School board adopts its priorities for the 88th Legislature as the growth committee reports and the 2019 bond turns three
A police vehicle and a general fund amendment passed on consent, 6-0. Staff previewed rooftop air conditioning replacements for the auditorium and the Early Childhood Academy.
The Aledo ISD Board of Trustees met Nov. 14, 2022, with President Hoyt Harris and Trustees David Lear, Jennifer Taylor, Jennifer Loftin, Turner and Jessica Brown present; Forrest Collins joined at 7:13 p.m. Superintendent Susan Bohn noted the week marked the third anniversary of the 2019 bond's passage. Brown reported on the legislative subcommittee's work to finalize priorities for the 88th session and on the 2019 bond projects, and Aledo Growth Committee co-chair Dan Reilley updated the board on the committee.
McAnally Middle School presented on its eight houses built around the Positivity Project. The board commended FFA national finalists, cross country state qualifiers, Circle of Greatness honorees and McCall Elementary's third-grade team. No one spoke during public comment. The consent agenda passed 6-0 and included 2022-2023 class size exception waivers, the purchase of a police vehicle and a 2022-2023 general fund budget amendment.
The board approved the district's 88th Legislative Session priorities as presented, 7-0. Assistant Superintendent Amber Crissey and early literacy specialists shared instructional data; Chief Facilities and Construction Officer Chris Campbell updated the 2019 bond and previewed rooftop air conditioning units for the high school auditorium and the Early Childhood Academy; and Deputy Superintendent Lynn McKinney previewed a change to policy COA(Local). The board met in executive session at 8 p.m. on the superintendent's performance update and adjourned at 8:45 p.m.
