School board seats the 2022-2023 Aledo Growth Committee as the bond committee gives its last report, and approves a Hudson Oaks interlocal, a bus and contract extensions
Nine action items passed 7-0, including two Policy Update 119 policies and custodial and grounds extensions. Forrest Collins was named TASB delegate and David Lear alternate.
The Aledo ISD Board of Trustees met Aug. 22, 2022, with all seven trustees present: President Hoyt Harris, Forrest Collins, Turner, Jessica Brown, David Lear, Jennifer Taylor and Jennifer Loftin. Harris announced upcoming Aledo Growth Committee meetings and a new safety training requirement for trustees. Collins reported on the State Board of Education and the coming legislative session, and Lear on the long-range facility planning subcommittee's tours of other districts' facilities. Bond Progress Committee chair Matt Morris gave the committee's final update as the 2019 bond projects continue and the growth committee begins.
The consent agenda passed 7-0 and included the T-TESS appraisers list and calendar, the agreement to purchase attendance credit under the state's recapture provisions with authority delegated to the superintendent under Texas Education Code Section 11.1511(c)(4), 4-H resolutions for Parker and Tarrant counties, and off-campus PE sites.
The board approved, each 7-0: the appointment of the 2022-2023 Aledo Growth Committee, presented by Superintendent Susan Bohn with co-chair Dan Reilley; the District School Health Advisory Council; the nomination of Julie Cole for TASB board position A and the naming of Collins as delegate and Lear as alternate to TASB's 2022 delegate assembly; an interlocal agreement with the City of Hudson Oaks; the purchase of a school bus; policies EHB(Local) and EHBAA(Local) from Policy Update 119; an extension of the custodial services contract with PBS of Texas/Pritchard Industries; and an extension of the grounds services contract with Ronnie Walters Lawn Care.
Assistant Superintendent Amber Crissey presented the 2022-2023 instructional focus; Director of Facilities and Construction Tyler Boswell gave an in-depth 2019 bond update; Chief Financial Officer Earl Husfeld discussed calling part of the Series 2016 refunding bonds; and Deputy Superintendent Lynn McKinney previewed Policy Update 119 and the policy review recommendations. An executive session on the superintendent's contract and evaluation instrument was posted.
