The Aledo ISD Board of Trustees met in special session May 21, 2018, at 5:03 p.m. with Vice President Hoyt Harris presiding and Secretary Jennifer Loftin and Trustees Julie Turner, Forrest Collins and Bobby J. Rigues present. The board secretary swore in Jennifer Loftin, Jessica Brown and David Lear to Places 1, 2 and 3.
In a work session, Executive Director of Curriculum Kathy Allen presented the career and technical education program evaluation and a summary of the February attendance zone workshop, and Denise Dugger presented summer professional development offerings. Trustees then previewed the evening's action items. Loftin asked whether the new grounds and custodial contracts would raise standards, noting complaints about both; Chief Financial Officer Earl Husfeld said the new firm had promised higher service and Superintendent Derek Citty said the specifications had been changed, with a new business office position to monitor the work. Lear asked for clarification of acceptable web-based fundraising applications under policy CDC(Local), which Harris deferred to the regular meeting. The session adjourned at 6:56 p.m.
