Compiled from the record with an editor

Wednesday: the backup Aledo ISD posted Tuesday afternoon shows Resolution 10202026-1, listed on the agenda as a donation of real property to Parker County, is an 890-square-foot permanent sanitary sewer easement on the Aledo Middle School tract that the City of Aledo would pay $6,230 for; Willow Park reopened E. Bankhead Highway and Willow Bend Drive to through traffic; and the state has called an Ozone Action Day for Dallas-Fort Worth, Parker County included

Why it matters. The district filled in the one board item that had no paperwork Monday, and Willow Park changed its Bankhead traffic rules for the first time since the Oct. 13-14 closure.

Sunny today with a high near 81. Air Quality Alert until 6:30 p.m. Burn ban: still on in Parker County, though the statewide list is shorter. Early voting for Nov. 3 runs through Oct. 30.

The record

Aledo ISD's real-property item is a sewer easement at Aledo Middle School for the City of Aledo, not a land donation to Parker County: 0.0204 acre (890 square feet), with a $6,230 offer from the city

The agenda lists Resolution 10202026-1 as "Authorizing the Donation of Real Property to Parker County, Texas." The board memo and draft easement posted Tuesday at 2:11 p.m. describe something narrower. The City of Aledo is "undertaking the 18-Inch Sanitary Sewer Improvement Project to upgrade an existing sanitary sewer line that has become undersized because of increased wastewater demand and aging infrastructure," and its right-of-way agent, 7Arrows Land Staff, LLC, sent an initial offer letter dated Aug. 31 "seeking a permanent sanitary sewer easement out of the Aledo Middle School tract" at 400 FM 1187. The easement runs along the campus's northwest line, shared with St. Paul Lutheran Church, next to an existing 30-foot sewer and drainage easement, and the memo says it "is not needed for current or planned campus operations."

"The City's offer is $6,230.00, stated to be based on the current tax valuation of the land," the memo says; "The District retains fee ownership." It calls the Aug. 31 letter "an initial offer, not a final offer supported by a certified appraisal." Presenter Caleb Bell, chief facilities and construction officer; administration recommended trustees let the superintendent, with legal counsel, negotiate final terms and sign the easement. The draft easement names the City of Aledo as grantee. BoardBook had not posted Tuesday night's votes as of Wednesday morning.

Also posted Tuesday afternoon: Athletic Performance Volleyball coaches would become unpaid adjunct faculty so students at those events count as present, and an outline for the board's 2027 legislative priorities

The adjunct-faculty memo, on the consent agenda, cites state rules under which a student at an approved off-campus activity supervised by adjunct faculty may be counted "in attendance" for state funding; the coaches "receive no compensation from Aledo ISD," and approval "allows our students participating in these programs to attend these events and be counted present at school that day." The legislative-priorities item, from trustees Forrest Collins, David Lear and Jim Scott with Superintendent Susan Bohn, was a discussion ahead of the 90th Texas Legislature, which convenes in January 2027; the memo lists no attachments and no recommendation.

Ozone Action Day today: the NWS Air Quality Alert covers Parker, Tarrant, Hood, Johnson, Wise and eight other North Texas counties until 6:30 p.m.

The alert says: "The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) has issued an Ozone Action Day for the Dallas-Fort Worth area for Wednesday, October 21, 2026." It adds: "Atmospheric conditions are expected to be favorable for producing high levels of ozone air pollution in the Dallas-Fort Worth area on Wednesday. You can help prevent ozone pollution by sharing a ride, walking, riding a bicycle, taking your lunch to work, avoiding drive-through lanes, conserving energy, and keeping your vehicle properly tuned."

Willow Park: E. Bankhead Highway and Willow Bend Drive are open to through traffic again, with flaggers in daytime work zones

The city's update dated Oct. 20 says: "Roads will be open to thru traffic as crews continue work on E. Bankhead Highway and Willow Bend Drive." It calls the earlier no-through-traffic rules and the Oct. 13-14 closure notice "historical," and asks drivers to "slow down, follow flaggers' directions, and proceed with caution." The BlueSky Utilities project runs along E. Bankhead "from the SW corner of the Beall-Dean development to Ranch House Road," began in July and "will take at least a year to complete." Each section is expected to take two to four weeks, and the city says some closures may be overnight. Businesses on Bankhead having trouble with access are asked to call City Hall.
