School board accepts the audit for the year ended Aug. 31, 2020, seats the 2021 Attendance Zone Committee and calls the May 1 election
Templeton Demographics presented the fall 2020 update. Every vote was 6-0.
The Aledo ISD Board of Trustees met Jan. 19, 2021, with President Hoyt Harris and Trustees Forrest Collins, Jennifer Taylor, Jessica Brown, Jennifer Loftin and David Lear present. Harris said all three incumbents had filed for re-election and that Superintendent Susan Bohn had received the Aledo Hometown Hero award. Collins reported on the 87th Legislative Session, and Brown on the 2019 bond projects. Aledo High School presented, and the administration marked Board Appreciation Month. Executive Director of Student Services Scott Kessel updated COVID-19 numbers.
The consent agenda, approved 6-0, included agreements to join the Central Texas Purchasing Alliance, Choice Partners and Sourcewell cooperatives, a Tri-County Electric Cooperative easement and a sanitary sewer facility easement with the City of Fort Worth. The board approved, each 6-0: the members of the 2021 Attendance Zone Committee; the annual financial audit for the year ended Aug. 31, 2020, presented by Kirk and Richardson; and the calling of the May 1, 2021, trustee election for three seats.
Instructional specialists presented second-nine-weeks professional learning community ratings; Director of Construction and Facilities Tyler Boswell reviewed the Annetta Elementary, Aledo Middle, McAnally Middle, Early Childhood Academy and new Vandagriff Elementary projects; Trent Smith of Templeton Demographics presented the fall 2020 demographic update and projections; Director of Technology Brooks Moore presented student device deployment; Deputy Superintendent Lynn McKinney previewed Policy Update 116; and Chief Financial Officer Earl Husfeld outlined the 2021-2022 budget process. After an executive session at 9:17 p.m., the meeting adjourned at 10:06 p.m.
