School board revises the superintendent's contract, adopts the 2022-2023 improvement plans, and hears the growth committee's data on facilities, costs and land
Annetta Elementary won a TASB Exhibit of School Architecture award for innovation. Every vote was 6-0.
The Aledo ISD Board of Trustees met Oct. 18, 2022, with President Hoyt Harris and Trustees Turner, Jessica Brown, Jennifer Loftin, Jennifer Taylor and David Lear present. Harris reported on the TASA/TASB conference. Brown reported on the coming elections and the 88th Legislative Session beginning in January 2023, and on the 2019 bond projects. Aledo Growth Committee co-chairs Dan Reilley and Kelli Stumbo reported on the committee's demographic report, financial report, costs of new facilities and land updates as it determines the district's facility needs.
Coder Elementary presented. The board commended two National Merit semifinalists, 16 commended scholars, and Annetta Elementary's Texas Association of School Boards 2022-2023 Exhibit of School Architecture award for innovation. No one spoke during public comment. The consent agenda, approved 6-0, included a financial aid application opt-out form.
The board approved, each 6-0, annual technology license and warranty renewals presented by Director of Technology Brooks Moore and the 2022-2023 district and campus improvement plans presented by Deputy Superintendent Lynn McKinney. After an executive session on the superintendent's performance update and contract, it approved the revised superintendent contract, 6-0.
Instructional specialists discussed the professional learning community's three big ideas and the first collaborative-team self-assessments, Director of Assessment and Accountability Candace Summerhill presented beginning-of-year screener data, Chief Facilities and Construction Officer Chris Campbell gave an in-depth 2019 bond update, and the legislative subcommittee with Superintendent Susan Bohn discussed the draft 88th session priorities. The meeting adjourned at 9:15 p.m.
