The Aledo ISD Board of Trustees met in special session Dec. 4, 2017, at 6:05 p.m. with President Jay Stringer, Vice President Hoyt Harris, Secretary Jennifer Loftin and Trustees Bobby J. Rigues and Julie Turner present. After a closed session with the school attorney on the superintendent's contract and search firms that ended at 6:48 p.m. with no action, four firms presented and answered questions: the Texas Association of School Boards, Arrow Education Services, Inc., Jenny Preston Educational Consulting, and Bob E. Griggs & Associates.
At Loftin's request the board discussed keeping parents and the community informed during the search; Communications Director Rick Herrin proposed a superintendent search webpage with a chronological record and a place for public questions, plus social media updates, and Stringer asked for a summary of objectives. The board unanimously postponed a decision on a search firm to a Dec. 6 or later meeting, and adjourned at 8:25 p.m.
