Council seeks $2 million for Lasater Addition water mains, rezones the Aledo mobile home park under the new MH district, and orders a water and wastewater master plan update

The council approved a professional services agreement with Freese and Nichols for an updated water and wastewater master plan, with a scope covering updated population and land use projections, hydraulic model updates, system capacity evaluation and an updated capital improvement plan, drawing on the comprehensive plan update and known development activity. It also adopted Resolution No. 2026-R-14, a public art program policy meant as a framework for larger installations and partnerships while the EDC's community enhancement program funds smaller projects. On the consent agenda it approved an amendment to the dispatch services agreement with Parker County, ratified the Library Board's vice chair selection, and approved the June 18 and June 25 minutes.

Tarrant and Pace are sworn in, Harris leaves after 15 years, and the board authorizes Series 2026 refunding bonds and names Vierling Field

The Aledo ISD Board of Trustees met May 18, 2026, with all seven trustees present at the start. Superintendent Susan Bohn thanked Trustee Hoyt Harris for 15 years of service to the district; Harris left the meeting at 6:04 p.m., and the board swore in Zachary Tarrant to Place 6 and Laura Pace to Place 7, with Pace taking her seat at 6:06 p.m. President Forrest Collins announced that all trustees had met or exceeded their continuing education hours for 2025-2026. Bohn celebrated the Aledo Leads Cohort's graduation, and Vice President David Lear reported on the local runoff election.

The Aledo City Council met May 7, 2026, at 200 Old Annetta Road with Mayor Shane Davis, Mayor Pro Tem Shawna Ford and Councilmembers Ben Clark and Summer Jones present; Councilmember Todd Covington arrived during the executive session. The council unanimously approved Resolution No. 2026-R-09 ratifying the results of the March 31, 2026, special election and declaring Melanie Allen elected to Place 4. City Manager Candice Edmondson presented Ford with a plaque in appreciation of her service, and City Secretary Staci King administered the oath of office to Matt Poston, Place 3, and Melanie Allen, Place 4.

School board cancels the May trustee election after candidates go unopposed, approves a donated competition-gym scoreboard, and gives land and an easement to Parker County

On the consent agenda, approved 6-0, the board accepted the certification of unopposed candidates and canceled the May 2, 2026, trustee election. It then approved, each 6-0: the purchase of iPads as an instructional tool for teachers; a digital scoreboard upgrade for the Aledo High School competition gym, with Moritz Automotive Group donating a large portion of the cost; Resolution 03232026-1 authorizing the donation of real property to Parker County and the superintendent to negotiate and execute the terms; and Resolution 03232026-2 authorizing a drainage easement for highway purposes to Parker County.

Council creates a Library Advisory Board, cancels the May election after candidates go unopposed, and previews new engineering design standards

School board approves a student device purchase, pays staff for bad-weather days, and previews a land donation and drainage easement to Parker County

The Aledo ISD Board of Trustees met Feb. 16, 2026, with all seven trustees present. President Forrest Collins celebrated the wrestling and basketball teams. Superintendent Susan Bohn thanked the community for its understanding of the weather-affected school schedule, celebrated the swim team and the Bearcat Regiment's invitation to the TMEA awards, and recognized soccer coach Derek Vierling for his 600th win. Vice President David Lear shared how to vote in the election under way, and Trustee Zachary Tarrant reported on the Aledo Growth Committee's conceptual designs for future high school space.

The consent agenda passed 7-0 and included a class size waiver, a joint election agreement and contract for election services with the Parker County elections administrator for the May 2, 2026, trustee election, authorization for the superintendent to enter a joint election agreement with the Tarrant County elections administrator, the library procurement list recommended by the School Library Advisory Council, a missed school days waiver, and a resolution paying staff for bad weather days. The board's one action item, the purchase of student devices presented by Chief Technology Officer Brooks Moore, passed 7-0.

Council adopts five development-code amendments, calls a special election for Place 4, and votes 3-2 to appraise the old library

The Aledo City Council met Jan. 15, 2026, in the new council chambers at 200 Old Annetta Road, its first meeting with City Manager Candice Edmondson, with Mayor Shane Davis, Mayor Pro Tem Shawna Ford and Councilmembers Ben Clark, Todd Covington and Summer Jones present. The council unanimously adopted Resolution No. 2026-R-01 honoring the late Councilmember Nelson Rowls and proclaiming Jan. 15, 2026, as Nelson Rowls Day in the City of Aledo. Later in the meeting it approved Ordinance No. 2026-O-06 calling a special election to fill the vacancy in Place 4.

