School board buys the Skyward system and police radios, adopts 27 local policies, and celebrates an A in the state's financial integrity rating

The Aledo ISD Board of Trustees met Dec. 16, 2025, with all seven trustees present. The Aledo High School choir performed a holiday song. President Forrest Collins thanked parents and volunteers and congratulated the varsity football team and the programs that make up the game-day experience; co-chairs of the Aledo Growth Committee updated the board on its work. Vandagriff Elementary and Aledo Middle School presented, and the board commended Vandagriff's fifth-grade team, the month's Bearcats of Character, an Nfinity All-American athlete, the Ladycat volleyball team as UIL state bronze medalists, academic all-state honorees in cross country and volleyball, and the district's A rating in the School FIRST financial integrity system.

School board signs the architect agreement for future high school facilities and approves the superintendent's contract

The Aledo ISD Board of Trustees met Sept. 15, 2025, with all seven trustees present. Superintendent Susan Bohn recounted the history of the Bearcats of Character program, previewed homecoming, and celebrated the district's Lone Star Cup for the 2024-2025 school year. Vice President David Lear reported on the Legislature's second special session, including a new state testing structure that begins in the 2027-2028 school year, and Trustee Zachary Tarrant updated the board on the Aledo Growth Committee. Annetta Elementary presented, and the board commended the campus's kindergarten team and the month's Bearcats of Character.

School board opens the year with an A rating from the state, new leaders, and a first look at an architect for future high school space

Lear reported on the implications of the 89th Legislative Session for districts and noted a special session under way, and summarized the Aledo Growth Committee's charge for the year, visioning future high school space; applications to serve on the committee were open through Aug. 20, 2025. The board commended the new members of the district's leadership team, including a chief facilities and construction officer, a director of transportation and six assistant principals.

Assistant Superintendent Amber Crissey reviewed the 2025-2026 district instructional focus, and Chief Facilities and Construction Officer Caleb Bell discussed a potential agreement with Huckabee Architects for conceptual design of future additional high school facilities, a communication item that returned for a vote in September. The board approved 5-0 the purchase of technology annual license and warranty renewals, an addendum to the interlocal agreement with the Public Workers' Compensation Program, and authorization for the superintendent to negotiate and execute an electricity contract.

Twenty-three residents address the board as the 2023 bond projects close and Policy Update 124 is adopted

The Aledo ISD Board of Trustees met April 21, 2025, with Trustees Forrest Collins, Zachary Tarrant, Jeremy Pruett, Jim Scott and David Lear present. Collins reported that all trustees had exceeded their required continuing education credits. Superintendent Susan Bohn said registration for 2025-2026 was open, previewed the Committed to the Cats event, noted that early voting was starting, and said the first Aledo Leads Cohort had completed its workshops and the program would return. Lear reviewed the district's priorities in the legislative session and bills under consideration including House Bill 2, Senate Bill 2 and House Bill 6. Tarrant and Aledo Growth Committee co-chair Kelli Stumbo gave the final update on the 2023 bond projects as they closed.
