New to Aledo? Start here.

Everything below links to the document it came from

About a thousand households a year move into the Aledo ISD footprint. The Ledger is the free morning email that keeps track of the city, the school district and the county for them, from the record. This page is the short version of the first 90 days.

Free. Two or three mornings a week, plus a Friday night edition in football season. No paywall, ever.

The first 90 days

Which city you are actually in, and who represents you. Your mailing address can say Aledo while your taxes go to Willow Park or the county. Sort it out here, then see who sits on the council and the school board.

Your tax bill. Four taxing units, four rates. Enter your appraised value and see what each one charges, with every rate linked to the document that set it. The city's sales tax, month by month since 2013, is here.

Schools. The board meets monthly; here is every meeting since August 2023, what was decided and the minutes. Attendance zones, the calendar and registration live on the district's site; the Ledger's subscribable calendar carries the meetings and the games.

Meetings. Council on the first and third Thursday, planning commission on the second, the EDC monthly. Dates, agendas and how to speak; what happened at each one.

Your subdivision. What the city has decided about Dean Ranch, Shaw Ranch, Bailey Ranch, Dean Drive and more, compiled from the record in the topic threads.

Water, roads, growth. Water and wastewater, FM 1187 and the other road projects, and the comprehensive plan now being written.

Golf carts, food trucks, the library. No ordinance yet; state law changed in 2025; the library thread.

Elections. Nov. 3, 2026: dates, what is on the ballot, and results as they post.

Got the card from a closing folder or a welcome packet? This is what it links to. The Ledger's sponsors buy space, never words; the rules.
