The agenda sets the meeting for 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 5, in the City Council Chambers at the Aledo Municipal Complex, 200 Old Annetta Road. Two public hearings lead the business. Ordinance No. 2026-O-31 would rezone two tracts at 325 Old Annetta Road, 1.557 acres and 0.473 acres, to the Downtown District; the staff memo says the owner, 325 Old Annetta Road LLC, proposes to turn the existing house and detached garage into a commercial office and group meeting space, and the Planning and Zoning Commission unanimously recommended approval Oct. 8. Ordinance No. 2026-O-32 would require two enclosed off-street spaces for homes on top of a baseline of two spaces per dwelling, stop on-street parking from counting toward required parking in residential districts, and let the city allow up to 10% of required parking on the street in other districts where off-street space is limited; it also fixes a conflict in which the brownstone district called for 1.25 spaces per unit while the parking table called for 2.0. P&Z unanimously recommended approval of that one too. Staff recommend canceling the Nov. 19 meeting because of a limited agenda and Thanksgiving, with a special meeting possible if something comes up. Also listed: appointing City Manager Candice Edmondson and Public Works Director Travis Askins to the Parker County Public Utility Agency board; a fiscal 2027 on-call engineering order with Kimley-Horn, against $225,000 budgeted for general engineering; revisions to five library policies and the library's agreement with the Friends of Aledo Public Library, plus a work session on privacy, programming and TalkBox booth policies (the booths were paid for with a state library grant); approval of the Oct. 15 minutes; and a proclamation for the Aledo Children's AdvoCats in their 24th year. The closed session lists consultation with the city attorney on the Dean Ranch, downtown and Bailey Ranch developments, and economic development deliberation on the Dean Ranch development agreement.

What you can do. Residents can speak during the two public hearings, or during citizen appearances by signing in before the meeting starts; comments are normally limited to three minutes.
