The Aledo ISD Board of Trustees met June 17, 2019, with all seven trustees present. The board commended a UIL state champion pole vaulter and other state track medalists, band and golf state qualifiers, ten teachers drawn for spring-semester perfect attendance awards, and new administrators including a new McAnally Intermediate principal. Julie Turner reported the foundation's Don Daniel golf tournament raised $80,000, the highest amount to date. Forrest Collins said the district awaited TEA guidance on House Bill 3. President Hoyt Harris thanked Vice President Jennifer Loftin for establishing the board operating procedures, which had been approved at the prior meeting. A resident spoke about the district's safety and security.
The consent agenda, approved 7-0, included the policy revision to BBF(Local) on board member ethics and revisions under Update 112. The board approved, each 7-0: the engagement letter with Kirk & Richardson, P.C. for the audit of the fiscal year ending Aug. 31, 2019; a resolution extending the bank depository contract with First Financial Bank for the 2019-2021 biennium; and Tri-Lam Roofing & Waterproofing Inc.'s proposal for code-compliance-level accessibility points at Vandagriff, Stuard and Coder elementaries, Aledo Middle School, the learning center and the high school with 2015 bond funds.
Assistant Superintendent Amber Crissey presented end-of-year implementation data; Superintendent Susan Bohn said Bearcat Growth Committee community meetings would be held July 18 and 23 at Vandagriff Elementary; Chief Financial Officer Earl Husfeld reviewed the budget workshop; and Deputy Superintendent Lynn McKinney explained proposed policy revisions. After an executive session from 7:35 to 8:05 p.m., the meeting adjourned at 8:07 p.m.
