Aledo ISD Administration Board Room, 1008 Bailey Ranch Road

Two weeks before the bond election, the board hears the campaign's reach, adopts the 2019-2020 improvement plans and adds David Lear to the legislative subcommittee

Both votes were 6-0. A Region 10 retirement asset management agreement passed on consent.

The Aledo ISD Board of Trustees met Oct. 21, 2019, with President Hoyt Harris, Vice President Jennifer Loftin, Secretary Forrest Collins and Trustees Julie Turner, Jessica Brown and Jennifer Taylor present. Harris reported on the 2019 bond proposal's presentations, webpage and video views and the district's first Facebook Live event. Superintendent Susan Bohn reported on the district's first Start With Hello week and showed an NBC5 segment on it. Aledo High School's forensics class presented a lesson funded by an Aledo Education Foundation grant, and the board commended seven National Merit commended students and three National Hispanic Scholars. There were no public comments.

The consent agenda, approved 6-0, included the Sept. 16 and Oct. 15 minutes and a resolution on an interlocal agreement with the Region 10 Retirement Asset Management Services Cooperative. The board approved the 2019-2020 district and campus improvement plans, presented by Deputy Superintendent Lynn McKinney and Daniel Ninth Grade principal Angela Tims, 6-0, and elected David Lear to the legislative subcommittee, 6-0. Assistant Superintendent Amber Crissey reviewed the instructional focus and, with English language arts specialist Staci Hammer, the timeline for adopting grades 9-12 English language arts materials. After an executive session from 7:22 to 8:36 p.m., the meeting adjourned at 8:37 p.m.
