game. You know you got three and a half minutes for half here. [0:46:08] The lia can find a way to get them off the field. You know what you want to do is prevent a score here, especially because Trinity will get the ball to start the second half. [0:46:18] Bearcats are going to show basically a five man front here with Dimboo, London bell and time and makes on this fourth and three have to get to the 43 yard line. [0:46:25] Bearcats have made two stops on fourth down. It'll be play action and being brought down with a sack Max form and gets a [0:46:32] Mac lineweaver back at the 43 yard line and Trinity territory. [0:46:36] The bearcats make another fourth down stand and the reason why I said Aaron lineweaver is because I saw Aaron play so many times back in my early reporting days that I was just instinctively going to call him that. [0:46:47] But a sack for the bearcats their first of the night they get another fourth down stop and the bearcats will start at the Trinity 46 with 324 to play in the half. [0:46:55] Great job once again Max form and coming off the edge there lineweaver they're trying to set up a play action pass and take a shot downfield. [0:47:02] It's a slow developing play bearcats brought more than they could block on that left side of the offensive line and Max. [0:47:08] He was a good job of or excuse Max form and there's a good job of finishing that playoff and getting that bearcats offense. [0:47:14] Another opportunity here just before half two receivers to either side of the field ball on the near hash for tray Williams with Izzy Roberts is running back. [0:47:22] It'll be a gift to Roberts up the middle he gets a couple of yards inside the 45 yard line. [0:47:27] They may be given to the 44 yard line. [0:47:29] The bearcats have their full complement of timeouts of three plus they also have the two minute timeout. [0:47:34] So it's kind of like they have a lot of things with their disposal here. [0:47:38] They can be patient for now and then but I think the second downplay will be kind of important to see how they want to [0:47:43] play the rest of the possession. [0:47:45] I mean you can be patient with the amount of time left but you don't want to be complacent in this situation. [0:47:49] You got to keep the foot on the gas pedal and try to go get some more points here. [0:47:53] You know you've sort of a hole in there have to play your offense has played well so far. [0:47:56] Trey Williams is showing some consistency here. [0:47:58] So I think you got to like where you are if you're Robbie Jones in this situation. [0:48:01] It's second and eight. [0:48:02] Nussbaum comes in motion Williams to throw past his cop by linear but it was behind the linear so he didn't have [0:48:07] so he basically had to reverse himself and because of that he only got about a yard out of that. [0:48:12] If that ball is throwing a little bit more on time into a spot I think Kane has a little bit more [0:48:17] room to run but instead it's only a yard pickup here and the bearcats don't have to run another [0:48:22] play here as we are near in the two minute timeout. [0:48:25] Yeah that that screams to the sidelines all about timing. [0:48:28] You know that that ball is not in front of the receiver like that it throws everything off. [0:48:31] He's got to go back to get that the the window or the lane they're trying to get out of that play. [0:48:36] Usually it's disappeared by that point. [0:48:37] Well the bearcats act like they do want to run this play before the two minute timeout and they do [0:48:41] Williams to throw past his cop first down at the 30 yard line down to the 29 yard line. [0:48:47] It's a 14 yard pickup there by Kaden Palmquest who makes the grab the bearcats get their [0:48:53] bull goose construction first down and that does take us to the two minute timeout as they convert on [0:48:58] third down back with the final two minutes of the first half after this it's a Lido 17 and [0:49:02] 20 to nothing you're listening to bearcat football on Hank FM. [0:49:07] Meritz Kia invite you to see what Kia has to offer see the all new redesign 2027 Kia tell you [0:49:13] ride it's impressive to say the least with the starting MSRP of just 40,000 735 plus T TNL [0:49:19] and don't miss the all new 2027 Kia Celto's with the starting MSRP of only 26 485 plus T TNL [0:49:26] the choices yours let us help you make a good one Meritz Kia the best name in the business back [0:49:30] by the best warranty in the business Meritz Kia and Fort Worth perched or aligned. [0:49:36] Willa Park Baptist Church half time report will come your way next we will have the [0:49:41] Alito sports page with Mercedes as district volleyball is underway we'll also have the recruiting [0:49:47] minute brought to by rivals Billy M. Body that's brought to you by our new sponsor next [0:49:52] link internet we'll also have a comment from Alito head coach Robbie Jones that's brought to [0:49:56] by Jack Metals and we'll have a statistical breakdown [0:50:00] The Bearcats, having this lead at 17 to nothing, trying to make it more than that. Here at the 159 mark, Kevin Lonnquist and Kyle Hix in the NTX varsity sports.com broadcast booth. On 1st and 10 at the 29-yardline Trinity territory, passes thrown over the middle and it is going to be caught for a touchdown. Kane Lanier comes up with it. He had two men on him and he was able to make the grab. That ball was perfectly thrown. Maybe the best throw that Tre Williams has thrown. [0:50:33] He's in long. He threaded the needle on that one. The Bearcats go up 23 to nothing. You really see in Tre Williams start to kind of put it together here. What an outstanding pass. There's two defenders on either side of the line. He had no room to miss in that situation. Put the ball right where it needs to be. Kane Lanier makes a difficult touch to bring that down and make it a 24-nothing lead here now for the Bearcats. [0:50:56] Jaden Boye with the extra point. It is good. It's brought to you by your local sports clips. We'll keep it here with 149 to play. I really thought the Bearcats were going to be a little bit more if you were patient, methodical and kind of navigate the rest of the field and not let Trinity have much of the clock to work with here. [0:51:11] When I talked to Robbie Jones after we talked on the pre-game show, he really felt like Tre had a great practice. You know, coaches will say that all the time. [0:51:25] But he felt like Tre really had a good practice on Thursday. Something might have clicked in him and boy, we are definitely seeing it right now. [0:51:32] Now Tre Williams right now, 10 out of 15 for 169 yards, two touchdowns. And remember, his first pass was intercepted. But since then, he's been on fire. [0:51:42] No, he has a 10-yard run for a first day. And it's not just a little quick outpasses slansk in the ball. That one was just down the field, pushed the ball down the field on a dime there and he did a good job. [0:51:53] We're seeing a lot of different throws from him tonight. You know, he's been able to really fired in there. He's able to put some touch on it. [0:52:00] We're seeing a lot of different things that we haven't seen up until this point. So, you know, Tre Williams can continue to play like this. [0:52:06] There's a leader of teams can go a long way. [0:52:09] Miser, orthodontics with his pooch kick off the foot of Jackson, Russell, and it is going to be fair caught at the 30 yard line. [0:52:16] The CSG West granite and foreign drive summary for the bear cats to go up 24 and I think four plays, 46 yards. [0:52:24] The 29-yard touchdown pass from Williams to Kane Lanier. And for Kane Lanier, by the way, that's his first touchdown grab of the season. 135 came off the clock. And again, coming from a stop that the defense got on four-town big sack. [0:52:38] By Max Foreman set the bear cats up and they took advantage. Yeah, they did. And you know, that's what we've seen so far. [0:52:44] And not that we played a lot of complimentary football. The defense gets off the field. The offense has been able to go and make something of it. [0:52:51] So, you know, they don't have a good job this first half. He's at the game four score lead for the bear cats and Aaron line weaver will play conservative with a running play up the middle. [0:52:58] It's a pick up of two yards there by Marcus Turner as Kane weaver makes the stop. [0:53:06] He's kind of bouncing around a little giddy about things on there. Of course, the bear cats. There have been a lot to be excited about the first two games. [0:53:13] And remember that North Crowley game two weeks ago, maybe not an indicative of what this season could become because the fact that North Crowley might be at another level lost a 50-50 game last week to make a midway. [0:53:25] But certainly a different team denied up 24 and not there. Yeah, there's there's plenty of confidence tonight on all phases of the game. [0:53:31] They're flying around. They have a ton of energy, which you know we hadn't seen this there the first couple weeks direction. [0:53:36] Now comes to Turner once again. He goes up the middle for two yards as we are rolling inside of one minute to play here in the first half. [0:53:45] The bear cats still have all three of their timeouts here. See if they want to burn one here. Robbie Jones is going to allow the clock to run here. [0:53:55] I don't think Aaron line weaver really wants to mess with this. He's going to probably do another running play. If they get it first down, then maybe they would change it. [0:54:04] Remember the Trojan only have one timeout left and Trinity is two out of six on third down. That's refreshing because wake of midway last week was put 10 out of 12. [0:54:13] Was that what it was? So third down and call it a long seven for the Trojans out there 33 yard line. Clock running inside of 20 seconds. [0:54:22] And so play clock at one and they do get it snap. This will be a quarterback run by Mac line weaver and he gets to the 36 yard line. [0:54:28] And Robbie Jones will burn a timeout. It's a pick up of three yards to the 36 yard lines. So the bear cat stopped the clock with 12 seconds and minus will take a shot here. See if you either a you can get a punt block. [0:54:41] But I think they're going to put the punt safe on you would think. Yeah. And if they can get a return. Maybe that see where that takes them. Yeah, I think they'll hopefully get Jordan Hall back there and give them an opportunity. [0:54:50] You know, it was last week you did return one for a touchdown. I was just called back. Be a penalty there. So you may have got that that ability in them. So taking maybe get him the ball in his hands and see what can happen here. [0:55:00] Just over 10 seconds left in his first half. You got to take that chance. [0:55:05] Now the bear cats have been opportunistic and really this whole I think the whole tide of the game changed right in the opening moments when Williams those the interception at the 28 yard line in the bear cats get a stop on fourth and two with their at their 20 yard line. They actually throw markers turn her back for a two yard loss big stop there by Jojo Cooper. [0:55:23] And then they took it down and scored on that go up seven nothing. And it's been pretty much all bear cats ever since. Yeah, I mean the defense. You know, getting that stop early in the game was just a huge momentum for the bear cats because you know, [0:55:34] they put them in a really tough spot, deep in their own territory and they're able to get them off the field stop him on fourth down in the offense. Takes an opportunity and goes all the way down the field and puts points on the board. [0:55:44] And really it's been that that's what we've seen since that moment. The offense has done a good job consistently moving the ball, putting points on the board and the defense has been able to hold strong. Now Trinity has had some issues with its punning game so far this year. [0:55:57] last week against Austin West like they had a punt block that was returned for a touchdown. [0:56:02] They also had a bad snap against Berkner in the opener. [0:56:05] This snap cleaned the boy. [0:56:06] He gets it away. [0:56:07] The left footer high end over and Cooper Hall will let it bounce at the Alito 30 to the [0:56:12] 20 and he's going to run away from it and the ball will roll out and it'll be dead [0:56:17] and at the 11 yard line and that's actually the way the first half is going to end. [0:56:21] Well, it's all been bear, all been the bear cats here in the first half in the mid cities [0:56:25] and a nice refreshing change here for Alito football. [0:56:29] They have a 24 and nothing lead over the Trinity Trojans here as the teams head to the locker [0:56:34] room. [0:56:35] Stick around the Willow Park Baptist Church half time report comes your way next with Mercedes. [0:56:39] You're listening to Alito Berkner's football on 92.1 Hank FM. [0:58:09] We believe that Jesus Christ can make a difference in your life and in the life of your family. [0:58:14] I'd like to take this opportunity to personally invite you and your family to attend one of [0:58:18] our Sunday Morning Services at 830 or 10 and again that evening at 5PM. [0:58:22] For more information, visit our website www.WillapartBab [0:58:41] at www.WillapartBab.com [0:59:01] This is Steeley Bryce. [0:59:56] I'm here at Pinnington Field. [0:59:57] So we're going to go through the Alito Sports page, what's been happening. [1:00:00] Other sports at Aledo High School, we're going to start with Aledo's freshman football teams. They traveled to Trinity this week for actually three games against the Trojans and they played strong in all three games. There was a black two and a black one team both had shut out victories and the orange team battle back from an early deficit had an opportunity to win on the final play but wound up losing 28-22. So the black team got the day started with black two taking the field first. Bearcats build a 32 to nothing lead into the fourth quarter. [1:00:30] Before lightning forced the game to be called early, which of course were an hour late right now because of lightning around this area as well. So a black one followed with another dominant defensive performance, shutting out Trinity 20 to nothing. All three of Aledo's touchdowns came on runs by Zieg Bryant and the Bearcats control the game on both sides of the ball. And again, 120 to nothing. So again, they split that black team into two. So the orange team faced a different challenge against a physical Trinity offense. The Trojans were powered. [1:00:59] By a massive offensive line, sounds familiar that repeatedly helped them convert fourth downs and extend drives, which kept Aledo offence off the field until the second quarter. [1:01:10] Early mistakes put the Bearcats in a two touchdown hole but Aledo refused to fold and gauge Wilburn was named the Bearcats player of the game after contributing at both safety and quarterback. [1:01:19] Wilburn provided Aledo's first score with interception return while Jacob Klucky added two touchdown receptions. [1:01:26] The Bearcats also recovered two on side kicks in the fourth quarter, giving the cells a chance to complete the comeback. And they, like I said, the orange team ultimately fell 28-22, but they did fight throughout the second half and the coaches were proud of that continued battle. [1:01:40] JV Orange came away with a 31-6 victory over Trinity last night. So your Smith led the offense at quarterback. While the offensive line did a great