City property tax rate, 2026
Adopted Sept. 8, 5-0 on a roll call, by Ordinance 948-26, per the draft minutes in the Sept. 22 packet (minutes not yet approved).
Per $100 of taxable value, on top of the school district, the county and any other unit that taxes the parcel.

When the council meets

Police
Chief Carol L. Riddle. Began operations January 2026; Parker County deputies cover 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. under contract.
Water and sewer
Inside the city, the City of Aledo provides water and wastewater; service starts with a residential or commercial application, wastewater is billed on winter-average water use, and rates are in the city's fee schedule effective Oct.

A fiscal 2026-27 utility fee ordinance on the Sept. 22 agenda leaves water base rates and wastewater rates unchanged and proposes residential volumetric charges of $4.13, $5.17, $6.44 and $8.20 per 1,000 gallons across four tiers, with residential and senior deposits rising from $100 to $150; the council is also asked to authorize Jacob & Martin Engineering to solicit bids to replace the El Chico Pump Station ground storage tank.

In court with each other
In litigation and in closed session. Aledo and Fort Worth's suit against Willow Park over the ranch's annexation is pending, with Parker County added as a defendant in June 2026; the council posts Dean Ranch for closed session at nearly every meeting; the county posted Beall Dean Ranch Development incentive negotiations in January 2026 with no action.

The county water agency both are weighing
Under consideration. Freese & Nichols presented the agency to the Commissioners Court in November 2025, the Aledo council was briefed June 4, 2026, and the agency was on the council's Sept. 3, 2026 agenda; no Aledo vote on joining is on the record yet.

Hudson Oaks, Annetta, Annetta North and Annetta South set their own rates and keep their own councils, and Walsh is inside the City of Fort Worth. Their 2026 rates are on the Growth Ledger as each posts them, and the estimator leaves a city's line blank until it has a document for it. On county land there is no city rate at all; Parker County is the local government.
