Wednesday: Willow Park voters reject the home rule charter and the $10.11 million borrowing

Why it matters. All five Willow Park precincts are in on the county's election-night count, and both city questions trail. Late and provisional ballots get added Nov. 10, and nothing is official until the canvass.

The record

1

Willow Park: both city propositions trail in unofficial returns

With 5 of 5 precincts reporting, Proposition A, the proposed Home Rule Charter, has 914 votes for and 1,770 against. Proposition B, the $10,110,000 in certificates of obligation for water and sewer, streets, roads and intersections, and drainage work, has 1,359 for and 1,487 against. The county's results page says "ALL LOCATIONS HAVE REPORTED THIS IS THE FINAL FOR TODAY - LATE AND PROVISIONAL BALLOTS WILL BE ADDED IN ON NOVEMBER 10, 2026," and that results "are unoffical until the authority canvasses the results." The city hasn't posted anything on the outcome yet.

What you can do. Prop B is 128 votes apart, so watch the Nov. 10 update for late and provisional ballots.

Bankhead Highway: sewer line work between Hewitt Lane and Broadway, no closures planned

Willow Park's Nov. 3 update says crews are working along Bankhead Highway between Hewitt Lane and Broadway Boulevard, "where they are excavating and installing sewer lines as construction continues." No road closures are expected, and flaggers will be in active work areas. The BlueSky Utilities project, which began in July and runs from the southwest corner of the Beall-Dean development to Ranch House Road, will take at least a year, the city says.

What you can do. Expect flaggers, not closures, on Bankhead Highway this week.