job creating running lanes for Sky Bradford, Kevin Jones and Western Fowler each found the in zone with receiving touchdowns. [1:01:54] And the defense was flying around all night, forcing a handful of turnovers and running to the football from start to finish. [1:02:00] The coaches also proud of them and the way that they played together and competed. The JV Black team battled to a seven-nothing victory over Trinity last night. [1:02:12] Quarterback Preston Tubbs turned in a great performance making big plays and leading the offense with the games only touchdown. [1:02:18] Running back Rudy Hubbard ran hard and kept the Bearcats moving and tied in Bryce Taggart came up with a big catch when the Bearcats needed it. [1:02:25] Special teams also made an impact with receiver Riley Brock making a great great play to help swing momentum Alito's way. [1:02:31] And the defense was outstanding, Cash Keaton and Logan, excuse me, Logan Irland led the way with tough physical play to keep the Trojans off the scoreboard. [1:02:40] So again, the Black team, Alito JV Black team, seven and Trinity zero. Up next for volleyball, we weren't able to update you last Friday on the Lady Cat's playing Highland Park. [1:02:52] Again, highly anticipated matchup between two really, really good teams, Highland Park and the Lady Cat's played in the state semi-final last year. [1:03:01] And so they played last Friday night. The Lady Cat varsity volleyball team lost in a hard fought five set match, 26-24, 2025, 23-25, 25-15 and 12-15. [1:03:13] Leading the team and kills in that match is Kayleigh Berkeley with 25, Lily Morris had 10 and Brindley Schneider had 8. [1:03:20] Carson Evans had three aces and Charlotte Gartner had two. Harper Harbuck with 40 assists and Carson Evans with 9. [1:03:28] Carson Evans also leading the team in digs with 27. Kayleigh Berkeley had 14, Clara Devaney had 13. Harper Harbuck 18 and Alandra had delgado 16. [1:03:38] And then Kennedy Christie led the team in blocks with six and Lily Morris had five. And then on Tuesday, the Lady Cat started district play with a program sweep of Grandberry, the varsity won 25-17, 25-13, 25-19. [1:03:51] Kayleigh Berkeley once again leading the team with kills with 16 and Brindley Schneider and Meakom's each had five kills. [1:03:59] Kayleigh Berkeley had three aces and Clara Devaney two. Harper Harbuck leading the team with 28 assists and then Carson Evans leading the team with 18 digs. [1:04:08] Kayleigh Berkeley contributed 15 digs. Harper Harbuck with 14 and Alandra delgado with 9. And then Kennedy Christie, Lily Morris and Kayleigh Berkeley each had two blocks in that one. [1:04:19] Tonight, they were playing Martin at home and I've not received the results of that one, so we will get you updated with that whenever we come back next week. [1:04:28] And then we also talked about the cross country team last weekend, competing in really their toughest race this season at Marcus Coach, she had a lot of dintin. [1:04:38] This one's a little different. You have an elite boys and elite girls races. And so both the varsity boys and girls compete in those elite races and the boys finish third out of 48 teams and the girls finish fourth out of 38 teams into extremely competitive fields. [1:04:55] Congratulations to both of them. They also two top 10 individual finishers with [1:05:00] Tyler Connolly, racing to fourth place in 1435 and Holland Gladshuck finishing 10th in 1806. And so again, great job to both to the girls and boys track teams. They actually ran this morning at the college in [1:05:14] college station at the Texas and the MNF, and I've not received those results yet either. So we'll get you those next Friday whenever we are back on the air. And that is all I have for the Aledo Sports page. Again, right now at Pinington Field. [1:05:29] If you're wondering why we're on so late, it's because we started about an hour late with some lightning delays, but the bearcats lead the Trinity Trojans 24 to nothing at Pinington Field. [1:05:37] And when we come back, we'll get some scores from around the area with more bear and coming up more bearcats football on 92.1 Hank FM. First of all, Weatherford beating Pasco last night 31-21. [1:08:29] We've got a lot of time to run to 18 and also Arlington Lamar beating Justin Northwest 33-15. At half time, Arlington, Buie 7 and Halton 3. Also at half time, Arlington, Martin 31, and Crowley 7. [1:08:45] Again, half time again. It looks like everybody had a delay at least in that area in the Southern part, Arlington area. So Sam Houston 38, Cleaver and Zero at half time. [1:08:56] And then again, half time Arlington Colts 27, Red Hawk 20, and then also at half time, Grandbury 35 and Irving 13. [1:09:06] Other scores from around the area. Keller beat McKinney Boyd 41-27. In the end of the first quarter, it is Trofi Club, Ryron Nelson 10 and Rockwall Heath 6. [1:09:20] In the third quarter, Keller Central 34, Carrollton Creek View 7. [1:10:14] And then half time, Lewisville leading Ditton Ryan 28 to 17. See some 5A Division 1 scores for you really quickly. Get into our area here. [1:10:27] Last night, Aisle beat Irving MacArthur 49 to 41. Last night, Naaman Forest beat Saginaw 45 to 9. Also, I believe last night, Chisholm Trail defeating Arlington Seguin 50-42. [1:10:42] Didn't a North Garland are playing in the first quarter. At half time, Great Vine leads Keller fossil Ridge 14-13. [1:10:53] At half time, Argaal Liberty Christian leads Sherman 42 to nothing. And let's see. [1:11:05] I think that's probably about all we're going to give you here tonight from around this area again. It looks like just about everybody in the mid cities Arlington area was pretty delayed. [1:11:15] So we are also delayed an hour here about an hour in a Pittington field and the Bearcats lead Trinity 24 to 0. [1:11:24] And the Trinity Trojan Band is about to take the field. So when we come back, we'll get a recruiting minute and then some half time stats, which I think are probably the best half time stats we've seen all year. [1:11:35] So that's good. That'll be fun. And then we'll get Robbie Jones as we come out of half time and get ready to start the second half on the Willal Park Baptist Church. [1:11:42] Half time show here on 92.1 Hank FM. He caught up with Kevin Lankwist on the coaches show this week and was able to share more of that relationship being the key with Retlashley. [1:13:31] Just that relatability from the moment he met him at camp really helped SMU land Alito Bearcats Caden Palm Quest in their 2028 recruiting class over the likes of Baylor, Arkansas and others across the country. [1:13:45] He's not the only bear cat that'll be headed off to play at the next level in that 2028 class. [1:15:30] Time now to take a look at our half time stats brought to you by 4 or stock yard's Heritage Club. A lot of good numbers here for the Bearcats. They had 10 first downs to Trinity's 3. The Bearcats 76 yards rushing. Trinity with 42. The Bearcats are averaging nearly 5.5 yards per carry. Trinity just barely over 2. A lot of those coming late when it was on the legs of Mackline, we were their quarterback. [1:16:23] They've been able to move the ball. They've been able to run the ball. They've pushed the ball down the field. The screen game has been working for them. [1:16:35] They've been able to move the ball last week. They've finished almost every single drive they've had. They've had the score is 24-0 right now. [1:16:55] We want to see him come back up in the second half and continue to be aggressive and keep running the offense away. [1:17:04] It reminds me of the line from Pick Your Fox or WB Drama Show, like One Tree Hill or 902-0 where someone says to somebody about their offense, I don't even know who you are anymore. [1:17:19] It's not completely different look. The way they played with energy and flying around, it's been a lot of fun to watch. [1:17:26] Continuing with the stats that are brought to you by Fort Worth Stockyard's Heritage Club, we will get a comment from Robbie Jones here when Mercedes is able to get with him. [1:17:35] Following the Interception by Trey Williams, which is on the second play of the game, Clean Ever Since Trinity has not turned it over via Interception or Fumble. [1:17:44] There hasn't even been a lost Fumble or Fumble on the ground by either team so far. Bearcats really good on third down so far. They are 4 out of 6. Trinity is 2 out of 7. [1:17:53] The Bearcats average need, though, of course they love to live dangerously. They're average need is 7. Trinity's average need is 5. [1:18:00] Now, one of the big parts of this game is on 4th down. Bearcats have not needed to attempt to 4th down conversion. Trinity has done it twice and remembered the first one was down inside the Bearcats Red Zone. [1:18:13] And that's when the Bearcats got the stop there, they were able to fuel them for their first touchdown. And then when they got the second one, that's on the Max Forman sack of Mack line-weaver that set up the third touchdown of the first half. [1:18:27] Alito has not punted tonight. Trinity's punting 2 for 46 in the last one covered by 57 yards on the punt and roll. [1:18:33] Penalties in the ballgame, Bearcats have been good and that's one thing that they've been really good at so far this year is the penalties. Only one for Trinity with 3 for 24. [1:18:41] And remember 14 of that came on a hit out of bounds of busy Roberts that set up the field goal. 10 minutes and 24 seconds of clock time Alito possession. Trinity with 11 minutes and 36 seconds. [1:18:53] So here's how it got started. We mentioned the 4th down stop by the Alito defense. That set up a 7th play 78 yard drive. [1:19:00] 22 yard touchdown pass from Tray Williams to Cain Linear and it made it 7-0-650 to play first quarter. That was Alito's first lead of the year. [1:19:08] Then following another stop after a stop by the defense, the Bearcats got it back. They got a big run there from Izzy Roberts. [1:19:16] We mentioned the personal foul penalty. It wound up being a 29 yard field goal. The first field goal make of the season for Hudson Parks that made it 10-0 and that's what it was after the first quarter. [1:19:27] It became 2017 to nothing in the early stages of the third quarter on a wide Dorsi 10 yard touchdown run and then right before the end of the half 29 yard touchdown pass between Williams and Cain Linear. [1:19:38] They hooked up twice so far tonight and this was probably the best ball that Tray Williams has thrown this year. 29 yards. Thread the needle with two defenders on Cain Linear. [1:19:47] Yeah, I mean it clearly was the best he's done because I mean it was not an easy throw. He had defenders on either side of Cain when he's running up the scene there and Tray Williams had to put it. He only had about one spot he could put it in. [1:19:59] He was able to float the ball over the top of his receiver there and drop it in right where it needed to be for the big touchdown right before the half. [1:20:05] So I mean I was a huge pass for you not only for the team but you know scoring the touchdown. But for him I think confidence wise because up until this game we hadn't seen him really have a lot of success with a lot of different passes tonight. [1:20:17] He's been able to kind of do whatever they've asked him to do and do it well and it's one of the reasons the offense is done. So did as well as it did in the first half. [1:20:25] Individually for the bear catch Tray Williams had that one carry for 10 yards which was a big play for them which kept a scoring drive going his first. [1:20:32] One of his more positive plays with his feet this year. Easy Robert seven carries for 36 yards wide Dorsey six for 30 in a touchdown. [1:20:40] Williams through the air 10 out of 15 one interception 186 yards in the two scores. So as I'm going to throw this down to Mercedes who's going to talk with Robbie Jones which is brought to by Jack Metals LLC. [1:20:51] You can quote Robbie those numbers if you want there Mercedes. I was kind of listening but kind of not one 86. [1:20:57] 186. So they are two touchdowns 186 through the air and two touchdowns is what I'm being told in my ears. But so you probably like that you probably like what you've seen offensively but you also know what kind of a team you're playing. [1:21:07] How do you kind of keep your foot on the gas a little bit. I mean that's what we talked about before we came out is you know we got a great start you know except for the first drive. [1:21:15] You know we've done what we wanted to do we got to go finish the game off you know that's something we talked about all offseason is finish what we start you know get out there you know start fast and then go play fast the whole game and finish up the team off. [1:21:28] One of the things we talked about this week was also consistency. Have you seen that in your team. Yeah we've been playing a little bit better consistently you know the last two weeks it would be a couple of plays here and there and then you know bad things will happen but you know tonight we've seen a little bit more consistency especially. [1:21:44] On the offense you know of course defense is still doing their thing you know but yeah we want to go out and continue that this half. [1:21:51] All right thank you. All right thanks Mercedes and Robbie Jones again brought to you by Jagmattles LLC continuing with the individual numbers for the bear catch from a receiving standpoint. [1:22:00] Colby Thompson won catch for 28 yards. Kaden Palmquist two catches for 38 yards and a huge third down conversion to which has set up that last touchdown pass. [1:22:10] Mainland here has been the big receiver tonight six catches one hundred and seven yards and a pair of touchdowns for him and then the landing coupsage with his first grab of the season that past past play covered 17 yards individually for Trinity so far. [1:22:24] Mac line we were there quarterback he has been sacked once that was right before or that set up. [1:22:28] The bear catch of Alito's last scoring drive of the first half but overall Mac seven carries for 32 yards the bear cats have done a great job on Marcus Turner so far they're leading Russia for the year nine carries for four yards and then their other running back Cohen. [1:22:44] So the bear catch will go on defense here. Kyle Hicks as we are about to start the third quarter here is the Trinity's ban has just finished up might take them with just a few minutes for them to actually exit the field because all the zy-liphones need to be this quarter top the field lots of zy-liphones here. [1:23:13] What's that one two three about eight of those things that they've got down there and so but seven the decontails this thank you sir I was just kind of doing off the top my head there but Kyle but we we've seen where the Alito defense kind of set the tone for this game and it's been if you will the more consistent side of the ball through the first two and have games of the year but I just think that's fourth down stop when it could have been here we go again but when they got that stop it really changed the whole demeanor on the sideline and then when they took it back to the field again. [1:23:42] So the other side line and then when they took it down and scored you know just it confidence is such a fleeting thing it is and you know I think Alito has every reason to be confident right now just by the way they played in the first half I mean I really thought they were the more physical team you know even give it