The May 1, 2027 election
Aledo ISD and city seatsAledo's local seats are filled at May elections. The next is Saturday, May 1, 2027. This page carries the dates as the Election Code sets them and what the record shows about the seats; it fills in as the county and the two bodies post.
- Aledo ISD seats
- Places 1, 2 and 3. The current terms began May 20, 2024, when David Lear, Jim Scott and Jeremy Pruett were sworn in. In 2024 the seats went unopposed and the election was canceled.
- City of Aledo seats
- Per the city's posting when it calls the election; the council's current roster is in the directory.
- Candidate filing
- Expected Jan. 13 through Feb. 12, 2027, the 78th day before the election under the Election Code's general rule; confirm with the city secretary and the district's board secretary when filing packets post.
- Register to vote by
- Expected April 1, 2027, 30 days before the election.
- Early voting
- Expected Monday, April 19, through Tuesday, April 27, 2027, the 12th through the 4th day before a May uniform election.
- Election Day
- Saturday, May 1, 2027.
"Expected" dates follow the Election Code's schedule; the Secretary of State's 2027 calendar was not yet posted when this page was written on Sept. 5, 2026, and the Ledger will replace them with the posted dates. Results will appear on this page on election night, unofficial until canvassed.
How these seats have been filled
The school board's May elections have often gone uncontested: the record shows the May 2019, May 2020 and May 2024 trustee elections canceled after candidates went unopposed, and contested elections in 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2021. The elections thread has every canvass and cancellation.
