EDC packet posted: $4,167.63 sign grant recommended for Williams Trew office; marketing RFQ goes to the board for feedback

The full packet for the Aledo Economic Development Corporation's Nov. 10 meeting went up on CivicClerk Friday, Nov. 6, at 7:02 p.m. Williams Trew, a real estate company the memo says has about 25 years in business, applied through the Aledo Community Enhancement (ACE) Grant Program for new building-mounted and monument signage at a new branch office at 705 FM 1187 S. The application requests $8,335.25, the full project cost; because ACE grants match up to 50% of eligible costs, staff recommend approval for no more than $4,167.63. Priority Signs & Graphics would do the work. A second memo says staff are developing a Request for Qualifications for a firm with experience in economic development marketing, branding and destination promotion, and want the board's feedback on goals and scope before the RFQ is finalized and published. Staff also recommend canceling the Dec. 22 meeting, citing few agenda items and the Christmas holiday. The July 28 minutes in the packet show the board approved the FY 2027 AEDC budget, which included hiring a marketing firm, and took no action after a closed session on Dean Ranch Development, Downtown Development, Bailey Ranch Development and 2 Dean Drive. Tuesday's closed session again lists Downtown Development and Dean Ranch under Section 551.087.