up the size advantage that Trinity has they they've really done a good job especially on the defensive side of the ball [1:24:02] you know getting in the backfield and disrupting what the trodens are trying to do you know really eliminated the running game outside of Mac weaver scrambling out of the pocket so done a good job up front defensively and we've seen a much better job on the back end obviously Trinity has not had a chance to take the shots that we saw like the first two weeks from North Cralian wake of midway did they did take one Jordan Hall did an outstanding job being where he needed to be did good to had good technique was able to break that pass up so the way the defense has played this first half is really [1:24:31] encouraging and then you look at the offense and it's just a whole different offense from what we've seen they've been able to do several different things the running games gotten going the offensive lines doing a good job of getting push in the running game as well as protecting trade wounds when he drops back hadn't been sacked yet I don't believe no and he's done trade Williams has done a good job of spreading the ball out it hadn't just been a one trick you know thing for and tonight where you know he tries to get rid of the ball quickly he's hit he's hit slants he don't screens up the scene to the side [1:25:00] He's been accurate in all of his passes for the most part. So, you know, I'm really encouraged about what we saw about the offense here and I hope they can come I heard a second half and just continue with what they've been doing. And I think if your Trinity head coach Aaron Lineweaver, this opening drive for your offense has to have a lot of urgency to and you're down four scores. You've got to get something on the board here. Obviously, I was a little surprised when they had that fourth in about what was it for at around the Trinity 28 or excuse me, the Aledo 28 yard line and they settled for a 45. [1:25:30] Five yard field goal attempt and missed it badly there. And I was kind of surprised. I thought they would just try and keep the offense on the field to try and go for it. But even so, I think they've got to get seven on this opening possession. And if Aledo can stop them, regardless of wherever it is on the field and turn them over on downs or force a punt, whatever happens here, I think that kind of resettles things in their favor. If they allow them to score, then maybe Trinity feels like we have a chance to get back in this. Yeah, I mean, if it's trying to get some ball here and they're not able to do anything with it and gives a ball back to Aledo offense. [1:25:59] They're next possession that could be down by more than 30 points. So I mean, this is kind of a, you know, a guy that have a situation for Trinity, which you always hear coaches say the most important drive of the game is the first drive of the second half. [1:26:10] You know, sets the tone for the remainder of the game. So if Trinity's going to get back in this, this is going to be where it's going to have to begin. And for Aledo's defense, they cannot let off the gas. They got to keep playing with that same urgency and physicality that they did in the first half and go out there and, you know, establish that for the remainder of the game. [1:26:26] Alright, we want to remind you that Aledo bear cats football is a presentation of Maritz Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram in Westworth worth and Billy Harris roofing same name and number since 1973 again Trinity won the toss. [1:26:39] And it elected to defer to the second half. So that meant that they will take the ball here to start the second half. The bear cats will come out on defense. The bear cats will be going now from right to left. They will be going from because this is an East West stadium. [1:26:53] The bear cats will be going from again right to left on your radio dial. So that means from West to East here. So happy to have you with this Kevin Long, question Kyle Hicks in the N.T. [1:27:03] X varsity sports dot com broadcast booth Mercedes Meyer is down on the sidelines. The Deacon has all the stats. [1:27:10] Everman great Hayden Posey is our. [1:27:12] Is our on site producer engineer. This is a year long joke that's never going to let him go, by the way. [1:27:19] Our opening kickoff to start the second half is a pooch kick with a flag. [1:27:24] Pooch kick was delivered by Jackson Russell. It was brought to you by our friends at my sir orthodontics. I'm not sure I think the trod the bear cats were off side because the flag was thrown right where Aledo lined up to deliver the kickoff here. So [1:27:37] the fair catch was made at about the 33 our lines. So typically what they'll do on that is it. Excuse me. Is that they'll march off five after that. So we'll go to Mercedes down on the sidelines with this update. [1:27:48] Guys Jojo Cooper will not be in the second half. You'll see him on the sidelines with some ice on his left shoulder. So he finished off that first half and is not coming back to the second half. [1:27:57] All right. Thanks Mercedes. Well, that's not news. That's not the news that the bear cats were looking for here as one of their top guys who made that big stop on fourth down on Trinity's initial [1:28:05] possession of the game is unavailable for the rest of the game. So what that means for the bear cats is that they're going to go with Mark Ogden on that other defensive end slot opposite of Max form in here. So again, no Jojo Cooper. [1:28:20] And by the way, we do want to want to remind you that the Aledo coach you show a podcast will continue this coming Monday night, seven o'clock start at Polito's restaurant at Ranch House Road. Make your plans to join us. [1:28:31] The five yard walk off following the fair catch puts it up the 38 yard line. It's first in 10 for Trinity, give up the middle of there. And there's a gang of Trinity tacklers. One of those being time and mixer on basically no gain on that give to. [1:28:47] I think it was Marcus Turner. No, excuse me. It was Cohen. Fia Fia on that carry. So it'll bring up second down in 10. And the bear cats front right in between the A gaps between Amari Dindo and time and makes maybe having their best game as well so far. Yeah, that time, time and mix. It really been disruptive all game. [1:29:04] Same on this initial play. The second half is able to get in the backfield disrupts via Fia from getting anything going. And then the rest of the defense ones able to get there and help finish the playoff. [1:29:13] It is going to be another running play up the middle and the pile moves a little bit, but maybe for only just a yard. So once again, the bear cats linebackers able to make some moves plugging the holes that are Marri Dimbo is in on that scrum there as the ball carrier for Trinity is Marcus Turner on that. So he does get the yard. So third down and long coming up. Make it nine for Trinity. [1:29:35] Have to get to the 48 yard line here in the opening minute and change of this third quarter. Alito 24 trying to do nothing here. The [1:29:44] Trojans are two out of their first seven on third down. Bear cats trying to get a three in out. Dimbo leaves. He's replaced by London Bell who's been getting a lot of burn here so far in this first half. [1:29:55] Shotgun for line weaver with a man to his left five on the play clock down to two four three snappas away. Line weaver take off under pressure. Now looks to his right under pressure and he's going to be taking that. No, he gets away from a man and we'll have to just let then he loses the football. It's on the field. [1:30:12] And let's see if he gets it back. I think line we've got it back. No, the bear cats say they've got it. But what's the official ruling. We have no indication here yet on what we have [1:30:25] their comment forth down. They're going to cover. We've recovered it. Okay, got back on it. But I mean, what a huge, huge play there for the Alito defense. It lost about [1:30:34] 21 yards there. You know, line weaver is trying to scramble makes up and happen. Alito's defense is such a good job on the back end. There was nowhere for him to go down [1:30:42] down the field. Ashton Abel is able to get there and force the the fumble there. But a lot of line we was able to give back on it, but huge stand there for the defense and offense should be able to get the ball here in good [1:30:53] field position. Pun is away. Cooper Hall will make the catch at the 48 yard line and Trinity territory runs to the right now cuts up middle 35, 30 man to be 25, 20 cuts to the inside. But a flag is down at the 25 [1:31:07] yard line. Cooper Hall will score, but check the flag at the 26 yard line. If the punt stands for a touchdown, it's 36 yards, but hold everything because there's not [1:31:17] a big jubilation here. Let's wait and see what this Fort Worth chapter crew says are referee, by the way, is Mike Acre. [1:31:24] But let's see what happens here. This would be if it's against the Trojans. This would be the second return for a touchdown called back for a flag. And that looks like it is going to be coming back here. [1:31:33] Unfortunately, so the 48 yard touchdown. It's going to be a hold against the Trojans because the flag was dropped at the 26 yard line. So if they're saying that the flag at the [1:31:44] foul occurred at the 26 and it looks like the bear catch will start somewhere around the Trinity 30 60 yard line. That's unfortunate because that was a nice job by Cooper Hall to where the flag is. I mean, it's on the opposite side of the field of where, you know, the play really went so that it [1:31:58] messed really unfortunate. And second time, you know, lead us had a special teams touchdown, taking off the board due to penalty. So, you know, it's unfortunate. They got to, you know, eventually we'll get one here, but nonetheless is really good starting [1:32:11] field position here for the lead offense. All right. So the 10 yard walkoff. So it is a first and 10 at the 36 for a lead. Oh, they are in Trinity territory following the defensive stop. Yeah, that fumble by Mac line, weaver. And I think when he turned his head to look at the defender coming from his behind, that's when he lost his concentration, concentration, then lost the ball. [1:32:30] First down, give us to Izzy Roberts being chased breaks, a tackle 35 30 and then he falls forward for about two more yards. And he will get about eight yards on that carry down to the Trinity 28 yard line nice stretch, play it a nice cut up the middle by Izzy. Yeah, the little offense is a really good job with the stretch play. They're not really allowing their their speedy running backs to press the edge and just kind of wait for the play to develop. And once it does. They're so good at getting up field quickly. They've had a lot of success running the stretch plate regardless, which side they run into. [1:33:00] Bearcats about to run their 20th play and plus territory tonight on a second and eight Williams with throw passes caught for first down Maddox Nurtz breaks a tackle inside the 20 and he's finally wrestled out of bounds at about the 17 18 yard line. That's another bull goose. [1:33:16] Concrete finishing an epoxy first down and the bearcats are inside the Trinity red zone at the 18. Yeah, I'm sorry about Maddox Nurtz. He's kind of had a quiet night so far, but you look at him out there play. You can see what the ability is. And he's [1:33:30] exciting to watch out there on a first down Williams to throw that slant to came linear with a man on him. And he did a nice job making that it was pretty good coverage there by chase Davis, but it even better catch there by came linear because he gets eight yards down to the 10 yard line. [1:33:45] I'll tell you what though that's that shows you the maturity and the timing of Trey Williams because maybe two weeks ago that ball is behind came. Yeah, and he's thought he's playing with a lot of confidence in this ballgame. And he's really put in the ball where it needs to be. [1:33:58] And he's been able to protect it ever since the first positions second and two Williams to throw over the middle wide open caught touchdown. Colby Thompson, the recipient and the bear cats have broken the 30 point mark. [1:34:11] As Trey Williams is over 200 yards for the night and the bear cats have really stretched this out to 30 to nothing. And that was a great job by Williams there. [1:34:19] The Trinity brought pressure off the right side. He sees it immediately. He knows where his read is at that point. He's able to lob the ball up over the top of the defense where there's nobody there. [1:34:29] Because they all blitz for the easy touchdown there. Great read by Trey Williams in a good job of the little offense Hudson Parks with the extra point and it is good. And it's brought to you by your local sports clip. [1:34:40] But we also have a marker on the field. Looks like it might have occurred afterwards here. And so both teams are running to their respective sidelines. We'll get the call here. [1:34:47] It'll be off sides on Trinity. So that will be assessed on the kickoff. We'll take the break 802 to play here third quarter all Alino bear cats at this point 31 to nothing over Trinity back after this time out. [1:35:00] Three 80s, 90s and two thousands. KTFW. Glenrose Grandberry. 