With four trustees present, the board splits its appraisal-district votes, takes no action on Tarrant's, and previews a 27-policy update

The Aledo ISD Board of Trustees met Nov. 17, 2025, with Vice President David Lear presiding and Trustees Lynn Morgan, Zachary Tarrant and Jeremy Pruett present. Superintendent Susan Bohn celebrated the district's Veterans Day events and the volleyball team's and Bearcat Regiment's state competitions. Lear reported that the state elections had concluded with results public, and Tarrant updated the board on the Aledo Growth Committee's high school visioning.

On appraisal district elections presented by Chief Financial Officer Earl Husfeld, the board took no action on the Tarrant Appraisal District board and voted 4-0 to split the district's Parker County Appraisal District votes equally between candidates Richard Barret and Joe Wilkinson. The board met in executive session from 7:51 p.m. on the superintendent's performance update, consultation with its attorney, real property and a student matter, and adjourned at 8:55 p.m.

The Aledo ISD Board of Trustees met May 19, 2025, with all seven trustees present. Forrest Collins, Place 4, and Lynn Morgan, Place 5, were sworn in to three-year terms, and Trustee Jennifer Taylor was honored for her years of service on the board. Superintendent Susan Bohn shared the year's volunteer and mentor hours, Trustee Jeremy Pruett updated the board on the strategic partners, Jack Huxel and board members of the Aledo Education Foundation presented a donation to the district, and Vice President David Lear reviewed bills in the legislative session that would affect public education.

Annetta Elementary presented on its Character House leaders. The board commended the Aledo Middle School vertical math team, the month's Bearcats of Character, four Circle of Greatness honorees, the first Aledo High School CTE Aviation students to earn FAA commercial drone pilot certificates, UIL journalism qualifiers and the yearbook's Gold Star, a VASE state champion, state qualifiers in golf, tennis and track and field including a state bronze in the 1,600, a swim and dive Super Elite team selection, academic all-state athletes, a robotics team's 10th-place state finish, and HOSA state qualifiers including a clinical nursing gold medalist. Five trustees canvass the May 2025 trustee election results from Tarrant and Parker counties

Chief Financial Officer Earl Husfeld presented the final results of the May 2025 election from both Tarrant County and Parker County, and the board approved the canvass 5-0 on a motion by Taylor, seconded by Collins. A personnel executive session was posted.

School board adopts new elementary and middle school attendance zones, approves the second guaranteed maximum price for the high school project, and cancels the May 4 election

McAnally Middle School presented on its science classes. The board commended Texas Association of Future Educators and Business Professionals of America state qualifiers, UIL Class 5A state swimming and diving qualifiers, Speak Up Speak Out state qualifiers from both middle schools and the high school, and the eighth-grade reading language arts team. As the superintendent describes a severe budget situation, the board sees draft attendance zones and the high school construction plan, and renews the District of Innovation plan

Superintendent Susan Bohn reiterated the severity of the budget situation following the state's inaction on public school funding and how it would affect student experiences, acknowledged the 2024 Attendance Zone Committee members present, and celebrated Heather Street as the incoming principal of Lynn McKinney Elementary, with Lynn McKinney in attendance as the school's namesake. Brown urged voting in the coming election and updated the bond projects.

The Aledo ISD Board of Trustees met Feb. 22, 2021, with all seven trustees present. President Hoyt Harris commended the staff who repaired campuses damaged by the recent inclement weather and announced the incumbents and candidates for the trustee election. Superintendent Susan Bohn discussed the storm damage across the district and thanked the strategic partners, staff and Imperial Construction for helping the district and families. One resident addressed the board on COVID-19 protocols, and Executive Director of Student Services Scott Kessel presented case numbers.

The board approved, 7-0, a resolution asking Governor Abbott to include public school personnel in the state's definition of non-healthcare frontline workers for vaccine priority. Superintendent Susan Bohn reported that instructional rounds had visited 162 classrooms and that transportation was reworking bus routes around the closure of parts of East Bankhead Highway. Julie Turner reported the PTO's Big Kahuna fundraiser raised $104,000 and the Aledo Education Foundation's first clay shoot approximately $22,000. Forrest Collins reported the legislative subcommittee had met on House Bill 3.

