Aledo Council Chambers, 200 Old Annetta Road

Council interviews municipal judge candidates and directs the city manager to open contract negotiations

A three-hour special meeting, almost all of it in closed session, produced one instruction.

The Aledo City Council met in special session June 8, 2026, at 4:30 p.m. at 200 Old Annetta Road with Mayor Shane Davis, Mayor Pro Tem Summer Jones and Councilmembers Ben Clark, Todd Covington, Matthew Poston and Melanie Allen present.

The council recessed into executive session at 5 p.m. for municipal court judge interviews under the personnel provisions of the Open Meetings Act and returned to open session at 7:30 p.m. It then instructed City Manager Candice Edmondson to initiate contract negotiations for a municipal court judge as discussed in executive session. The meeting adjourned at 7:35 p.m.
