The county tax assessor-collector has an office in Aledo at 16600 Old Weatherford Road, drive-through and walk-in, Monday to Friday 8 a.m. to 4:45 p.m., closed noon to 1; title transfers there run 8 to 11:45 and 1 to 4:30. Where is the Aledo office?

What about the main office?

1112 Santa Fe Drive, Weatherford, TX 76086, 817-598-6139; registration Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., open through lunch, with title transfers 8 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. A third office is at 1020 E. Highway 199 in Springtown.

What do I need to bring?

A valid photo ID for every registration or title transaction, an ID requirement adopted by the Texas DMV board in 43 Texas Administrative Code Chapter 217, per the county's page. Payment is cash, a check with valid ID, or Visa or MasterCard with a 2.62 percent fee per transaction.

Do I still need an inspection?

The county's page notes that since Jan. 1, 2025, non-commercial vehicles no longer need a safety inspection before registration; vehicles registered in emissions counties still need emissions tests. Fees, sales tax, title and address-change information are on the DMV's site, txdmv.gov.

What else does the office handle?

Boat registration (renewals cash only, 8 a.m. to 4:15 p.m.), beer, wine and liquor permits, and special inventory tax, per the county. Driver's licenses are a state DPS function; the page lists Parker County DPS at 817-599-8463. Property tax questions go to the appraisal district.
