Guide: what the district's own maps and documents say, kept separate from the Ledger's news reporting. The district's maps and the district's confirmation govern.
Which Aledo ISD school is my address zoned to? Attendance zones for 2026-27, Aledo, Texas
Checked against the district's maps and board records Sunday, October 11, 2026Aledo ISD assigns elementary and middle schools by home address, using maps the school board adopted on March 18, 2024 (6-0), effective August 2024. As of Oct. 11, 2026, no newer map has been posted. There are seven elementary zones and two middle school zones. All high school students attend Aledo High School and its Daniel Ninth Grade Campus.
Check the district's maps, then confirm with the district. The district's maps are the authority. Aledo ISD has no address search; its answer to which school a child will attend is the 2023-2024 Attendance Zone Committee page and the two maps on it.
- Aledo ISD: 2023-2024 Attendance Zone Committee page (the official maps)
- Elementary map: Final Elementary School Attendance Zones, Effective August 2024 (PDF)
- Middle school map: Final Middle School Attendance Zones, Effective August 2024 (PDF)
Then confirm with the district: registration@aledoisd.org or 817-441-8327 (the administration building, 1008 Bailey Ranch Road, Aledo).
The short answer: how Aledo ISD assigns schools
One address falls in one elementary zone and one middle school zone on the district's maps. The Board of Trustees approved the Attendance Zone Committee's proposed elementary and middle school maps at its March 18, 2024 regular meeting on a motion by Trustee Collins, seconded by Trustee Brown; the motion passed 6-0, per the minutes. Both maps are titled Final Elementary School Attendance Zones, Effective August 2024, and Final Middle School Attendance Zones, Effective August 2024.
The district's registration FAQ answers the question of which elementary or middle school a child will attend by pointing to the final attendance zone maps on the Attendance Zone Committee site, which it says show which elementary and middle school a student will attend. The same FAQ says the district does not allow intra-district transfers, so the zone is the school.
The Ledger's report on the March 18, 2024 meeting, with the minutes linked, is at Aledo ISD, March 18, 2024.
How to find your school
The district publishes no address-to-school table and no lookup tool, and the Ledger does not publish one either. Three steps: open the district's elementary map and find the zone label your address falls in; open the middle school map and do the same; then email registration@aledoisd.org or call 817-441-8327 with the exact street address and ask for the elementary, the middle school and bus eligibility. An address near a zone line is a question for the district, not for a map read on a phone.
Before that, check that the address is in Aledo ISD at all (below); a Fort Worth, Willow Park, Hudson Oaks or Annetta mailing address does not settle it.
The seven elementary zones at a glance
The elementary map carries seven zone labels: McCall, McKinney, Walsh, Coder, Annetta, Stuard and Vandagriff. The Ledger describes each zone only by its label and the campus it is named for; which side of a road a line follows is a question for the map at full size and for the district. Campus addresses are from the district's campus page.
McCall Elementary, 400 Scenic Trail, Willow Park 76087, kindergarten through fifth grade. McCall on the record.
Lynn McKinney Elementary, 14748 Lynn McKinney Way, Aledo 76008, kindergarten through fifth grade. The superintendent's March 19, 2024 letter on the committee page says the district's newest elementary school, Lynn McKinney Elementary, opens near the Morningstar neighborhood that fall and that, as with any new school opening, this requires changes to the current attendance zones; the March 18, 2024 board memo says the addition of Lynn McKinney Elementary necessitates that the elementary zones be redrawn and the middle school zones be reviewed. McKinney on the record.
Walsh Elementary, 14113 Walsh Ave., Fort Worth 76008, kindergarten through fifth grade. Walsh on the record.
Coder Elementary, 12 Vernon Road, Aledo 76008, kindergarten through fifth grade. Coder on the record.
Annetta Elementary, 1001 Learners Lane, Annetta 76008, kindergarten through fifth grade. Annetta on the record.
Stuard Elementary, 200 Thunderhead Lane, Aledo 76008, kindergarten through fifth grade. Stuard on the record.
Vandagriff Elementary, 151 FM 5 South, Aledo 76008, kindergarten through fifth grade. Vandagriff on the record.
Middle school zones: McAnally or Aledo Middle?
