School board finishes Policy Update 119 and its policy review, renews the education foundation agreement, and grants a Fort Worth sewer easement and a Quail Valley construction easement
Vice President Jessica Brown presided. The growth committee's co-chairs summarized its first work, and the new chief facilities and construction officer was welcomed. Every vote was 5-0.
The Aledo ISD Board of Trustees met Sept. 19, 2022, with Vice President Jessica Brown presiding and Trustees Turner, Jennifer Loftin, Jennifer Taylor and David Lear present. Superintendent Susan Bohn urged families to check that they receive district and campus communications and previewed SilverCats events and the Realtors' Breakfast. Brown reported on the 2019 bond projects, and Aledo Growth Committee co-chairs Kelli Stumbo and Dan Reilley summarized the committee's work to date on the district and its growth.
Annetta Elementary presented on its ten houses. The board commended the month's Bearcats of Character and welcomed Christopher Campbell as chief facilities and construction officer. No one spoke during public comment. The consent agenda, approved 5-0, included an interlocal agreement with the Town of Annetta on use of a utility vehicle and a 2022-2023 general fund budget amendment.
The board approved, each 5-0: the remaining policies in TASB Board Policy Update 119; the policy update recommendations that followed the board's complete policy review, presented by Deputy Superintendent Lynn McKinney; a memorandum of understanding with the Aledo Education Foundation; and a permanent sewer facility easement between the City of Fort Worth and the district together with a temporary construction easement between Quail Valley DEVCO VLO, LLC, and the district, presented by Chief Financial Officer Earl Husfeld.
Assistant Superintendent Amber Crissey updated the instructional focus and Advanced Academics Coordinator Angie Wilkinson reported program growth; Director of Facilities and Construction Tyler Boswell updated the 2019 bond projects; McKinney discussed the improvement-plan process; Director of Technology Brooks Moore previewed license and warranty renewals; and Husfeld gave public notice of the 2022-2023 federal grant applications. After an executive session on the superintendent's performance update, the meeting adjourned at 9:13 p.m.