92.1 Hank FM. [1:35:35] Williams Capital Bank. Member FDIC. [1:36:05] Heiser Orthodontics. Poochkick from Jaxen Russell. [1:36:23] The second half of the Bearcats on script, 31.1. [1:36:38] Max Foreman and Cooper Hall makes the stop on Kevin Krohmah, his first touch of the night. [1:36:49] We owe you the CSG West Granite and Floring Drive summary for the Bearcats. [1:36:53] Four plays, 36 yards, a minute 18 off the clock. Ten yard touchdown pass from Tre Williams to Colby Thompson. [1:37:00] Three hundred touchdown pass from Tre Williams, a 214 yards. [1:37:05] He's looked so solid after the early adversity for him. [1:37:10] Laws of two, back to the 33 yard line. Ball in the middle of the field for the Trojans. Play action for Lineweaver. [1:37:16] He'll throw to the right and pass. High and intercepted. Jordan Hall comes up with it at the 45 yard line in Trinity territory. [1:37:22] The Bearcats will take over following that turnover which is brought to you by Davidson Construction. [1:37:27] Jordan Hall has second interception of the season. [1:37:30] Yeah, it's just the ball was just overthrown by Mack line. We were there. Jordan Hall is in great position there. [1:37:36] Once it overshoots the receipt, he's able to make a really pretty easy catch there for the for a big turnover there and gets ball back to Alito inside Trojan territory. [1:37:44] We were just talking a few moments ago about the perfect start to the second half. The Bearcats wanted the defense gets the stop along the big negative play. [1:37:52] Even though the punt return was wiped out, they started with perfect territory with great field position at the 36 yard line. [1:37:58] They scored a new quarterback for the Bearcats. At least for this series, Eli Pinnick will see if they run a little quarterback zone read. [1:38:05] It'll be a keeper by Pinnick. He's got five. He's got six. He's got seven. And maybe he's got eight yards as he just lunges forward. [1:38:13] Just kind of lowered his head and he got about eight yards down to the Trinity 37 yard line. And this might become in a situation here, Kyle, where there's the want to win this. [1:38:21] The return they feel feels on its heels quite a bit frustrated. And Alito has a ton of confidence behind it. [1:38:27] They do. I mean, they played really well tonight and offensively and defensively. And I think the ability to be able to run the ball as well as kind of open up in the passing game. [1:38:37] Just made it so much easier for in this evening. Pinnick will throw on first down and second down and it's unfortunately intercepted by the Trojans. [1:38:45] Marie Singleton comes up with the pick. Pass was intended for Kane linear at the 30 yard line, but they weren't connected. [1:38:51] They're actually palm quest was the intended target there, but obviously they weren't on the same page. And so the Trojans come up with their second interception of the night. [1:38:59] And so Alito gives it right back on its second offensive play from that possession. Unfortunate because they again, they started in really good field position. [1:39:07] Yeah, and there's just a miscommunication there because you know, Pinnick got the ball out. He's expecting a palm quest to be waiting in that area. [1:39:15] And palm quest never even turned around to look for it. So I mean, really was it easy interception there just a miscommunication there and a cost in there. [1:39:22] Kind of like what Jordan Halls was was kind of like an easy interception. [1:39:25] So first intent for the Trojans at the 30 yard line, they will give it up the middle, but nothing doing there. [1:39:30] Right back to the line of scrimmage there as time and mix was one of the tacklers along with Max form. [1:39:35] And what Max form has been all over the place tonight for the bear cats. I think he might be a candidate for a post game showmer, say these I'm just saying if this holds up the way it doesn't. [1:39:44] It's the power of suggestion on that. And so it's very subtle. [1:39:48] Very subtle powers. We are nearing the midway part here of the third quarter. It is a Lido 31 Trinity nothing in the reason why we're playing only in the third quarters because this game started with about a 52 53 minute delay because of lightning. [1:40:02] So we did not start at seven. We started around 752 and we got a whistle in a stoppage here. We got a time out here. I don't know if it's called by one of the teams or if the officials called on. [1:40:12] I'm trying to wait here for our official Mike Acca. I think he's single to himself on this. Did he not think he's given a sideline warnings what it looked like. [1:40:22] But both teams are coming to their respective bench will keep it here for the moment here as it is going to be a second down and 10 coming up. And so it is an official stoppage here. [1:40:30] There might have been a clock issue with the play clock on that. It looked like the 42nd was not moving here. So there will restart that in the clock continues to move here. And that's moving at 33 32 31. So that's good. [1:40:41] So second down and 10 for the Trojans here at Pennington Field in Bedford where the Trinity logo was in the West end zone and the LD Bell logo was in the East end zone. [1:40:51] They will toss it over to the left side running into the 30 35 close to the midfield close to the 40 arthline. The ball carrier for Trinity on that is Prince Gando. [1:41:02] And he gets and I think it's his first carry of the night and it looks like he does have enough for the Trinity first down. It is a pickup of 10 exactly here. [1:41:11] And so the Trojans, one of the few positive plays that they've had here in recent possessions, but they get to their 40 arthline. [1:41:18] Yeah, actually the good job up front there for the Trojans on the left side of the offensive line. He has been tough going for him on the running game of that time. [1:41:25] They have a good little space for their guy to operate and pick up the first at the 40 arthline 31 to nothing. The bear cats lead. They will run it up the middle and nothing is there once again. And the ball carrier loses his helmet. [1:41:36] I think he lost a lost a yard on that the ball carrier was Gando. He kind of just grabs his helmet. He almost tossed it, but he was able to hold onto it here. But he loses a yard. Nothing is there is nothing in the A gaps for the Trinity running game tonight. [1:41:51] It is time in the mix and a Mario D'Inbou. There is such a good job of really eliminating any paths running up in the A gaps. That is really what Trinity likes to do. They like running between the tackles and trying to go downhill at you. [1:42:05] But the way they, the two defensive tackles for the bear cats that play has just made it tough for them to do anything. [1:42:10] Quick hitter to Marcus Turner. He gets to the 43 arthline. It is a pick up of four yards and now third down and call. [1:42:19] Also want to give a shout out to the land in Bell who has been that third defensive tackle that the bear cats defensive coaching staff has used here. But you are right. They have done, they have really yielded nothing here. [1:42:30] I think about O'Mari because remember they use him on offense when they get inside the opponent or deep inside the opponent side of the field. [1:42:37] And that looks like that trend for O'Mari this year is going to continue. Yeah, I mean, he does a really good job. They put him out right tackles, especially when they are in obvious running situations. [1:42:45] They want him to use his size over there to help clear the way for the running back. So as long as it continues to work the way it has, they will continue to do it. [1:42:51] Line weaver to throw the passes high and it is caught by Carmelo Gray. He gets pushed out of bounds but after a short pick up he got to about the 30. They are going to give him forward progress to the 37 but that pass was really high. [1:43:04] So it brings up now fourth down and call it three and out comes the punting unit for Aaron line weaver. Kind of surprised that he will send them out there but, you know, given where the game is and they have had so many frustrations on fourth down maybe not. [1:43:17] Yeah, I mean, this part of the field they were not to pick it up. He did once again start a drive inside Trinity territory the way the score is. I don't think he wants it to get any more out of hand than it kind of gotten. [1:43:27] So that's why he's elected to punt the ball here. Punting situation there for boy and it goes over his head. He tries to get it away. He does get it away and all the bear cats are running away from it. [1:43:38] And it turns out to be a pretty decent punt. We talked about how the punting unit for Trinity has had its issues this year. The ball is finally dead and at the 22 yard line in a little territory. [1:43:50] It covers 31 yards but it was over boys head but he quickly recovered it and somehow was able to get it off because he was surrounded by white jerseys. [1:43:59] I don't know how he didn't inadvertently just kick it into somebody. I mean, it was just by accident. I mean, just somehow by miracle he's able to get it off and actually ends up being a pretty good punt there but that was an opportunity there for the bear cat special teams to go get a block. [1:44:14] I mean, the ball went pretty good ways behind the punter there and whatever reason is we're able to get a hand on it there. [1:44:20] Craziness. So the bear cats will start first in 10 at their 22 yard line two minutes 53 seconds to play here in the third quarter. Bear cats are pushing pitching a shot out of 31 to nothing. [1:44:30] The deacon by the way reminding me that they have scored in two consecutive games. Thanks. Thanks, Mr. Captain. [1:44:36] It'll be a running play a direct snap on a wildcat to why it dorsi and he gets over the left side for about two yards to the 24 yard line. [1:44:45] Remember the bear cats had that streak of 328 games that was snapped in the opener. The dearly departed streak of 328 that ended in the opener at North Crowley. [1:44:56] The streak that started when they lost in the fourth round of the play. [1:45:00] Fouls in 2003 to Dent and Ryan. But on to new streaks, you got to start somewhere, right? Yeah. Yeah. So we're at two. Probably check back on that in about a decade. Second and date for the Bearcats at the 24 yard line. I like the way you said that, by the way. It is a give over the left side. Lots of running room over the left side. This is why Adorsey gets a first down to about the 35 yard line. Very patient running there by Wyatt Dorsey. Pick up of 11 yards and other bull goose construction first down on the Bearcats. Have the ball at their own [1:45:30] 36. You know, just more the same. Wyatt Dorsey, he and his, he Roberts are both really complimentary, but I feel like why Dorsey does a really good job there, you know, being patient and waiting to let his blocks develop and he's able to just find some space. There's not a lot of room out there, but he's still able to make something happen and pick up the first down. This offense, really humming right now. [1:45:51] I don't think I can throw across. Don't do anything foolish, but Williams will throw down field and it is going to be just off the outstretched arms of Mason, MacGaddon, about the Trinity 23 yard line. It was just a little bit too far. It was a good ball. I thought he might have under threw it a second there, but a nice job there by MacGaddon to run under it and nearly come up with that thing. He's able to get one hand on this one. Quite able to bring it in. That was a good throw there. Just a little off the mark there from trade Williams. [1:46:19] I'm going to take that in 10 for the bear cuts at their 36 yard line here, two minutes to play here in the third quarter. They lead 31 to nothing. Williams will want to throw the throws a little dump out to Kusits with his second catch of the night. [1:46:31] And he steps out of bounds near the Trinity sideline out about the 45 yard line. That's a pick up of nine yards on that play. And he had a lot of cushion to work with there. [1:46:39] That's a good job. Trade Williams recognizing the coverage. No one were it was soft and just getting the ball out quickly to the sideline and letting his receiver get that to a much more third and less than a yard here. [1:46:49] So at the 45 it is third down in short power pistol formation. The deep back I believe is Dorsi and he will get the call and he'll go over the left side and he will try and fight for, but I don't think he got it. [1:47:00] Actually, they're going to probably signal that he lost about a foot or two on that play back to the 44 yard line. So the bear catch do not convert there on third down. I felt like, you know, he tried to cut it back outside, but if he just lowered his shoulder there initially, he might have had a chance to pick up the first down. But when he went try to cut to the left outside, which he's had some success with tonight. [1:47:21] Trinity was ready for is able to shut it down and looks like it's going to force the first puns and the first or the first one of the night. [1:47:27] Yeah, I mean, it's tempting on fourth and two, but with the game of 31 to nothing play it's smart here and get your punting team out there. So that'll be Blake could out there for the first time tonight. The bear cats. [1:47:37] He's had a remember he's the kind of punter that will get it high end over and not very deep, but he gets a lot of hang time snaps a little high, but he has plenty of time to work with and this one is high once again. [1:47:47] Probably his best pun of the season because it'll drop inside the five and it'll be touched down out of about the one yard line. [1:47:54] What an incredible job by the Elito special teams on this punt that covers 55 yards. [1:48:02] Landry Casper was the one that was down that that made the stop as it rolled inside the five. I was going to say, well, I'm telling you that deep snapper helps his punter out there because remember the opening pun of the season. [1:48:14] At land at North Crowley, they didn't do it. They unfortunately were inside and let it and one of their men was in the end zone for a touchback. But this time they got it done smartly correctly. [1:48:26] Casper downs it at the one yard line. And so Trinity will start first and 10 at its one with 30 seconds to play here in the quarter. [1:48:33] Yeah, it's just an outstanding punt there. I mean, you can't you can't draw it up any better than that. Got it right inside the one yard line. Make them go the distance of the field. It's a great job by the special teams. [1:48:42] So let's see if Mack line we were will just kind of follow us in and oh, he'll do the run on running plans. There is some running room there for. [1:48:49] Looks like it was Marcus Turner and he does actually get pretty good running room up to about the six yard line. [1:48:54] So it's a pick up about five yards there for Marcus Turner. One of actually one of his better runs of the night. Turner by the way, 13 carries for 14 yards for him. [1:49:03] As London Bell made the stop for. And that's the way the third quarter will come to an end. The bear cats are totally in control as we head to the fourth quarter. [1:49:16] They lead the Trinity Trojans by score 31 to nothing back for the fourth and final after this. You're listening to a little bear cats football on 92.1 Hanka FM. [1:50:36] This portion of a Leo bear cats football is brought to you by Marits Chevrolet in West Fort Worth and by Billy Harris roofing. [1:50:43] Name name and number since 1973. We welcome you to the platinum collision of Willapart 4th quarter. [1:50:50] Alito leads by a score 31 to nothing. A four yard run for Trinity on that second down play by Turner gets him to their 10 yard line following the 55 yard punt from Alito's play could that pin them out there one. [1:51:04] Now third and short coming up for the Trojans will give you the Fort Worth stock our heritage group heritage club rather. [1:51:14] Third quarter stats here in just a few moments on a third down and short bear cats showing a five man front it'll be a run up the middle and nothing doing there that five man front for the bear cats does the job. [1:51:26] Turner is forced back to about the nine yard line so he loses about a good yard and a half there in Trinity's again. [1:51:33] Kyle throughout the night the a gaps have been owned by the bear cats defensive front. Yeah, I mean that's just that's where this game has really been one especially you know defense for Alito they've just dominated the line of [1:51:43] the game. They have not given any any leeway for Trinity to do what they want to which is run between the tackles you know I think time and mix and our demo if they're best game so far we've seen this season max four minute is done a really good job as well as in the back ends in a good job of buttoning up any passes down field so looking at this defense the way they play it's nice to me is really encouraging. [1:52:05] Jaden boy will be stepping about three yards in his own end zone Cooper Hall waits at the Trinity 41 we have whistle in a stoppage there and Trinity does burn its first time out with 10 35 to play here in the fourth quarter. [1:52:17] Play clock was getting away from them so that gives us the opportunity to give you the four were stock yards heritage club third quarter stats the bear cats with 13 Trinity with four bear cats have rushed for 104 yards Trinity with 38 29 carries 38 yards so just a little over a buck per carry. [1:52:34] The bear cats have thrown for 223 yards Trinity has thrown for only 30 total domination totally artage wise Alito with 327 Trinity with 68 and the only