School board adopts the 2014-2015 budget and tax rate after a hearing with four speakers, and approves the attendance-credit purchase
Every vote was 7-0. The president noted the board had met 27 times in the past year.
The Aledo ISD Board of Trustees met in special session Aug. 25, 2014, with all seven trustees present once David Davis arrived. At a public hearing from 7:01 to 8:03 p.m., three audience members spoke about the budget and one about teacher salaries, and Chief Financial Officer Earl Husfeld presented the budget highlights. The board adopted the 2014-2015 budget and the tax rate, the rate in an attachment the minutes reference but do not reproduce, approved the agreement to purchase attendance credits, the final amended 2013-2014 budget and the state waivers, each 7-0. Denise Dugger presented assessment data. Trustees thanked the audience, said teacher salaries would continue to be looked at, and President Jay Stringer noted the board had met 27 times in the past year. The meeting adjourned at 8:33 p.m.