The middle school map carries two zone labels, McAnally and Aledo. The campuses are McAnally Middle School, 14700 Old Weatherford Road, Fort Worth 76008, grades 6 through 8 (on the record), and Aledo Middle School, 416 FM 1187 South, Aledo 76008, grades 6 through 8 (on the record), per the district's campus page.
The elementary and middle school maps are separate documents. The Ledger has not checked whether every elementary zone sits inside a single middle school zone, so it does not say which middle school an elementary feeds; read both maps for one address, then confirm with the district.
High school: Daniel Ninth Grade Campus and Aledo High School
The district's campus page lists one high school campus, Aledo High School & Daniel Ninth Grade Campus, grades 9 through 12, at 1000 Bailey Ranch Road, Aledo 76008. Aledo High School on the record; Daniel Ninth Grade Campus on the record; the Aledo Learning Center, 1016 Bailey Ranch Road, is the district's other 9-12 campus listing.
A second high school is a concept, not a decision. The district's April 21, 2026 release says the 2025-2026 Aledo Growth Committee presented its final recommendations to the Board of Trustees at the April regular meeting after eight months of work on future high school learning space; that its scope was limited to planning and design and it did not develop or recommend a bond package; that after reviewing enrollment and demographic trends it determined additional high school space may not be needed until around 2032-2033; that the two concepts were a second comprehensive high school and a College and Career Academy; and that the district already owns land just north of McAnally Middle School and east of McKinney Elementary for a potential future second high school. The Ledger's report: Aledo ISD, April 20, 2026; the topic page: future high school space.
First, is your address in Aledo ISD at all?
The district boundary is not a city limit. Aledo ISD says it covers 130 square miles and includes all or part of the communities of Aledo, Annetta, Annetta North, Annetta South, Cresson, Fort Worth, Hudson Oaks and Willow Park.
For boundary questions the district's registration FAQ refers families to the Parker County Appraisal District or the Tarrant County Appraisal District. To attend Aledo ISD, the FAQ says, you must pay property taxes to Aledo ISD on your primary residence (homestead) per the appraisal districts' records; if you buy a tract taxed by Aledo ISD and another school district, the homesteaded primary residence must be built or located on the acreage that pays taxes to Aledo ISD.
The Ledger's address lookup returns the city, county, school district and voting precinct for an address from Census Bureau boundary files; it does not show attendance zones, which the district does not publish as map files, and it is an indication, not the appraisal district's determination.
Can you choose a different school? Transfers and open enrollment
Per the district's registration FAQ: to attend Aledo ISD you must reside within the Aledo ISD boundaries or be employed by Aledo ISD, and Aledo ISD is not an open-enrollment district; Aledo ISD does not accept tuition payments; and the district does not allow intra-district transfers.
Building a house: the FAQ says the residence must be completed within six months from the first day of the student's attendance in Aledo ISD, and the proof-of-residency list calls for a builder's contract signed by both parties. Living with a resident: the resident must complete a Shared Residency form, available from the home campus, notarized and signed by the resident and the parent, with the resident's current proof of residency; the FAQ's residency list says the form must be completed every school year.
History: for the 2024-2025 school year only, the committee page says, the district offered a Stay Put option to current 4th and 7th graders (rising 5th and 8th graders), and their younger siblings at the same school, to remain at their current school for one year, with no bus transportation available. That school year has ended; the page describes no later option.
How zones get redrawn, and when the next change could come
The 2024 redraw ran through a citizen committee, per the March 18, 2024 board memo: the administration and board discussed an Attendance Zone Committee on October 23, 2023; the board adopted the committee's purpose and charge on November 13, 2023; the board appointed the members on December 18, 2023, chosen through trustee appointment, campus nomination and citizen application; the co-chairs presented preliminary elementary and middle school zones on February 19, 2024; the board and community submitted feedback from February 19 to February 28; the committee reconvened March 5 to set the final maps; and the board approved them March 18. The committee page says the committee was chaired by two community members and 48 additional Aledo ISD residents, nearly 50 in all. The Ledger's reports: Nov. 13, 2023, Dec. 18, 2023, Feb. 19, 2024 and March 18, 2024.
