McKinney Elementary presented, and the board commended the campus's fourth-grade team, the month's Bearcats of Character, the Aledo High School choir as a TMEA invited choir, the Aledo Middle School Honor Winds for third place in the TMEA 3C honor band state contest and a national win in the 2025 National Wind Band Honors contest, the Aledo Middle School Symphonic Winds and McAnally Middle School Honor Band for Citation of Excellence awards, the Aledo High School Wind Ensemble for third place in the TMEA 5A honor band state contest, the percussion ensemble as a TMEA invited ensemble, the Bearcat Regiment as Class 5A state marching band championship qualifiers, the boys cross country state qualifiers including a third-place individual medalist, the girls cross country state bronze medalists including a second-place individual medalist, and four Circle of Greatness honorees.

School board approves Aledo Middle School turf replacement, Chromebooks and a high school auditorium audio upgrade

McKinney Elementary presented on its principal cohort, and the board commended Annetta Elementary's fourth-grade team and its Solution Tree Promising Practices PLC at Work award, the month's Bearcats of Character, a National Merit finalist, academic all-state swimmers, a VASE qualifier and UIL state swimming and diving qualifiers. School board approves the superintendent's 2024-2025 contract and hears the education foundation's safety campaign

The consent agenda passed 6-0 and included the 2024-2025 School Health Advisory Council appointees, resolutions on the investment program and the designation of the investment officer, the 2024-2025 memorandum of understanding with the Aledo Education Foundation, and class size waivers. Tarrant left the meeting at 6:55 p.m. The board approved a grounds services contract amendment for Lynn McKinney Elementary, 6-0, and after an executive session on the superintendent's contract and evaluation instrument, approved the 2024-2025 superintendent contract as presented, 6-0.

School board opens 2024-2025 with McKinney Elementary and the high school renovations complete, and adopts 19 policy changes

The Aledo ISD Board of Trustees met Aug. 19, 2024, with all seven trustees present. Superintendent Susan Bohn welcomed staff and students back and celebrated the opening of McKinney Elementary School and the renovations at Aledo High School and the Daniel Ninth Grade Campus. Vice President David Lear said the Texas House Public Education Committee had met and that the district's legislative subcommittee would begin its priorities for the 89th session the following week. Trustee Zachary Tarrant updated the 2023 bond projects.

The board approved, each 7-0: technology annual license and warranty renewals, presented by Executive Director of Technology Brooks Moore; safety improvements to the Aledo High School lab and a custodial contract amendment for Lynn McKinney Elementary, presented by Chief Facilities and Construction Officer Chris Campbell; Board Policy Update 123, 13 local policies covering board training, conflict-of-interest disclosures, emergency plans, commissioned peace officers, contracts, leaves, employee and student grievances, homebound instruction, instructional and library materials, and public complaints; the 2024 summer board policy review of six policies including the annual operating budget, graduation, transfers and nonschool use of facilities; and vendor lists for multiple requests for proposal.

Assistant Superintendent Amber Crissey presented the 2024-2025 district instructional focus and the professional learning staff had received, and Campbell updated the bond projects and previewed a grounds contract amendment for McKinney Elementary. As high school construction begins, the board buys IXL and MAP Growth, replaces Coder Elementary's serving line and sets 2024-2025 staffing

The Aledo ISD Board of Trustees met June 17, 2024, with Trustees Forrest Collins, Zachary Tarrant, Jim Scott, Jeremy Pruett, Jennifer Taylor and David Lear present. Collins reviewed subcommittee assignments and the board meeting calendar for 2024-2025. Superintendent Susan Bohn thanked the teachers leading summer school and said the Aledo High School construction and renovation had begun. Lear shared the results of the most recent local and state elections, and Tarrant reported on the tour of the district's newest campus, Lynn McKinney Elementary.

As the superintendent describes a severe budget situation, the board sees draft attendance zones and the high school construction plan, and renews the District of Innovation plan

The Aledo ISD Board of Trustees met Feb. 19, 2024, with Trustees Forrest Collins, Zachary Tarrant, Jessica Brown, Jennifer Loftin and Jennifer Taylor present. Collins discussed the difficult budget decisions ahead. Superintendent Susan Bohn reiterated the severity of the budget situation following the state's inaction on public school funding and how it would affect student experiences, acknowledged the 2024 Attendance Zone Committee members present, and celebrated Heather Street as the incoming principal of Lynn McKinney Elementary, with Lynn McKinney in attendance as the school's namesake. Brown urged voting in the coming election and updated the bond projects.

It voted 6-0 to cast all of the district's votes for Sterling Naron for the Parker County Appraisal District board and took no action on the Tarrant Appraisal District board.
