What you send runs in your words under a "From readers" label, with your name as the submitter, after the Ledger checks that it is yours to tell.
What runs: births, engagements, weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, honors, scout and student projects, openings, events, and obituary links to the funeral home's notice. What does not: anything about a person who has not agreed to it, anything about a minor without a parent, and anything the Ledger cannot check with the person who sent it. Items are read by a person before they run, usually within a week. The standards page has the rules in full.
