With four trustees present, the board splits its appraisal-district votes, takes no action on Tarrant's, and previews a 27-policy update
The board commended state-level bands, the choir, cross country teams and Circle of Greatness honorees, and heard plans for a distributed antenna system and county-access police radios paid for with Safe-Cycle grant funds.
The Aledo ISD Board of Trustees met Nov. 17, 2025, with Vice President David Lear presiding and Trustees Lynn Morgan, Zachary Tarrant and Jeremy Pruett present. Superintendent Susan Bohn celebrated the district's Veterans Day events and the volleyball team's and Bearcat Regiment's state competitions. Lear reported that the state elections had concluded with results public, and Tarrant updated the board on the Aledo Growth Committee's high school visioning.
McKinney Elementary presented, and the board commended the campus's fourth-grade team, the month's Bearcats of Character, the Aledo High School choir as a TMEA invited choir, the Aledo Middle School Honor Winds for third place in the TMEA 3C honor band state contest and a national win in the 2025 National Wind Band Honors contest, the Aledo Middle School Symphonic Winds and McAnally Middle School Honor Band for Citation of Excellence awards, the Aledo High School Wind Ensemble for third place in the TMEA 5A honor band state contest, the percussion ensemble as a TMEA invited ensemble, the Bearcat Regiment as Class 5A state marching band championship qualifiers, the boys cross country state qualifiers including a third-place individual medalist, the girls cross country state bronze medalists including a second-place individual medalist, and four Circle of Greatness honorees.
Three people spoke on non-agenda items. The consent agenda, including class size waivers, passed 4-0. In communication items, Career and Technical Education staff updated the board on advanced academics and college, career and military readiness; Chief Technology Officer Brooks Moore discussed the Skyward student information and enterprise resource planning system; Chief of Police David Stevens discussed using Safe-Cycle grant funds for a distributed antenna system and county-access police radios; and Deputy Superintendent Kim Raymond walked through Board Policy Update 126, 27 local policies ranging from public participation at board meetings and cybersecurity to artificial intelligence, student discipline and conduct on school premises.
On appraisal district elections presented by Chief Financial Officer Earl Husfeld, the board took no action on the Tarrant Appraisal District board and voted 4-0 to split the district's Parker County Appraisal District votes equally between candidates Richard Barret and Joe Wilkinson. The board met in executive session from 7:51 p.m. on the superintendent's performance update, consultation with its attorney, real property and a student matter, and adjourned at 8:55 p.m.
