Council took up golf carts and e-bikes, the county water agency and the FM 1187 design contract Thursday night
Work session on state law and local options for golf carts, bicycles, e-bikes and off-road vehicles; discussion of joining the Parker County Public Utility Agency ($20,000 first-year share); a $932,729 Freese and Nichols contract to design utility relocations ahead of TxDOT's FM 1187 rebuild; renewal of the overnight sheriff's contract; a rezoning at 112 Robert Street.
Votes will be reported when the minutes are published, expected in the Sept. 17 packet.
Where it stands: TxDOT is rebuilding FM 1187 through Aledo; the city must move about 9,000 feet of water line and 3,300 feet of sewer first; construction estimate $5.31 million.

Ross Fire: about 90,400 acres, 38% contained as of Thursday morning
Palo Pinto and Jack counties, the county immediately west of Parker. The Forest Service says it was human-caused, from equipment or vehicle use near a roadside. Check the county burn-ban status before any outdoor burning.