bug of the bear cats have been two turnovers interceptions thrown by both. [1:52:49] Trey Williams and Eli Pinnick the bear cats did get a turnover tonight from a Jordan Hall interception both teams traded interceptions with each other within a series of about three plays but other than that the bear cats have been absolutely really much on all cylinders tonight it's been nice to see because I know obviously you could kind of right off the North Crowley game. [1:53:09] I probably said that into oblivion about you know you kind of have to put that game in a different category midway was frustrating because it was there for the taking and they didn't do it and tonight a completely different picture total domination here. [1:53:21] Yeah I mean looking at it last week the team they forced three turnovers didn't turn the ball over they still lost you very unusual for that to happen so just goes to show they had several options they just didn't finish drives and they had the chances and that has not been the case tonight kind of like my uncle monitor S.M.U. [1:53:37] four turnovers at Florida state and they won. [1:53:41] Pun is away and Cooper Hall will let it roll right to about the Trinity right at midfield as they will let it roll now it rolls a little bit on the Alito side of the field and so they'll actually call it the Alito 49 yardline following that [1:53:55] punt and roll of 49 yards off the foot the left foot of Jaden boy good idea to by Cooper Hall because that thing had a little bit of some side winding bounce to it on that but yeah I mean the mustings win at Florida state [1:54:07] Monday night power outage of all four turnovers in that game and still had nearly 600 yards of total offense and still walk out of Tallahassee with the three point win kind of a weird game but you'll take it as far as I'm concerned since I'm an alum I'll take that result more than anything else and so okay first intent [1:54:24] for the bear cats here at their 49 yardline 10 19 to play here second quarter Eli excuse me Trey Williams is in that quarterback tight in his tight off to the left and they will get a little throw out to the left this is Kaden palm [1:54:39] quest with room to run cuts it up field inside the 45 inside the 40 yardline down with the first down which is brought to you by bull goose construction nice little nice little play there to let Kaden palm [1:54:50] run with the football after he catches it lots of room to run yeah it's good jobs to by Trey Williams giving him a catchable ball putting it out in front of palm quest where where you can grab it and then take off run and [1:55:00] I like the Aledo, they're not necessarily throwing the ball deep every play, but they're still [1:55:05] letting Tre Williams control the offense, continue to pass the ball and still continue to allow him to build confidence, even those [1:55:12] lay this ball game. Kane and Palmquist, three catches 45 yards, first in 10 at the 45. Williams will throw out on a kind of a sprint rollout. Once again, [1:55:19] to Palmquist, it's a shorter pick up this time. It's only a gain of about two yards to about the Trinity 38-yard line. [1:55:25] This is about Aledo just trying to manage the clock here, keep everything between the white lines and kind of burn the clock as we roll toward nine minutes and 30 seconds. [1:55:33] Yeah, I mean, the same play again, Tre Williams, you must play action to out to the flats more or less a glorified run. [1:55:39] Just a different way because Trinity stack in the box, they're not going to try to do their best to keep Aledo from running the ball here. [1:55:46] Aledo's doing a good job of just getting the ball to the flats, Palmquist, allowing him to try to pick up some yarders with his legs. [1:55:52] Bearcats rolling toward the nine minute mark and nine minutes away from picking up their first one of the 2026 season, leading 31 to nothing, second and eight at the 38. [1:56:00] Little roll to the left for Williams. He wants it all downfield. He's looking for Manick's nurse and it's going to be intercepted and returned. [1:56:06] This is Chase Davis with the reset with the return. He's across the 3035 and he's taken down at about the 39, maybe the 40-yard line. [1:56:17] Big return there by the Oklahoma State Commit. They're like the play just a little bit overthrown, but a great play there too by Chase Davis on the returning. [1:56:25] He had a convoy of blockers in front of him. Yeah, it was great interception there. That wasn't an easy catch. [1:56:31] And just, you know, I was, you know, probably the worst pass we've seen from Tre Williams since that first opening possession. [1:56:38] He's looked really sharp all night at that time. That one got away from him. And you know, throwing the ball deep this late in the game when you're up 31. [1:56:46] You like to see him maybe try to run the clock out here and you know, allow that offensive line which is played so well to really continue to go move the ball down the field. [1:56:53] But you know, once again, they're going to have to lead a lead as defense on a sudden change situation here to come out and try to stop Trinity once again. [1:57:01] Marcus Turner will be the running back to the right of Mac line. We were, he gets the carry up the middle for about four yards on that play. Yeah, the only negative on that was the fact that tonight is that a little quarterbacks have thrown three interceptions to by Williams and one by Eli Pinnick. [1:57:20] And that pass was intended for came linear on that play. [1:57:25] So second down and six with the children's who are really in no hurry here, though. I mean, they understand what they're dealing with here. But you would think that they would want to run a little bit more quicker tempo, get to the line of scrimmage, but they're in their huddle here. And so they're just kind of being very methodical about things again. [1:57:40] From what we've seen of them and what I've read up on them, obviously when they fell behind big time at the half last week at Austin, West Lake. [1:57:47] It got even worse for them here. And this is worse than last week at West Lake to receivers to the left side. It'll be another run up the middle and about a pick up of about you pick up of about one yard on the play ball carrier is Trent Turner, the other Turner, if you will. [1:58:03] He had 24 carriers for 143 yards coming into this ballgame. And then for that's his third carry of the night for 10 yards. Again, this Trinity running game has just really had tough sledding all night long. We've talked about the problems in the A gap. But even when they've able to string things, why their best runs that have been Mac line, we were taking off in freelancing if it's not a cubie designed draw. [1:58:25] Yeah, I mean, most, most part, Mac, why line levers success has just been when it's been a design pass and nothing's been open. He's been able to make some defenders miss and pick up some some yards with his legs. And that Alito outside of one big run. They've done a good job of limiting how successful Trinity can be on the ground. [1:58:42] We'll take a time out as Trinity burns its second 31 to nothing. The bear cats lead seven minutes to play here in the third quarterback after this year listening to bear cats football on Hank FM. [1:59:58] Line weaver to throw on third down in the past is going to be caught for first down making the grab is Brendan Kerry after a 12 yard pickup that goes into Alito territory down to the bear cat 43 yard line in the clock rolls under seven minutes to play here in our fourth quarter. [2:00:14] We're going to be able to find a little bit of a gap there in the defense and his tied in pick up the first down. Alito is kind of giving up the short intermediate passing plays are fun doing that at this point in the game. [2:00:24] Just keep everything in front of them and allow this clock continue to run. [2:00:27] The Trojans again are down to one time out and of course I'll have the two minutes stop it here 31 nothing the bear cats lead. [2:00:32] It will be a gift this time to the other Turner. Trent has the ball in his hands and he will take it down to the 40 yard line after a pick up of three yards here. [2:00:42] But again, we're not seeing urgency from this Trinity offense. Again, it's a five score lead for the bear cats here. [2:00:49] So, yeah, but it's still an opportunity for them to go out and work certain scenarios. [2:00:54] I mean, I know, you know, obviously this game is pretty well in hand for Alito, but you know, you have an opportunity here to work on your hurry up offense and see, you know, how you guys doing certain situations. [2:01:03] So, you know, it is it is confusing the lack of urgency there having at this point. [2:01:07] By the way, the district 36 a season starts next week down in Hood County in Granbury 6 30 is the pregame show on Hank FM kickoff is at seven o'clock. [2:01:15] Line we've under truck under pressure now throws had a weight and I did a nice job there. [2:01:19] It is man coming open for that play Kevin Krohmaw makes the grab for the first down. [2:01:24] It's a pick above nine yards down to the Alito 31 yard line. [2:01:27] But that was kind of a freelance play there by Krohmaw because he was saw that line weaver was in distress and then was able to shake free and then get himself some space. [2:01:36] So second, so first and 10 for Trinity at the Alito 31 yard line. [2:01:41] We are again halfway through this fourth quarter, which is brought to by our friends. [2:01:46] At plat at Platinum collision of Willow Park at the 31 yard line two receivers to the far side. [2:01:55] Marcus Turner is the back to the left of Mac line weaver up. [2:02:00] And it'll be a give to turn. He tries to bounce it outside. [2:02:04] This is going against the Alito second teamers to some extent. [2:02:07] And he finally gets inside the 20 yard line before Jordan Hall gives him a big hello and shoves him out of bounds. [2:02:13] Shoulder high. I think he went right into the Alito cheerleaders after he finished sliding after that pushoff. [2:02:19] But no flag, but it was just like a clean hit. [2:02:23] Marcus Turner just got the the raw into that one. [2:02:27] That was really good hit there by Jordan. [2:02:29] All of a sudden in the morning's way out of turners best 12 yard run the best run by turner of the night clock stops at 509. [2:02:36] Seventh play of this possession following the interception return by Trinity safety chase Davis who we thought we might see on offense tonight, but we have not. [2:02:45] They've used him on some reverses and things like that, but nothing to that avail. [2:02:50] Maybe if the game is a little bit closer, they would have done that. [2:02:52] Marcus Turner on this carry on first down gets three yards down at the 16 yard line here. [2:02:57] Want to remind you that the Titan ready mix post game show will come your way following the conclusion up tonight's ballgame will have our Aaron Valencia a game agent. [2:03:06] Players of the game will get a comment from Robbie Jones will also have our statistical breakdown will have our elders peer water play of the game and then stick around following the conclusion of the post game show will have the KTF W 92.1 high school scoreboard show. [2:03:21] As we are coming to you from this broadcast location, which is covered by your friends at NTX varsity sports dot com second down and call it seven at the Alito 16 yard line for Trinity as they continue to try and score for the first time tonight. [2:03:36] Give us to turn her up the middle. He does break a tackle keeps his legs churning gets near the first down marker. Looks like he did get it to the nine yard line. He needed seven and he did get seven. [2:03:46] Yeah, I know a lot of the defensive players in there for a little now maybe are you know backups and several spots there, but you know, Trinity has found a little rhythm here on the ground. [2:03:56] It's been a long the probably their longest drive of the evening so far in terms of time of possession here. They're just running right at the barricades defense and they're getting a little chunks yards here and there. [2:04:05] They've been able to knock almost five minutes off the clock here now the ball inside the tin and Alito will take that like if you're willing to be this deliberate with your offense then we'll we won't stop you on that as we. [2:04:15] Roll under four minutes to play so does first and goal for Trinity at the Alito nine yard line and yes to Kyle's point a lot of the backups are in on this gift to Marcus Turner and a couple of the backups almost had it. [2:04:28] Turner trapped in the backfield but he was able to at least get back to the line of scrimmage at the nine yard line there. Great pursuit as they sprung forward there, but some of the backups that are in for the barricades are like case gamble at linebacker. [2:04:40] Landon bell jet cash so a lot of the backups are in here on the second and goal coming up here. [2:04:50] Tenth play the possession coming up for the Trojans here who want to at least avoid a shot out tonight. [2:04:55] If this game finishes the way both sides where it's the way does both. [2:05:00] The team will finish it, will be at one and two as they hit into non-district play next week. The give is to Turner over the left side and he gets maybe about a yard to the eight yard line as we are now rolling under three minutes to play. Yeah, I mean, if you're Robbie Jones, like, dude, do what you got to do. Yeah, I mean, they're totally content with the club this clock run and still wants to see his defense out there being physical, trying to keep him out of the end zone, but this game's well on hand. [2:05:30] By the way, shout out to the Aledo fans, a good contingent of them came over from Eastern Parker County tonight and a good number of them are still here watching the end of this ballgame. Third down and goal at the eight. They've got a score here. High snap. Lineweaver to throw, wants to see a man breaking into the ends on the passes caught for a touchdown. Making the grab is the tight end, Brendan Kerry on the eight yard grab and with two 21 to play. Trinity is on the board for the first time tonight. Nice job to by Lineweaver. [2:06:00] Who waited patiently on that. He throws his second touchdown pass of the year. And so the Trojans do get on the scoreboard. So the bear cats. And again, this was coming mostly against the bear cat's second team or a mixture of second teamers and some first teamers out there. Yeah, looks like a bear cat defender is down over there in the corner of the end zone. But yeah, Lineweaver did a good job rolling out to his right, allowing us to find in some space in the end zone there and find a hole in the defense and deliver him a catchable ball there. [2:06:30] For their first score of the ballgame Elijah Mangrum was the shaken up bear cat in the end zone. And he's able to get off on his own power there and walk off the field. So that's good news for the bear cats. He should be okay. Again, 221 to play here as Trinity has scored for the first time tonight. [2:06:48] Extra point will be attempted by Jaden Boy. This will only be his sixth extra point of the year. Again, he's a left footer. [2:06:59] Placement kick is on the way and the kick is good. So 221 again to play here. We'll take the brick. Come back here in just a few moments. One minute time out here. [2:07:09] 31 to 7. The bear cats lead the Trojans right after this break. [2:08:15] C S G West granite and