Aledo City Council tonight: the 5 p.m. work session, one item, Dean Ranch, in the Executive Conference Room; then the 6 p.m. regular meeting with a proclamation recognizing October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month, the September 17, 2026 minutes on consent, public hearings on Ordinance No. 2026-O-26 amending the Fiscal Year 2026 Adopted Budget and Ordinance No. 2026-O-27 adopting the FY 2027 Municipal Fee Schedule, and four regular-agenda items

By Christopher Weaver ·

The regular agenda lists Resolution No. 2026-R-18 amending the City of Aledo Purchasing Policy, Ordinance 2026-O-28 removing the prohibition of class 1 E-bikes on paved and unpaved trails in alignment with the Weatherford Mountain Biking Club's established trail rules, Resolution No. 2026-R-19 creating the Parker County Public Utility Agency and authorizing the City of Aledo's membership, and the Agreement regarding the Creation and Initial Funding of the Parker County Public Utility Agency. The executive session lists, under Section 551.071, City of Aledo and City of Fort Worth v. City of Willow Park, Beall-Dean Ranch and Parker County potential Settlement Agreement, Dean Ranch Development Standards and Downtown Development; under Section 551.074, Citizen Boards and Commissions Appointments; and under Section 551.087, Dean Ranch Development Agreement. Item 12 posts appointments to Boards and Commissions for action after the executive session. Both agendas were posted September 25, 2026, per CivicClerk.

Public hearings on Ordinance 2026-O-26, the FY 2026 budget amendment ($1,831,476 in revenue and $1,658,469 in expenditures across all funds per the Sept. 25 memo), and Ordinance 2026-O-27, the FY 2027 fee schedule; Resolution 2026-R-19 and the funding agreement for the Parker County Public Utility Agency, $20,000 from the Enterprise Fund; the Sept. 17 minutes on consent.

Where it stands: Aledo and Fort Worth's suit against Willow Park over the 320-acre Beall-Dean Ranch tract is pending in the 43rd District Court. Aledo's Sept. 17 minutes record an executive session on a potential Settlement Agreement with no action taken; the Oct. 1 agenda opens with a 5 p.m. work session on Dean Ranch and lists the case in closed session. Willow Park's Sept. 22 agenda listed it with the words Mediated Settlement Agreement & Mutual Release; no minutes from that meeting were posted as of Sept. 27. No ruling on the injunction has been published.
