Parker County

Parker County sets a Sept. 22 vote on a $0.28471930 tax rate, equal to its no-new-revenue rate

The county's notice puts the vote at 9 a.m. in Commissioners Court. The rate is $0.00035070 lower than last year's; the notice shows the tax on the average homestead rising 2.71% because values rose.

Parker County has posted its Notice of Meeting to Vote on Tax Rate for 2026. The proposed rate is $0.28471930 per $100 of valuation, which the notice states is the county's no-new-revenue rate. The voter-approval rate is $0.31814400. The meeting to vote is set for September 22, 2026, at 09:00 AM in the Parker County Commissioner's Court, 1 Courthouse Square, Weatherford.

Because the proposed rate is not greater than the no-new-revenue rate, the notice states that the county is not proposing to increase property taxes for the 2026 tax year and is not required to hold an election on the rate. The notice lists Commissioner George Conley, Commissioner Mike Hale, Commissioner Jacob Holt, Commissioner Larry Walden and Judge Pat Deen as for the proposal, with none against, none present and not voting, and none absent.

The notice compares 2025 with 2026: the total rate goes from $0.28507000 to $0.28471930, a decrease of $0.00035070 per $100, or 0.12%. The average homestead taxable value rises from $362,966 to $373,278, an increase of 2.84%. The tax on the average homestead rises from $1,034.71 to $1,062.79, an increase of $28.08, or 2.71%. The total levy on all properties rises from $74,545,819 to $76,540,523, an increase of $1,994,704, or 2.68%.

The county's financial transparency page still lists the 2025-26 rate by fund: general fund $0.178562, debt service $0.056460 and lateral road $0.050048, for a total of $0.285070. No 2026-27 adopted-rate order had been posted there as of Sept. 6.
