After the winter storm, the board asks the governor to prioritize school staff for vaccines, sees the preliminary attendance zone maps, and sets the Aledo Middle School guaranteed maximum price with Imperial Construction

Every vote was 7-0. No one commented at the 2019-2020 TAPR hearing beyond one speaker on COVID-19 protocols.

The Aledo ISD Board of Trustees met Feb. 22, 2021, with all seven trustees present. President Hoyt Harris commended the staff who repaired campuses damaged by the recent inclement weather and announced the incumbents and candidates for the trustee election. Superintendent Susan Bohn discussed the storm damage across the district and thanked the strategic partners, staff and Imperial Construction for helping the district and families. One resident addressed the board on COVID-19 protocols, and Executive Director of Student Services Scott Kessel presented case numbers.

The board approved, 7-0, a resolution asking Governor Abbott to include public school personnel in the state's definition of non-healthcare frontline workers for vaccine priority. The consent agenda, also 7-0, included TASB Policy Update 116, a staff development minutes waiver and the joint election agreement with Parker County for the May 1, 2021, trustee election.

Attendance Zone Committee co-chairs Peter Healey and Cynthia Llewellyn presented preliminary elementary (2021-2022) and middle school (2022-2023) attendance zone maps for board and community comment. The board then approved, each 7-0: a third-party materials testing consultant for the McAnally Middle School and Aledo Middle School projects; the guaranteed maximum price for the Aledo Middle School additions and renovations with Imperial Construction Inc.; a revision to policy EIC(Local); and a resolution on wage payments during the emergency school closing.

Assistant Superintendent Amber Crissey and Director of Assessment and Accountability Candace Summerhill reviewed middle-of-year data and presented the 2019-2020 Texas Academic Performance Report at a public hearing; Director of Construction and Facilities Tyler Boswell and Director of Communication Mercedes Mayer updated the 2019 bond projects and their public communication; Deputy Superintendent Lynn McKinney gave the first read of the 2021-2022 calendar; and staff previewed technology and furniture for Annetta Elementary and Aledo Middle School.