floors drive summary for the Trojans first time tonight 11 plays 60 yards the eight yard touchdown pass from Mac Weaver to Brendan Kerry took six minutes and 27 seconds off the clock. [2:08:29] The pooch kick coming here from the kicker, Jane Boyd and it was Cooper whole thought I think one of the up and was going to grab it and then it bounced around him. Unfortunately for him he was able to retrieve it and fall on it on the Alito 14 yard line exactly not how you want it to draw how you want that to start but at the same time at least the bear cats avoid disaster from that standpoint and are able to at least hold the football there. [2:08:57] That was a little bit really that was it's on part of miss Q there you know you got to know you're the back man. I feel that one but he's able to get on it you know not the best starting position but least they retain position Eli Pinnick is the quarterback this time again this is the worst starting field position of the night for the [2:09:15] bear cats why it dorses in the backfield in a eye formation and they will give it to why it up the middle and he will get right back to the line of scrimmage of the 14 yard line and that should take us to the two minute time out. [2:09:27] Trinity's in no business or no hurry to stop it so we'll take the time out back after this bear cats up 31 to seven trying to finish this off here at pennington field in Bedford. The Deacon has our stats. Hayden Pozzi, our Aledo alum as our [2:10:47] producer engineer, Bearcats, two minutes away from picking up win number one on the 2026 [2:10:52] season. Eli Pinnick is the quarterback. He will take the direct staff and he'll reverse this field. [2:10:57] He gets across the 15 and he's tackled from behind. Nice job. Openfields stop there by Chase Davis. [2:11:02] After a pick up of about three, four yards to about the 18 yard line, there is an injured [2:11:08] trojan on the field. That's actually Davis who made the tackle after that pick up of four yards. [2:11:15] Mercedes tells actually it was kind of a disagreement of who actually had the football. [2:11:22] But they actually the Bearcats still have it and the clock continues to run here with 125. [2:11:29] And the Bearcats again are in no here here even if they don't get the first down. [2:11:33] They're going to punt it back and Trinity again has one time out so they only have one more chance [2:11:37] to stop it and for say third down and call it about six for the Bearcats. [2:11:42] Have to get to the 24 yard line. It is going to be a run over the left side to Izzy Roberts. He'll get [2:11:47] to the 19 yard line after all that running around doing stuff. [2:11:52] And it'll be a fourth down coming up for the Bearcats as we roll inside the one minute mark [2:11:57] here the fourth quarter again. The district three six A season starts next week down in Hood County [2:12:02] with the other team that joined the Bearcats moving up to class six A the the Grand Berry Pirates [2:12:09] who were playing over and Irving tonight. The Pirates are or one and one before that game [2:12:15] kicked off. The Bearcats will punt here. They do have to get it away here because the play clock [2:12:21] 10 and the game clock's at 30 so gotta get this way. Second effort coming up here for the Bearcats [2:12:27] play could and I think Robbie's going to burn his time out here one of his three time outs here just [2:12:32] to let as much time elaps as he can here and he does burn it with 20 seconds to go. [2:12:38] Kind of thought he might do that and then the decon pointed out that when he stood right next [2:12:42] to the official to just burn it there. He also had a player run out super super late for the Bearcats. [2:12:48] I might have had something to do with it because everybody get a five year penalty on top of it. [2:12:52] Either way it works out for the Bearcats because right now you're more worried you're playing the [2:12:55] clock not the Trojans and so of course I think really to be honest with you since the opening sequence [2:13:00] of the third quarter this has been a little versus the clock rather than the Trojans and I did not [2:13:05] think I was going to be saying that tonight. No I thought you know Trinity would find a way to get [2:13:09] back in it but as well as the Alito play they picked up right back where they left off in the second [2:13:15] half and really just gave the Trojans no hope throughout the entire ballgame you know they got the [2:13:21] they forced the pun scored a touch and then got a quick turnover so after that it was pretty much [2:13:25] ballgame at that point. Second time for Blake could to pun his first one carried 55 yards. [2:13:32] Remember the one that was down at the one yard line no one is back for Trinity so they're going to [2:13:37] let this thing go high and over in spiral pun here nice effort here by what he's going to get [2:13:43] some roll out of this is it rolls inside the Trinity 30 yard line at about four wide jerseys are [2:13:49] around it before it's deadened at the 26 yard line and the clock will stop with three seconds to go [2:13:55] so Trinity's offense will have to run one more play and then we're going to get out of here for the [2:13:59] start of the post game show. Couldn't just hold off for three minutes. Yeah of course when the ball [2:14:08] stops moving you got to do something or the officials will step in and stop it here but time for one more [2:14:14] play but again it'll be good news here in the mid cities for the bear cats who will get their first [2:14:18] win of the year and I when I was looking at the non-district schedule back march whatever I thought [2:14:24] yeah maybe one and two and I thought the win was going to come against Waco midway and that they [2:14:28] would have a tough time against North Crowley which they didn't I thought they might have a tough [2:14:31] time here tonight but they but this has been more real if you will dismantling of the Trojans [2:14:38] final play of the game it'll be a one up the middle to the other ball carry Trent Turner he gets [2:14:44] through about the 32 yard line and that is it the midfield handshake about to take place between the [2:14:52] victorious Alito bear cats and the Trinity Trojans final score here at Pendleton Field in [2:18:06] back here in the mid cities pennanton field and bed for where the final score is a joyous one [2:18:10] here where the elito bear cats defeated the trinity trojans by account of 31 to 7 time now for [2:18:16] the titan ready mixed post game show kevin long-quistin kyle hicks here mercedes mire will have our [2:18:22] players of the game interviews here in just a moment along with trinity head coach robby jones and [2:18:26] just before she gets to those kyle i thought that based on what i was reading up and preparing for [2:18:33] this game this week i thought i said you know elito might have a pretty decent chance in this one [2:18:37] and i thought they could win it but i didn't think they would win it like this they just [2:18:40] owned this from start to finish after the opening turnover defense gets a stop and then [2:18:44] boom right after that yeah i mean it's really from that after that opening position it was their [2:18:49] game i mean they dominated both sides of the both sides of the ball of lines of scrimmage they were [2:18:54] physical all night they were in the backfield fraternity making their lives really difficult [2:18:58] to get anything going offensively then you know elito and the offense they really opened up the [2:19:03] playbook it seemed like it had a lot of like really could kind of do whatever they wanted they were [2:19:07] they're having consistently having positive runs regardless of those wide doors the easy [2:19:11] robberts back there the offensive line was doing a good job of moving people and creating space [2:19:17] and then trade Williams we saw him really you know come a long way tonight obviously they're [2:19:22] they're not going to love the two interceptions the one first position the one the last position [2:19:25] but everything between that you know looked a lot better he was consistent he didn't miss a lot of [2:19:29] receivers and he really took care of the ball outside of those two plays so i think you got to [2:19:34] be encouraged going forward into the district play next week starting in grandberry and see [2:19:39] where the thing goes dare i say this football program snapped a three game losing streak remember [2:19:45] they lost in the state semifinals to fusco won star last December and then dropped the first two [2:19:51] of the season but yeah everything looked good minus the three interceptions that the two [2:19:56] elito quarterbacks through as you mentioned trade Williams with the two Eli [2:20:00] The Bearcats did get a turnover tonight though, so that's Jordan Hall with his fifth interception or second interception of the year for the Bearcats. And again, District 360, play starts. Again, we'll have a statistical breakdown. We'll have our elders, pure water, play of the game and we'll have the deacons out of whack stat, but I kind of thought that breaking a three game losing trick was kind of out of whack on itself. Yeah, I mean, we haven't seen that. We haven't really talked about that that much over the years. And so I know deacons going to have to be a little bit more [2:20:31] to go back before deacon talks and doesn't know what he's talking about. He'll have to research that the last time they've lost three straight. All right, coach Jones, Mercedes-Jill trying to make sure that she can get everybody around it up here as Robbie Jones is still talking with his troops. And of course, again, want to point out the Aledo fans did a great job of coming over here from the mid cities here. The traffic wasn't really that bad in terms of coming over from Eastern Parker County to come over here. Yeah, it wasn't terrible. But we'll see you guys next time. [2:21:01] I mean, it's Friday night. It's Friday rush hour. Yeah, but yeah, I'm I haven't bragged about my commute, but this is, but I'm going to brag about it now because I live over in Eastport, where so I could take all the back roads I could get on. I could drive behind Bell helicopter and then get on high on highway 10, which runs kind of which used to be the old highway between this part of Tarrant County into Dallas County and then hop on over here. And so easiest commuter of the year for me. And of course pays off for the bear cats and a 3170. [2:21:31] When when Walmart said he's is waiting to get to her players of the game, we do want to do want to remind you that the Aledo coaches show a podcast will continue on the road. This coming Monday night over at Polito's Mexican restaurant right off of Ranch House road. We thought that we were going to be going over to JD's hamburgers, but we decided it, but it looks like we're going to stay at Polito's for the time being, maybe for the rest of the football season, but we had a really great dinner crowd there for a Labor Day night. [2:22:01] And we'll have coach Robbie Jones and a couple players with us. So if you want to enjoy some fine Mexican food and listen to the bear cats talk about a nice satisfying victory over Trinity and starting to look ahead to district 360 play. Please join us at Polito's Monday night, seven o'clock start with the Aledo coaches show podcast. Okay. Now time for our players of the game. They are brought to you by Aaron Valencia, the A game agent. And here's Mercedes with our players of the game. [2:22:28] We're going to first start with Kane Lanier, Kane just maybe it was a better week of practice. What was it about this the team this week that came together for this game? [2:22:37] I did feel like we had a better week of practice this week than the past weeks. And then I felt like we got an erhythm from the very jump, like from the very beginning. Just got an erhythm and was able to move the ball. And it's yeah got it momentum real fast. [2:22:52] Coach talked really this week about consistency. So you'd have a good series and you'd have a not so good series and kind of back and forth and up and down. But this time I feel like you guys put together several good series. He said he wants to see. [2:23:04] I just start the second half. But what did you like about what happened today? I definitely liked how consistent we were. And I think being consistent and like trying to be consistent every single day in practice really showed up on the field tonight and really helped us get the win and do good on offense. [2:23:23] I think you guys hear people say I was oh and two was that a little bit of a response was this a good response. Yes, I think it was a great response, especially to even our own classmates and everything. It's a great response to just everyone in six and everyone in high school football. [2:23:38] All right, thanks Kane. [2:23:42] So Amari Dimboo is our other A game agent player of the game. But Omari wanted to know if he was the offensive or the defensive player of the game. He's the defense. And I said you're the defensive player of the game. But I'll give you a little bit of a hat tip for also playing a lot of offensive snaps. But you have made that transition over to the defensive side of the ball. [2:24:01] How much fun is it? It's so much fun. Oh my gosh. I love it, especially playing with all my friends. Not saying I don't have friends on the O line, but it's just I love it. I love getting asked the football. [2:24:10] The last two weeks you guys really, I mean, you played hard. You had a good place. You had tough opponents. How much did you want to turn everything around though and have a really good game tonight? I mean, it was much needed. We were due for a win. So we had to and then we did it. So I'm very happy about that. So coach, John said you said you'd play every every down if you needed to. Maybe you were kind of joking. Maybe you're serious. I was so serious. I was I've been losing. So I just want to do it with the Rock and for the team to win. [2:24:38] So we talk about the defensive front that especially in this game, you and time and then what Max Foreman brings and everything and just kind of you guys kind of dominated the line. That's what we do. I mean, we don't have to line the scrimmage. Don't forget, Jojo. Oh, yes, Jojo. Sorry. He got hurt though, but he's still there. And we don't let the line of scrimmage. That's what we do. Every single game. So. [2:25:00] Okay, well, congratulations to our defensive slash kind of offensive. Can if you'll give him a little bit of that a game agent play the game. [2:25:09] All right. Thanks Mercedes again, brought to you by Aaron Valencia, the a game agent Mercedes will now track down a little head coach Robbie Jones who will be in a far better mood and far better mood. And so I mean, you can understand his frustration. I know, you know, he feels like he obviously feels like they let one get away last week against midway when they were trailing the entire game. [2:25:30] Got the thing tied in the early part of the fourth quarter. Then they had that terrible penalty, which by the way, if you did not hear about what happened on that on sportsman like conduct penalty against the tro against the [2:25:40] bear cats was that Max Foreman was whistled for that on sportsman like conduct because he made an ingestion, which he said he where he was telling the midway quarterback that he had tipped the ball like tipping motion and like officials use. [2:25:54] But I guess