School board approves the Early Childhood Academy's schematic design and casts its appraisal-district votes for Sterling Naron
The Bearcat Regiment's seventh-place state finish and a national FFA agriscience winner were commended. No action was taken on the Tarrant Appraisal District board.
The Aledo ISD Board of Trustees met Nov. 15, 2021, with President Hoyt Harris and Trustees David Lear, Jennifer Taylor, Jennifer Loftin, Jessica Brown, Julie Turner and Forrest Collins present. Harris congratulated the Bearcat Regiment on its state competition. Superintendent Susan Bohn said the district was monitoring COVID-19 numbers and would keep updating its health and safety protocols. Collins noted that every seat in the Legislature was up for election, and Brown updated the construction and renovation projects.
Aledo Middle School and Walsh Elementary presented. The board commended the band and visual ensemble as Class 5A UIL state marching contest finalists in seventh place, the boys cross country team's 13th-place state finish, a national FFA agriscience fair winner, journalism award winners, a national student council adviser nominee and Circle of Greatness honorees. Collins and Loftin left at 6:58 p.m.; the consent agenda, including a replacement appointee to the School Health Advisory Council, passed 5-0.
The board approved the schematic design for the 2019 bond project Aledo ISD Early Childhood Academy, presented by PBK architect Lee Osborn with Director of Facilities and Construction Tyler Boswell and Chief Financial Officer Earl Husfeld, 6-0, and voted 6-0 to elect Sterling Naron in full to the Parker County Appraisal District board of directors. No motion was made on the Tarrant Appraisal District board.
Assistant Superintendent Amber Crissey and intervention and curriculum specialists reviewed instructional data and tier 3 intervention, McAnally's social studies team was featured, Boswell updated the 2019 bond, and staff previewed furniture and technology purchases for December. Executive session items included the superintendent's performance update and evaluation instrument and security audits.
