Walsh Ranch (Aledo, 76008)

H-E-B Walsh Ranch: what the state filing shows: a 127,754-square-foot store at FM 3325 and the I-20 service road, $18 million, completion filed for Dec. 16, 2026

H-E-B Grocery Company registered the store with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation on July 8, 2025, with a construction start of Oct. 20, 2025 and a completion date of Dec. 16, 2026 as filed. It would be the second H-E-B within 10 miles of Aledo after the Hudson Oaks store, and the first inside the Walsh development.

The state record. Project TABS2025022897, HEB Walsh Ranch, facility name HEB Corp#824, was registered with TDLR's Architectural Barriers program on July 8, 2025. The filing lists the location as FM 3325 & I-20 Service Rd, Aledo, TX 76008, in Tarrant County; new construction; 127,754 square feet; an estimated cost of $18,000,000; a start date of Oct. 20, 2025 and a completion date of Dec. 16, 2026; and a current status of Review Complete. The scope of work describes a proposed H-E-B store in Walsh Ranch at FM 3325 and the I-20 service road, mainly one level of non-separated mixed use. The owner of record is H-E-B Grocery Company, LP, 646 South Flores Street, San Antonio; the design firm is RSP Architects, 600 W 6th Street, Fort Worth; the registered accessibility specialist is Melvyn Archer, RAS #312, of Azle. The filing says the project is privately funded, on private land for private use, and that the private funds are not provided by a tenant.

What the company has said. When the filing appeared in July 2025, the Fort Worth Report and WFAA reported that H-E-B's public affairs office said construction would begin around the holiday season and that details would come at a groundbreaking later that fall. WFAA reported that the company had opened 17 North Texas stores since entering the market in 2022, with nine more planned or under construction, and that its Hudson Oaks store is less than 10 miles from the site. The Weatherford Democrat reported that the Hudson Oaks store, Parker County's first H-E-B, was completed in 2019.

The place. Walsh's own news page, in an October 2025 item on the filing, describes Walsh as a 7,500-acre master-planned community in Parker County near the Fort Worth-Aledo line, expected at full buildout to hold more than 15,000 families; the Fort Worth Report put the development at 7,267 acres with about 1,600 acres and 3,500 homesites in the first phase, a 51-acre University of Texas at Arlington campus announced in August 2024, a Worthington Bank headquarters at I-30 and Walsh Ranch Parkway, and 110 acres annexed by Fort Worth in December 2024. The TDLR filing places the store in Tarrant County with an Aledo mailing address, which is how the Walsh portion of 76008 is addressed.

What the record does not show. Whether construction began on the filed date, how far it has come, and an opening date. A TDLR registration is the accessibility review required for construction of public buildings; it is not a building permit, and the filed dates are the registrant's estimates. The Ledger will report the opening date when H-E-B or the city of Fort Worth posts one, and the date the store is listed for sales tax when the Comptroller's permit list shows it.

The company's statements come from the Fort Worth Report and WFAA reports of July 2025 and were not made to the Ledger; the Ledger did not review H-E-B's own announcements after October 2025, the City of Fort Worth's permit record, or construction progress on the site.