the official thought that it was in it was something of a taunting kind of gesture and that's why he got flag on. Of course, that was the penalty were if he doesn't get flagged for that trend. He's got to excuse me. [2:26:07] St. Trinity far too much, but Alito gets gets midway off the field. The forces of punk gets the ball back and will never know what happens. But unfortunately, midway took it down and scored and then the bear cats couldn't, you know, got all the way down to the 26 yard line. Couldn't do anything after that. And so [2:26:21] I know just that the Alito coaching staff was really frustrated with that thinking that the official right into that. But sometimes it's, you know, there's also that thing to you just say, don't give him a reason to throw it. [2:26:34] I'd say if you give him an opportunity to to pick the wrong thing, most likely they will. So that's my experience with officials anyway. Yes. And so, but, you know, they need this again, the bear cats will be on the road. [2:26:47] Next week to start the district 3 6 a season, they will be playing the Grandbury pirates who were one and one going into tonight's game over at Irving High. We'll give you a couple of the, we'll give you all the district 3 6 a scorched for the end of our broadcast here. And then don't forget the KTW 92.1. [2:27:06] The high school schoolwork show will follow after this post game show. And if you are wondering why we're just going to the post game show now is because we did not start until about 752 or 753. We had lightning delays which set us back nearly about an hour, which is why we didn't start until then, rather than the schedule time of 7 o'clock. Okay, Mercedes has Robbie Jones, Mercedes, it's all yours. [2:27:28] Alright, coach, let's Kevin and Kyle were just talking about the delay and just what that kind of does to you and you want your guys to be up and then you're down and then you run out there and then you're down. Like how did that affect you guys at all? [2:27:39] Well, the good thing was it was pre game. So, you know, you don't get too high during your pre game. But, you know, we went out and started pre game twice and got pulled off the field. And then we were able to put in, you know, pretty much an entire pre game before. [2:27:52] You know, and then you had the 20 coming out 20 minutes before the pick off. So I was kind of worried about that and how our kids were going to handle that, but I get. [2:28:01] Just talk about this game period. You hear O and two. What's Alito doing? Nobody's used to this. This is not, I mean, this is the first time that you've started O and two. But this is clearly one that you wanted to really turn things around and get things going the right direction. Yeah, I mean, we needed to get a win before district started. [2:28:18] You know, to get on a roll and going into district, you know, having a lot of confidence, you know, about ourselves and. [2:28:24] And we've started off O and two before. So it's not the first time it's ever happened. And when you come back. And, you know, we graduated so many kids. [2:28:32] And we only have one guy coming back on offense and we had a total of 500 combined yards returning. And then, you know, the guy that had 322 of those. He goes down in the first game. [2:28:44] So, you know, you're putting a lot of guys in the game that haven't had to step up and produce a whole lot, you know, in a football game. [2:28:52] And now those guys are stepping up and doing that. So it's good to see gotten their footing. And now they're, you know, good to go and making some plays for us. [2:29:01] We picked a Mario D'Imbou for your defensive player, the game. But I think you could have picked anybody on the line. Honestly, just how good are they playing? [2:29:08] Our defensive line's been playing great. I'll see our results haven't shown it. But those guys. [2:29:15] They're who we lean on. They're the guys that we say, OK, this is our best unit. And they need to do that each and every week. And, you know, Mario's doing a great job. [2:29:24] He feels in some on offense. I don't know how much offense he actually got in tonight. I know he he'll jump his tail in there. You know, he told me last week. He said, hey, look, I can play both ways. The entire game. I said, no, you can't. [2:29:35] You know, this is a successful ball. And people don't do that. We'll use just as much as we can. And he did a really good job on both sides. [2:29:43] He actually asked me if he got offensive or defensive player in the game. Yeah, I don't know. I don't know. Like I said, I don't even know how much he was actually in their own offense. I know he was on the Palm Quest screen that we, you know, got down into the red zone on. But I'm not sure how much he was in there. [2:29:58] So, tray is clear. [2:30:00] I've really grown a lot to a couple of mistakes today, but did you like to see his progression tonight? I did. He had a lot of focus this week, and I think that showed in the game. Now he did lose a little focus there at the end. And we talked about it after he threw that last interception that you don't put the ball in jeopardy in that situation. The guy wasn't open either throw it out of bounds, finds the drag route, something like that. Or take off and run with the football like. [2:30:30] We had a third down conversion where he didn't have the open and he took off and picked up first down. And we're going to need him to do that several times throughout the year. All right, well, congratulations coach. All right, thanks for say these and thanks to Robbie. We'll take a one minute time out, continuing with the Titan Radio Mix Post game show. We'll look at the stats when we come back. You're listening to Aledo Bearcats football on 92.1 Hank FM. [2:30:54] And Jack medals were not just about steel buildings. [2:31:56] Titan Reddimix Post game show continues here at Pennington Field and Bedford following the Bearcats 31 to 7 victory over the Trinity Trochins time now to take a look at us. [2:32:06] The statistical breakdown of this and it's brought to you by Fort Worth Stockyards Heritage Club. First downs in the ballgame Alito had 14 Trinity six. The Bearcats did finish with 109 yards rushing. [2:32:18] They averaged a little over five yards per carry, which is always a great average. Trinity finished with only 80 and a lot of that came well after the fact and on their only scoring position. Other than that, they didn't do anything. [2:32:30] The Trochins average just two yards per carry passing yards in the ballgame. The Bearcats with 236 Trinity finished with 51. I'd mentioned at a half time that I thought the trod that the Bearcats offense would be destined to surpass last week's total of 357. Actually, they didn't. They actually finished with only 345. They had only 83 yards. [2:32:51] The second half with the score being what it was, they had control of it at 24 to nothing. They had a short field to work on their only scoring position of the second half. Then they just managed things afterwards after that. That's probably why they're rushed. Their yardage total was so was below with what they had done for the previous week. [2:33:08] But here's the good news. Trinity's offense finished with only 131 yards of total offense. That kind of shows you right there. Now the turnover issues for the Bearcats quarterbacks was not great. They finished with three total turnovers, three interceptions, two thrown by Trinity Williams, one throw by Eli Penic. Trinity did turn it over once. That was the Jordan Hall interception in the third quarter. [2:33:31] Trojans also did fumble at twice, but did not lose either one. Third downs in the ball again. The Bearcats were really good. Six of eight Trinity just four of 12. The Bearcats average need was six. Trinity's average need was five. Bearcats did not do anything on did not need to attempt anything on fourth down. The Trojans tried fourth, tried fourth downs twice in the first half and came away with nothing on each time. [2:33:56] The Bearcats turned those into touchdowns and the Trojans averaged need about was about six yards on that. Bearcats did punt twice. They averaged 55 yards. Trinity punted four times average 38 yards. Penalties in the ballgame. Kyle, this is the one thing about Trinity as much or excuse me about Alito as much as we've said. [2:34:15] Here's the fact that the one quiet element about this team through the first three weeks really penalty free. I mean they've had just a less than a handful in each of them. I think they had six in the opener, maybe three or four last week off the top of my head can't have to look at it, but only three tonight for excuse me, two tonight for 15 yards Trinity for for 29. [2:34:33] Yeah, they have been disciplining that in that department. Obviously that the big one that stands out from last week was really a killer, but they haven't put themselves in a lot of bad spots via penalty. You know, now there's been a handful of other issues they've had to deal with, but this week, you know, they went out there and really played well and the penalties weren't an issue, special teams looked good. All three phases of the game looked good and in a going forward. I think you've got to be pretty encouraged what happened here tonight. [2:34:59] Time of possession, Alito with 19 minutes and 42 seconds, Trinity with 29 minutes and 18 seconds individually for the bear cats here. [2:35:06] Trey Williams, as you heard Robbie Jones mentioned about, we're going to need him to run every now and then for that did have one critical 10 yard run, which converted a third down and kept a scoring drive going. [2:35:17] Again, the one carry for 10 yards, Izzy Roberts, nine carries for 45 yards. Why at Dorsey 10 for 42 Eli, pinnick the back up quarterback to carries for 12 yards. Trey Williams through the air, 16 of 25 for 236 yards, the two unfortunate interceptions, but then they also through three touchdown passes in the ball game. [2:35:36] Pinnick tonight through it only once and unfortunately that was intercepted as well. The receivers in the ball game for the bear cats tonight, Colby Thompson, two for 38, also caught his first touchdown pass of the year. [2:35:47] Caden Palmquist with four catches for 47 yards, Maddox nurse, quiet night for him just a one catch for 10 yards. [2:35:54] Kane Lanier, he was the big receiver tonight, seven catches for 115 yards to scores and landing Kusich with two catches for 26 yards. [2:36:02] Individually for the Trojans tonight, Mack line, we've had eight carries for 11 yards, but it also was sack twice. It lost 29 yards on those. [2:36:12] Marcus Turner had 21 carries for 46 yards, Trent Turner, the other Turner. He had five carries for 19 yards. Kevin Krona had one carry, but he lost two yards on that. [2:36:23] And then the other ball carrier for the Trojans tonight was Cohen Fia, Fia. He had five catches, or excuse me, five carries for six yards in tonight's ball game. [2:36:32] Mack line, we've heard through the air was seven out of 11 with one interception for 51 yards in the touchdown pass, which went to his tight end and Brendan carry that covered eight yards. [2:36:43] Chroma had a catch for nine yards. Fia, Fia had one catch, didn't get any yards on it. Kerry was the big receiver on the night. He had four catches for 38 yards, and then the other receiver was Carmelo Gray. [2:36:54] He had one catch for four yards. And here's how the scoring went as we will take you to our elders, pure water, play of the game, and because this is how things got started for the bear catch. [2:37:04] It started ominous. Trinity won the toss and deferred to the ball to get the ball to start the second half. They kick it around and the bear catch struggle with it, and they start inside their 15 yard line. [2:37:16] And on the second play of the game, and Tray Williams, there was a really tough interception at the Trinity, excuse me, at the Alito 28 yard line. [2:37:26] So it's point blank range for the Trinity offense, if you will. But they face a fourth and two at the at the Alito 20 yard line. The bear catch defense comes up with the stop. [2:37:37] And that's where everything for this game shifted in Alito's favor. Seven plays, 78 yards, and a good looking play to finish off the drive gave Alito its first lead of the season, and our play of the game is brought to you by elders, pure water. [2:37:53] Third down and eight at the Trinity 22 Williams to throw fires past his caught that slant again to Kaynlinner. He's got running him 10, five touchdown 22 yards for Kaynlinner. [2:38:03] That screen that went for 31 a few moments ago puts the bear cats on the board. They're first lead of the season. [2:38:11] Hard to believe that you could say that, but because of the struggles that the bear cats have had in the first two games against North Crowley and along with Waco Midway. [2:38:20] It had been that kind of a start, but again, a positive beginning because the defense comes up complimentary football plays itself out. Then the bear cats added a 29 yard field goal off the foot, first make of the season for bear cats, kicker, Hudson Parks from 29 yards. [2:38:35] And that made it 10 nothing at the end of the first quarter to the second quarter. We go and why a dorsi added a 10 yard run with about eight and a half minutes to go. That made it 17 to nothing. And then right before the end of the first half. [2:38:48] Trinity was driving down 17 to nothing. The bear cats got a stop at the Trinity 46 yard line on fourth down. Again, another I'd love to know the tackle for loss play number of tackles for loss in this game tonight. [2:39:00] Kyle, but the bear cats have go for four plays 46 yards and right on the first play after the two minute time out. Williams connects with Kaynlinner on a 29 yard ball. [2:39:10] Touchdown pass where he just threw it right over the tops of two Trinity defenders. Linear comes up with a nice catch. And that's how they build the 24 nothing lead at half. [2:39:21] Yeah, no, that was a really good job by Kaynlinner. It was a tough catch, but it was even better throw by trade Williams, putting it all in his guy could go get it. [2:39:29] It was really disimpressed with his poise tonight. He had plenty of reason to maybe not be come out here and play well and be confident like he was, but he came out tonight was confident through the ball really well. [2:39:42] He was spreading the ball to several receivers. I mean, it just looked completely different than what we had seen the first two weeks. [2:39:48] And still more to build on because of the two interceptions, but those are the things that he's that he hopefully will continue to build on when district play starts next week. [2:39:55] And then when the Trojans got the ball to start the third quarter, that's kind of like that pivotal moment. [2:40:00] And saying, you know, if we were talking right before the third quarter started, even though it looked good at 24 to nothing, you want to make sure that you stay on top of the game. Because, and if your defense gets a stop, which they did. And they actually on third down from back lineweaver, he dropped the football as he was being chased on a passing play and then he was able to fall on it. But it was a big loss. So whatever Trinity might have thought on what they wanted to do if they had fourth and short, well, it became fourth and forever. And then they had to put it back. Unfortunately for the Bearcats, the punt return that covered [2:40:30] 46 yards were touched on for Cooper Hall was