Willow Park's council meets Tuesday, the Bearcats play at Euless Trinity on Friday, and the Aledo City Council meets Sept. 17 with the Sept. 3 minutes expected on its consent agenda.

Parker County remains under a burn ban on the Forest Service's Sunday morning list, one of 208 counties
The Texas A&M Forest Service's county list, updated at 8:56 a.m. Sunday, carries 208 counties including Parker and its neighbors Tarrant, Hood, Palo Pinto, Wise, Johnson, Jack, Erath, Somervell and Denton. Under Local Government Code Section 352.081 a county ban covers outdoor burning in the unincorporated area; cities set their own rules inside their limits.
Where it stands: About 90,400 acres in Palo Pinto and Jack counties, 38% contained as of Sept. 3; human-caused per the Forest Service.

Aledo housing in August: $702,500 median list price, 206 active listings, 66 days on market
Realtor.com's August figures for ZIP 76008: a median listing price of $702,500 against $589,900 in August 2025; 206 active listings against 259; 56 new listings, 80 with a price cut and 103 pending; a median of 66 days on market against 70; $222 per square foot. Zillow's typical home value for the ZIP was $540,540 in July, down 1.6% from $549,236 a year earlier. Zillow's figure is a modeled value, not a sale price; Texas does not disclose sale prices.

The district's 2026-2027 instructional calendar, adopted Jan. 20, 2026, lists Sept. 7 as a student and staff holiday; Sept. 4 was a student holiday and work day. The next student holiday is Oct. 12 through 16.
