The Aledo ISD Board of Trustees met Feb. 17, 2014, with six trustees present. Coder Elementary teachers described an education foundation grant. Superintendent Derek Citty updated the 2025 Committee and presented a timeline for moving fifth grade to McAnally. The board commended all-state band members, academic all-state cross country and volleyball athletes, a presidential scholar nominee, and Chief Financial Officer Earl Husfeld and the business office for the Texas Honors Circle Award, one of 55 Texas districts. Bobby J. Rigues reported on the Federal Relations Network conference. There were no public comments. The consent agenda passed 6-0.
The East Parker County Library's Sue Ellen Shaw presented the One Book, One Community event; Executive Director of Curriculum Kathy Allen presented the 2012-2013 school report card and House Bill 5's five endorsements; and Director of Student Services and Safety Scott Kessel announced the Huntington SAT and ACT prep program.
The board approved, each 6-0: the TASB Media Honor Roll resolution; an extension and amendment of the standby bond purchase agreement for the variable rate Series 2006-A school building bonds; an order authorizing Unlimited Tax Refunding Bonds, Series 2014, with sale parameters, a purchase contract and an escrow agreement; VLK as architect consultant to the 2025 Committee; the Second Step program; the Lifeline suicide prevention program; the Aledo ISD police memorandum of understanding; calling the May trustee election; the board operating procedure manual presented by Rigues; distance learning equipment for the high school; and amendments for the Life School and Texas Leadership charters. After an executive session from 8:58 to 9:33 p.m., it approved administrative contracts, 6-0, and adjourned at 9:37 p.m.
