Parker County is under a burn ban, one of 208 counties on the Forest Service list
The Texas A&M Forest Service's county list, updated at 11:20 a.m. Saturday, includes Parker County and every neighboring county: Tarrant, Hood, Palo Pinto, Wise, Johnson, Jack, Erath, Somervell and Denton. The county's own alert center directs residents to the emergency management office's Facebook page for its notices. The Ledger's burn-ban page reads the Forest Service list each time it is opened.

August sales tax allocation to the city: $237,039, up 7.4% from a year earlier
The Comptroller's August payment to the City of Aledo was $237,039, against $220,613 in August 2025. The 2026 total through August is $1,770,384, up 10.7% from the same months of 2025; calendar 2025 closed at $2,506,603. A month's allocation reflects sales made about two months earlier. The full monthly series since January 2013 is now on the site.
