School board creates the Project Redeemer Reinvestment Zone and approves an appraised-value limitation agreement with Hanwha Q Cells Americas Holding Corporation

Two public hearings drew no comments. All three votes were 5-0 at a Friday afternoon special meeting.

The Aledo ISD Board of Trustees met in special session at 3:35 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16, 2022, with President Hoyt Harris and Trustees Jessica Brown, Jennifer Loftin, Jennifer Taylor and David Lear present. After a closed session with consultants on the economic development application for Project Redeemer, attorney Kevin O'Hanlon of O'Hanlon, Demerath & Castillo gave overviews at two public hearings, on the Project Redeemer Reinvestment Zone No. 001 and on the application of Hanwha Q Cells Americas Holding Corporation, Comptroller Application No. 2088, for an appraised value limitation on qualified property. No public comments were shared at either.

The board then adopted a resolution creating Project Redeemer Reinvestment Zone No. 001, adopted findings on the Hanwha Q Cells application, and approved an agreement with Hanwha Q Cells Americas Holding Corporation for an appraised value limitation on qualified property, each 5-0. The meeting adjourned at 5:16 p.m.