nullified on a holding penalty. But the Bearcats were still able to convert. As a tray Williams through his, excuse me, his third touchdown of the night, a 10 yard touchdown pass to Colby Thompson. Nice little fake over the middle and Colby broke free behind two to behind the linebacker and an easy pitching catch on that play. Yeah, it was a good job. I tried recognizing the bliss there, bringing off the right side of the offensive line there. He knew it once that happened. He had the middle of the field. [2:41:00] And there he's delivers a really easy ball for Colby Thompson to go up and get it for his first touchdown of the year and his really great read by the quarterback. All right. And for all intents and purposes, that was the game kind of managed out the third quarter. The Bearcats unfortunately turned it over for the third and final time when Williams was picked off by the very talented safety from Ulyss Trinity Chase Davis. He's the commit to Oklahoma State. He returned it to the 40 yard line. But the Trojans were just trying to just score and avoid the shout out which they did 11 plays in 60 yards. And then the. [2:41:30] If you are a touchdown pass from a back line, we were to his tight and Brendan Kerry and that closed the scoring at 31 to 7. So we'll take a one minute time out here. We'll be back. We'll give you some scores from District 3 6 A. And then we'll have our decons out of whack stack and look ahead to the District 3 6 A opener next week. Again, our thanks to our friends at Fort Worth Stock, our Territage Club for the snap breakdown of this Bearcats joyous 31 to 7 victory. Final segment of the Titan Ready Mix post game show comes your way next after this one minute time out. [2:41:59] This is Coach Jones of the 12 time Texas State Champion Lido Bearcats. While cheering on the team, the last thing on your mind should be your water. At elders pure water, they tackle water quality like a linebacker. [2:42:57] Drinking water, hard water, they handle it all. Helping you focus on the game, not your tap. [2:43:26] Final segment of the Titan Reddimix postgame show. A reminder following this postgame show, the KTFW High School School Board show will give you scores from around the area. [2:43:35] Let's first of all give you the scores from District 3.6A because District 3.6A play begins next week for the Bearcats and we'll tell you how all these other teams did last night. [2:43:45] Two games were weatherford one at Pasco, 31 to 18. That game is played at Farrington Field. Arlington, Lamarby, Justin, Northwest, 33 to 15. [2:43:54] Arlington, Bullie, Beat, Halton, 21 to 12. Arlington, Martin, 38. Crowley, 21. Arlington, Sam Houston, Shut up, Clebrin, 62 to nothing. [2:44:05] And then the other two games involving District 3.6A teams. They're early in the fourth quarter where Arlington and Rottock are tied at 40 and of course next week's opponent, the Grandbury Pirates. [2:44:16] They beat Irving tonight on the road over in Irving at Irving School Stadium home with the great Pimento G sandwiches by the way. [2:44:23] Grandbury 55 Irving 20 in this ballgame. This was a long time since I was over at Irving School Stadium but that's what I remember with the spread was not that time. [2:44:31] All right time for the decants out of whack stat of this game. Trinity offense ran 47 plays total. 15 of those plays were either negative or for zero yards. [2:44:42] That's 31.9% of all their plays. So I guess I kind of I asked the question earlier. I'd like to know how many tackles for loss that elite that Alito's defense had. I guess I just got the answer right in the deep and there. [2:44:55] Maybe that's what inspired you to put together the out of whack stat of the game. Exactly. But anyway, the Bearcats defense came to play. They shut down an offense that fraternity would that may get back on track. [2:45:08] Regardless of where Trinity was at and whether or not perhaps on offense. Alito just needed something good to happen. And when they got the start when they got the troubling the they adver start with the interception and the way they bounce back got the lead. [2:45:23] Got the stop from the defense got the lead and then they built on it from their Kyle. You just they looked like a different team. They looked like the team we hope we would see for the balance. [2:45:31] What we hope we'll see for the balance of the regular season. Yeah, and I think you know coach Jones kind of touched on his post game interview about you know the defense of line being the best unit they have. They have to lean on them. Well, they certainly played like it tonight. They really did. And they've really played the defense of line has played well. [2:45:44] It's the first game through the through the first three games regardless of the results the first two and tonight it really just kind of overmatched the offensive line that was in front of them. They really did a good job of living in the backfield. [2:45:56] They disrupted the running game for Trinity and just put him behind schedule so often that they get the Trinity who get me third and really unmanageable situations for what their offense is designed to do, which played into the favor of the lead of defense. And that allowed Alito's offense to get several possessions. [2:46:12] You know with a short field which you know is one of the reasons why Lito's total yardage wasn't as much as last week is I mean they got the ball around midfield or better several times throughout the game. [2:46:23] And they were four different times after out the game. So you know that that that led to one thing and then Lito's offense being able to finish off drives was was the other factor that really made the difference this week. [2:46:36] You know they moved the ball up down the field but just could not you know in critical moments finish off drives to put points on the board. [2:46:43] Yeah that wasn't the issue tonight. You know if they scored on four possessions in a row to end the first half. [2:46:49] And you know that just you can do that consistently move the ball up into the field put points on the board with as good as their defense can be. [2:46:56] I think it's going to work out well for him by the end of the year. [2:46:59] You know and you can see that again it's with offense you have to be patient with it. It's not like what we've seen with Alito offenses in the past years where it was just you know hit hit in the [2:47:11] hit in the ground running out of the gate with big numbers things like that. This was going to be an offense that's kind of that needed the kind of timing development and it still has a way to go. [2:47:20] There's still obviously the two interceptions that trade Williams through tonight. [2:47:24] You know those are plays that he's going to have to get back but I still think I still go back to the big pass play that he threw to Kate and Paul and Chris last week that led to their first touchdown against Midway that that helped change his whole demeanor. [2:47:36] And so if he gets an interception he can shake it off like he did tonight because he bounced back from that first pick tonight and made and just looked like a different quarterback. [2:47:45] And we've seen the first two weeks when your quarterback is confident so is your offense. Yeah I mean because the entire offense is going to feed off of the quarterback he is the leader of the offense. [2:47:54] So if you can get a guy out there who's confident and you know knows he can go out there and do what he's asked to do and do it well that you know goes that spreads out throughout the offense. [2:48:03] So you know with him coming bouncing back from that because that was a tough pick you know I mean he really shouldn't have thrown that ball but he came out the next position right back to throwing the ball and he went down there and they scored a touchdown. [2:48:13] You know and it's always he can continue to build you know stack good games like he did tonight and just continue to you know cut out those negative plays you know like coach Jones that he probably knows he probably shouldn't have thrown that last ball down there is probably trying to force it there and turned out being an interception so you know you learn from that just continue to get better each week it's kind of what we've been talking about so far as you got to continue to consistently improve. [2:48:37] So I think we're going to get to get to start this district schedule next week and see how this see how they do during this district schedule but if any tonight is in the indication I think they'll be just fine. [2:48:49] I think all indications were a lot from a lot of media folks that covered this great game of Texas high school football and yours and I thought was like you know if they get through this non-district portion that one and two going into district that would be you would kind of take that with learning to this now the one I thought they were going to get was last week against midway. [2:49:06] I thought they would have rough times with North Crowley which they did and this game of Trinity we still got the one and two was just the different one that I thought but you'll take it either way. [2:49:16] No absolutely and I what I was most impressed with tonight was how physical you know was on the lines of scrimmage I thought they were the more physical team which typically Trinity that's just what they're doing. [2:49:25] I know they beat him at their own game. [2:49:26] Yeah they ran they they dared him to run in the ball at them and they couldn't they completely shut down the a gaps both defensive tackles for little played outstanding football games I thought. [2:49:35] And they really were the dominant team tonight on the lines of scrimmage which you know usually against Trinity not not always going to be the case well. [2:49:45] 135 starts to be talked about next week that's the consecutive district winning streak is it's on the line it starts up next week when the bear cats open up the district three six a season when they play in Hood County against the two and one Grandbury pirates. [2:50:00] And so we'll see if the Bearcats can keep that going for as long as they can this year. If they were able to run the table at going 7 and out, then it would be 142 going into 2027. But let's just worry about trying to get it to 136 and then even in the books at 2 and 2. So we will have the pregame show for you on 92.1 Hank FM between the Bearcats and the Grandbury Pirates with the pregame show at 630. The kickoff is at 7 o'clock. [3:09:52] No problems with Norfolk state and their guarantee game 59 to three Louisville number 24 meeting Villanova tonight buys. [3:10:00] 4 of 59 to 13. That's also the Cardinals, gimme game on as far as their schedule is concerned. Big [3:10:07] 10, a big 12 teams that are going to be underway this weekend, number six Oregon is at Oklahoma State. That's [3:10:13] at 11 o'clock kickoff. That'll be on ESPN. Another featured game on ABC will be Arizona State taking on number 10 Texas [3:10:20] A&M. That will be at Kyle Field down in college station. As far as at number 22 Houston, they will be [3:10:28] at home taking on Southern and that game Texas Tech, which one it's open to last week kind of got looked a little bit rugged, [3:10:33] but it will be at Oregon State tomorrow night. That'll be a 630 kickoff for the number 13 Red Redoers. [3:10:39] The Sihock trophy at State tomorrow night, 630 kickoff and Iowa City between number 21 Iowa and number [3:10:45] and 1-0 Iowa State. Then TCU opens at the home portion of its schedule, taking on and [3:10:51] gambling the Hornfrogs had the by last week after playing North Carolina in Ireland. Then Baylor will be [3:10:57] on the will be at home taking on its if you will, it's guaranteed game taking on prayer review. [3:11:02] A&M tomorrow night. The tomorrow night down at Floyd KC at McLean Stadium on the campus of Baylor University. [3:11:10] Some notable SEC games that will be played tomorrow. Number 12 Alabama will be at Kentucky. [3:11:18] Arkansas will be visiting number 20 Utah on that. Of course, one of the feature games of the morning will be [3:11:22] number 11 Oklahoma taking on Michigan and that one. Number two Georgia taking on Western Kentucky. [3:11:28] Interesting game tomorrow night at six o'clock with number 18 travels to Atlanta to take on Georgia Tech [3:11:34] in that contest there. Number eight LSU with all the chaos surrounding it with the SEC lawsuits and so forth. [3:11:40] Playing host to Louisiana Tech. I'm purposely avoiding the feature game of the night, but it'll be a 630 start [3:11:46] on ABC between number one Ohio State and number four Texas should be an excellent matchup. Of course, [3:11:52] the return game of last year's visit up in Columbus where Ohio State won that game by square 14 to 7 over Texas. [3:11:58] So the return game there. And then finally, uh, number 17 S. [3:12:02] You will have its home open or three o'clock kickoff at Ford Stadium against UC Davis. That's an FCS team. [3:12:08] But UC Davis has made the playoffs over the last few years in FCS that they got to the quarter finals last year. [3:12:13] So the Mustangs will be tested coming off that 27 24 victory on the road at Florida State on Monday night. [3:12:21] And then of course the Dallas Cowboys will be opening up their season this coming Sunday night. [3:12:26] In New York to take on the Giants obviously that'll be in New Jersey. The game will be on NBC Sunday night football. [3:12:32] 720 is going to be the kickoff between the Cowboys and the Giants. A lot of high expectations between the [3:12:38] with these Cowboys this year because of the new address that they've made to as far as the [3:12:44] defense is concerned as for the Rangers tonight. They're in the top of the 7th out in Phoenix, [3:12:49] taking on the Arizona Diamondbacks not going very well. They're getting blown out nine to one. [3:12:53] They're in the top of the 7th inning. And if you're wondering about how things are going with the Houston [3:12:57] Astros because they're falling further and further behind them tonight. The Astros are taking on [3:13:04] scrolling down there. They took on the Tampa Bay race tonight and Tampa Bay won this game on a walkoff [3:13:10] home run won the game by a score three to one. That meant that the race actually clinched a playoff [3:13:15] for tonight. So what this means is if this holds for the Rangers tonight as far as the American League West is concerned, [3:13:20] they will remain three games behind the Astros here going into the final two weeks of the season as for the wild card for [3:13:26] the Rangers. They've got a little work to do too. They've got about since Cleveland holds the last wild card spot [3:13:33] and one in Minneapolis tonight beat the Minnesota twins five to two. That means the Rangers will fall three games behind [3:13:40] Cleveland for the final wild card spot as far as that is concerned. So it's not going well for the Rangers. [3:13:45] But we'll update you all on that next week when we continue with the fourth week edition of the KTFW High School [3:13:51] Scoreboard Show, which will follow a little Bearcats football when the Bearcats will open up the district 36A season [3:13:59] down in Hood County to take on the Grandbury Pirates. We will have the pregame show for you at 630 then the kickoff at 7 o'clock [3:14:05] and then we'll have full coverage of the Bearcats of the Pirates followed by our postgame show as well as the KTFW High School Scoreboard Show.
