What a county burn ban is
Under Texas Local Government Code Section 352.081, a commissioners court may prohibit or restrict outdoor burning in the unincorporated area of the county when it finds drought conditions exist, for up to 90 days at a time. Cities set their own rules inside their limits. The Texas A&M Forest Service keeps the statewide list of counties with bans in force, and that list is what this page reads.