The board approved, each 7-0: an order canvassing the returns of the bond election held Nov. 5, 2019; the charge and membership of the Bond Progress Committee, which Bohn said would meet quarterly and report monthly; the appointment of Collins, Jessica Brown and David Lear to the bond construction subcommittee; and the nomination of Sterling Naron to the Parker County Appraisal District board using all 1,005 of the district's votes. Citty reported that the Aledo A logo is now a trademark the district will enforce, that the district had never observed the federal ruling's 8.5% special education figure, that the deputy superintendent had represented the district before the Aledo City Council in opposition to a beer and wine license for a business across from McAnally Intermediate, and thanked first responders and staff for their handling of the Jan. 22 fires. The board honored the Associated Press 5A football players and trainers, the trustees for School Board Recognition Month, and the PTO for gifts of $12,700 to each elementary campus, $5,000 each to the high school and ninth grade campus and $1,100 to the learning center. President Jay Stringer announced he would not run again.

The board approved, each 5-0: the annual external audit report; the district fiber project; and the calling of the May 2018 trustee election. After an executive session from 9:03 to 9:51 p.m., it approved the amended contract for the Elementary School Site No. 6, 5-0, and voted 5-0 to enter discussions only regarding Middle School No. 2. The board recognized a Vandagriff student's national Veterans Day poster win, and PTO president Jennifer Taylor presented $75,000 for the campuses and reported 12,000 food items gathered with the Community Partners. Education foundation executive director Shawn Callaway and president Tricia Haber presented $159,325.78 for teacher grants, and Rigues was recognized for his election to the Texas Association of School Boards' board. Citty reported the foundation's golf classic raised more than $56,000 and that the foundation would help make playgrounds accessible; Jennifer Loftin had resigned from the foundation's board on her election. The board canvassed the May 9 trustee election, Jay Stringer in Place 1, Jennifer Loftin in Place 2 and David Tillman in Place 3, and the May 9 bond election, which passed, each 6-0 before Loftin was sworn in; the board secretary then swore in all three. The board recognized state visual arts students, the varsity color guard, the horse judging team and McCall Elementary as a Title I high-progress school. After a closed session on officer qualifications, it elected Stringer president, David Davis vice president and Steve Bartley secretary, each 7-0.

Tim Fleet and Kim Gill of Morningstar Development Group presented their housing development. The board recognized the state debate team, an FFA student, a state powerlifter and state band soloists. Hoyt Harris reported the Bearcats and Boots gala raised $175,000 and would move to the Worthington. Bobby J. Rigues reported on TASB's policy language on trustees and board members. Three residents spoke, on teacher salaries, writing instruction and the boys basketball program.

On a motion by Davis seconded by Campbell, the board approved the order calling a bond election with two propositions, Proposition 1 for $28,800,000 and Proposition 2 for $24,400,000, 7-0. Hoyt Harris reported the March 27 gala, and Citty said the education foundation director's salary was $95,000, not the $130,000 being circulated. Bobby J. Rigues a plaque for ten years on the board. After a closed session on reorganization, it elected Jay Stringer president, Davis vice president and Johnny Campbell secretary, each 6-0. Bell Helicopter donates two helicopter shells, the May election field is set, the board readopts its local policies wholesale and approves 2014-2015 staffing and a human resources director

The Aledo ISD Board of Trustees met March 17, 2014, with all seven trustees present. Aledo Middle School's band reported on its Chicago trip. Superintendent Derek Citty announced Bell Helicopter's donation of two helicopter shells worth several hundred thousand dollars for student use, the 2025 Committee's March 4 start, and the May election field: David Davis and Farida Goderya for Place 6, and Hoyt Harris, Riley Morrison and Debra Rogers for Place 7. The board commended state swimmers and state choir students. Harris reported 292 tickets sold for the Bearcats and Boots event. Bobby J. Rigues reported TASB's grassroots top ten issues, led by adequacy and equity, and the winter governance conference's focus on House Bill 5, and asked the board to reconsider its role in implementing the bill; President Jay Stringer questioned Rigues' willingness to present the bill to the board, and the minutes record a lengthy discussion with no resolution. A United Educators Association representative reported a $100 donation to the foundation in the board's honor. The consent agenda passed 7-0.

Hoyt Harris reported the foundation's prize patrol granted $90,595 to teachers. Bobby J. Rigues presented changes to the board operating procedure manual. A resident spoke about science specialists moving to McAnally. The consent agenda passed 6-0.

The board approved, each 6-0: a resolution on compensation days for bad weather; the textbook selection committee; the organizational chart; a shared services agreement with the Bluebonnet cooperative for students with visual impairments; and a right-of-way agreement and easement with Crosstex North Texas Gathering, L.P.; and the Aledo ISD 2025 Committee, 5-0 with Dr. David Tillman out of the room. It voted 5-1, with Rigues against, to reconfigure the elementary schools to kindergarten through fourth grade and McAnally Intermediate to fifth and sixth grades.
