Parker and Tarrant Counties Municipal Utility District No. 1: a Nov. 3 election at 12900 Old Weatherford Road on up to $1,800,000,000 in bonds
The district's notice, posted by the county elections office, asks the district's voters to confirm its creation, vote on five directors and authorize water, sewer, drainage and road bonds and two maintenance taxes.
Parker and Tarrant Counties Municipal Utility District No. 1 will hold its own elections on Nov. 3 at 12900 Old Weatherford Road, Aledo, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., according to the district's notice, which the county elections office posted on its notices page. The notice is addressed to the district's qualified electors. It asks them to confirm the creation of the district (Proposition A) and to vote on five directors, and it carries four money questions, each labeled a tax increase.
Proposition B would authorize the district's board to issue bonds in the maximum amount of $1,800,000,000 for water, sanitary sewer, and drainage and storm sewer facilities. Proposition C would authorize bonds in the maximum amount of $911,895,000 for roads; the Spanish text of the same notice gives that amount as $750,000,000. Proposition D would authorize an operation and maintenance tax not to exceed $1.20 per $100 of valuation, and Proposition E a road maintenance tax not to exceed $0.25 per $100. Each bond proposition allows maturities of up to 40 years.
Early voting for the district is at the same address from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on weekdays from Oct. 19 through Oct. 30, and applications for a mail ballot go to the district's early voting clerk in care of Allen Boone Humphries Robinson LLP in Dallas and must be received by 5 p.m. Oct. 23. The county's notice of the general election does not list the district among the entities on the county-run ballot. The district's notice does not describe its boundaries, and the Ledger has not yet read the documents that created it.
