The Aledo ISD Board of Trustees met June 17, 2024, with Trustees Forrest Collins, Zachary Tarrant, Jim Scott, Jeremy Pruett, Jennifer Taylor and David Lear present. Collins reviewed subcommittee assignments and the board meeting calendar for 2024-2025. Superintendent Susan Bohn thanked the teachers leading summer school and said the Aledo High School construction and renovation had begun. Lear shared the results of the most recent local and state elections, and Tarrant reported on the tour of the district's newest campus, Lynn McKinney Elementary.

The board commended the 2024 UIL state choir solo medalists, state band solo and ensemble medalists, and the softball team as 2024 UIL Class 5A state tournament bronze medalists. The consent agenda, approved 6-0, included a low attendance day waiver and new staffing positions for 2024-2025.

The board approved, each 6-0: IXL Learning language arts, math and real-time diagnostic assessment and NWEA's MAP Growth, presented by Director of Assessment and Accountability Candace Summerhill; Request for Proposal 2404-06 for Coder Elementary School serving line and kitchen equipment replacement, phase 1, presented by Chief Financial Officer Earl Husfeld; and the 2024-2025 Region 11 contracts, presented by Deputy Superintendent Kim Raymond.

Assistant Superintendent Amber Crissey, Math Coordinator Deanne Torres and Summerhill discussed professional learning community implementation and end-of-year screener data; Chief Facilities and Construction Officer Chris Campbell updated the 2023 bond projects and discussed a custodial contract increase for McKinney Elementary and facility rental rates; and Raymond previewed the summer policy review. An executive session on the superintendent's performance update was posted.
