Aledo ISD Board Room, 1008 Bailey Ranch Road

The 2025 Committee presents its bond recommendation to nine speakers, the board calls the May 9 trustee election, authorizes Series 2015 refunding bonds, and hires Fred Collie as police chief

Every vote was 5-0. The superintendent corrected a rumor about the foundation director's salary, stating it as $95,000.

The Aledo ISD Board of Trustees met Feb. 16, 2015, with five trustees present. Aledo Middle School's robotics club demonstrated inventions. Superintendent Derek Citty proposed a workshop on the 2025 Committee's recommendation ahead of the Feb. 27 deadline to call a bond election, and reported enrollment against functional capacity. Hoyt Harris reported the March 27 gala, and Citty said the education foundation director's salary was $95,000, not the $130,000 being circulated. Bobby J. Rigues reported on the Federal Relations Network in Washington. Nine residents spoke about the bond.

The consent agenda passed 5-0. Director of Student Services and Safety Scott Kessel reported on the Jan. 19 reunification exercise, and Citty, VLK's Leesa Vardeman and 2025 Committee members Drew Poe, Charity Flores and David Springer presented the committee's bond recommendation; the board agreed to meet again Feb. 25.

The board approved, each 5-0: calling the May 9 election for Places 1, 2 and 3; the REAL Essentials program; an order authorizing Unlimited Tax Refunding Bonds, Series 2015, with sale parameters, a bond purchase contract and an escrow agreement; and replacement of the softball and baseball scoreboards. After an executive session from 9:48 to 10:52 p.m., it approved administrator contracts and the hiring of Fred Collie as Aledo ISD police chief, each 5-0. The meeting adjourned at 10:54 p.m.
