Bearcats fall 28-21 to Waco Midway in the Class 6A home opener, per MaxPreps

Aledo is 0-2 after the 26-0 loss at North Crowley on Aug. 28 and Friday's 28-21 loss to Midway at Tim Buchanan Stadium, per MaxPreps. Next: Sept. 11, 7 p.m., at Euless Trinity; the district opener is Sept. 18 at Granbury.

Thursday's council votes on golf carts, the water agency and the FM 1187 contract are not on the record yet

The Sept. 3 agenda carried the golf cart and e-bike work session, the Parker County Public Utility Agency, the $932,729 Freese and Nichols FM 1187 design contract, the renewal of the overnight sheriff's contract and a rezoning at 112 Robert Street. The votes are reported when the minutes are published; as of this morning CivicClerk shows no agenda posted yet for the Sept. 17 meeting, whose consent agenda normally carries the prior minutes.

Where it stands: TxDOT is rebuilding FM 1187 through Aledo; the city must move about 9,000 feet of water line and 3,300 feet of sewer first. Design contract of $932,729 was on the Sept. 3 agenda; construction estimate $5.31 million.

August sales tax allocation to the city: $237,039, up 7.4% from a year earlier

The Comptroller's August payment to the City of Aledo was $237,039, against $220,613 in August 2025. The 2026 total through August is $1,770,384, up 10.7% from the same months of 2025; calendar 2025 closed at $2,506,603. A month's allocation reflects sales made about two months earlier. The full monthly series since January 2013 is now on the site.
