School board approves the Annetta Flock camera agreement, fiber upgrades, school buses from 2023 bond funds and easements for Old Weatherford Road
Football and volleyball were ranked No. 1 in the state, and the Aledo Growth Committee's co-chairs reported on high school visioning. Every vote was 5-0.
The Aledo ISD Board of Trustees met Oct. 21, 2025, with Trustees Forrest Collins, Zachary Tarrant, Jeremy Pruett, Lynn Morgan and David Lear present. Collins celebrated the football and volleyball teams' No. 1 state rankings and the Bearcat Regiment; Superintendent Susan Bohn celebrated the cross country team, shared voting information for the election under way, and introduced the Aledo Presidents' Roundtable, a new group bringing strategic partners and booster club leadership together. Lear reviewed the constitutional amendments on the ballot, and Aledo Growth Committee members reported on the committee's fall high school visioning work.
Walsh Elementary presented, and the board commended the Aledo High School Spanish II team, the month's Bearcats of Character, a National Merit semifinalist, five National Merit commended scholars, three AP Capstone diploma recipients and a new executive director of special programs. No one spoke during public comment. The consent agenda, approved 5-0, included an amendment to the T-TESS appraiser list, 2025-2026 general fund budget amendments and a new staffing recommendation.
The board approved, each 5-0: Board Policy Update 125, covering the duties of board officers, board and advisory committees, academic achievement, school safety transfers and attendance for credit; the 2025-2026 campus and district improvement plans; an interlocal agreement with the Town of Annetta on Flock security systems; district fiber optic cabling upgrades; temporary construction, public access, drainage and permanent slope easements for the Old Weatherford Road improvement project; Request for Proposal 2505-07 for serving line and kitchen equipment replacement at Vandagriff Elementary; and a school bus order using 2023 bond program funds.
Assistant Superintendent Amber Crissey and Director of Assessment and Accountability Candace Summerhill presented Cycle 1 professional learning community and beginning-of-year screener data. The board met in executive session from 7:36 to 9:35 p.m. on the superintendent's performance update and evaluation instrument, consultation with its attorney, real property and a student matter, and adjourned at 9:36 p.m.