A new campus is what triggers a redraw. The 2024 maps followed the opening of Lynn McKinney Elementary; the previous maps were adopted March 11, 2021, 7-0, for the opening of McAnally Middle School, per the Ledger's report from those minutes.
None announced as of Oct. 11, 2026. The committee page still carries only the August 2024 maps, and the board's posted agendas for June 15, June 22, July 28 (cancelled), Aug. 10, Aug. 17, Aug. 24, Sept. 22 and Sept. 30, 2026 list no attendance-zone, boundary or rezoning item. The district's growth committee for 2025-26 was limited to high school planning and recommended no bond, per its April 21, 2026 release; the Ledger's report on the board's Aug. 25, 2025 meeting, which created that committee, is here. The Ledger reads every posted agenda and reports any new attendance zone committee the morning it appears; the edition is free.
How to confirm your school, step by step
1. Check that the address is in Aledo ISD: the Ledger's address lookup for a quick indication, then the appraisal district's record for the parcel, which the district treats as the answer.
2. Open the district's elementary map and middle school map, both on the Attendance Zone Committee page.
3. Email registration@aledoisd.org or call 817-441-8327 with the exact address and ask for the elementary, the middle school and bus eligibility.
4. Buses: the district's transportation page says bus registration for 2026-27 is done in the Ascender Parent Portal with form #15 for elementary and form #16 for secondary, that bus information can be viewed 3 business days after registration, that route information is in the Versatrans MyStop app, and that not all addresses can be accessed through the route system because some new homes are not yet listed. The route system is not a school finder. On the committee page the district said in 2024 that its policy is not to provide transportation to students who live within two miles of the campus in a non-hazardous traffic area; as its example it said it does not provide bus service for students living in the Walsh neighborhood who attend Walsh Elementary, and that the same applies from Morningstar to McKinney Elementary and McAnally Middle School, with an exception for special needs students whose ARD paperwork includes transportation.

Frequently asked questions
Is there a 2026 Aledo ISD zoning map?
No new map has been posted. The maps marked Effective August 2024, which the board adopted March 18, 2024, are the current attendance-zone maps on the district's Attendance Zone Committee page as of Oct. 11, 2026, and the board's posted agendas from June through September 2026 list no attendance-zone item.
Which middle school will my child attend in Aledo ISD?
McAnally Middle School or Aledo Middle School, depending on the address, per the district's middle school map titled Final Middle School Attendance Zones, Effective August 2024, which carries those two zone labels. Confirm an address with the district at registration@aledoisd.org or 817-441-8327.
How many high schools does Aledo ISD have?
One campus for grades 9 through 12: Aledo High School & Daniel Ninth Grade Campus, 1000 Bailey Ranch Road, per the district's campus page. A second high school is a concept the 2025-2026 Aledo Growth Committee presented in April 2026; the district's release says the committee did not recommend a bond and determined added high school space may not be needed until around 2032-2033.
Does Aledo ISD accept transfer students or have open enrollment?
No. The district's registration FAQ says that to attend Aledo ISD you must reside within its boundaries or be employed by Aledo ISD, that it is not an open-enrollment district, and that it does not accept tuition payments.
Can I pick a different elementary school inside Aledo ISD?
No. The registration FAQ says the district does not allow intra-district transfers, so the elementary and middle school are the ones the maps assign to the address.
Is Walsh in Aledo ISD even though it has a Fort Worth address?
The district lists Walsh Elementary at 14113 Walsh Ave., Fort Worth 76008, and says the district includes all or part of Fort Worth. Which elementary and middle school a Walsh address is zoned to is a question for the district's elementary and middle school maps and for the district; check the maps and confirm with the district.
How do I know if an address is in Aledo ISD?
The district refers boundary questions to the Parker County Appraisal District or the Tarrant County Appraisal District, and says a family must pay Aledo ISD property taxes on its homestead. The Ledger's address lookup at /where/ gives a quick indication from Census boundary files; the appraisal district's record is the final word.
When will Aledo ISD rezone again?
None announced as of Oct. 11, 2026. The last two redraws came with new campuses: McAnally Middle School, with maps adopted March 11, 2021, and Lynn McKinney Elementary, with maps adopted March 18, 2024, per the Ledger's reports from the board minutes.
