The update, posted at 10 a.m. Tuesday, lists the fire's size as an estimated 90,400 acres, containment at 57%, a start date of Aug. 24 and the cause as Equipment Use, Under Investigation. It says the structure assessment team has completed its initial assessment: the wildfire has destroyed 167 structures, including 18 occupied residences, and damaged 95 structures, and 453 structures were saved. There are no road closures or evacuations at this time, per the update. On the weather, it says temperatures will remain in the 100s with relative humidity near 30% each afternoon, winds from the south and southeast with gusts up to 20 mph, and some hint of a change around mid to late week for a return to at least isolated thunderstorms; the reburn potential from scorched timber and strong southeasterly winds remain a concern.
