School board accepts the Project Redeemer application for a Chapter 313 value limitation, hires consultants for it, and charges the 2022-2023 growth committee
Policy CCGB(Local) on economic development, the 2022-2023 student code of conduct and Aledo Middle School furniture also passed. Every vote was 7-0.
The Aledo ISD Board of Trustees met in special session July 25, 2022, with all seven trustees present. Kathy Mathias of MoakCasey and Amalia Hanley of O'Hanlon, Demerath & Castillo presented on Chapter 313 applications, and representatives of KPMG presented the Redeemer project. The board met in closed session with consultants on the economic development application for Project Redeemer.
On items presented by Chief Financial Officer Earl Husfeld, the board adopted Board Policy CCGB(Local) on ad valorem taxes and economic development; accepted the Project Redeemer application for an appraised value limitation on qualified property and authorized the superintendent to submit it to the Comptroller; approved the large project application fee; and retained MoakCasey LLC and O'Hanlon, Demerath & Castillo to assist in processing the application. Each passed 7-0.
The board also approved the 2022-2023 Student Code of Conduct, presented by Deputy Superintendent Lynn McKinney; a furniture purchase for Aledo Middle School and a contingency allowance expenditure authorization for the 2019 bond project at McAnally Middle School, presented by Husfeld and Director of Construction and Facilities Tyler Boswell; and, after Superintendent Susan Bohn discussed the district's demographic projections, the purpose and charge of the 2022-2023 Aledo Growth Committee. Each passed 7-0. An executive session on the superintendent's end-of-year evaluation was posted.
