Aledo ISD Board Room, 1008 Bailey Ranch Road

School board accepts the 2013-2014 audit, adopts Policy Update 101, receives $53,200 from the PTO and honors a retiring police chief

Decisions on the REAL Essentials curriculum and the Athlos charter application were postponed. Every vote was 5-0.

The Aledo ISD Board of Trustees met Jan. 19, 2015, with five trustees present. Stuard Elementary's student council presented, and ten teachers were drawn for $250 attendance awards. Superintendent Derek Citty previewed the 2025 Committee's Jan. 20 meeting on financial information. The board commended Chief Financial Officer Earl Husfeld's Texas Honors Circle Award and the state semifinalist volleyball team, received $53,200 from the PTO, was recognized for School Board Appreciation Month, and presented a plaque to outgoing police chief Chawn Gilliland for 13 years of service. A United Educators Association representative announced a $100 donation to the education foundation in the board's honor.

The consent agenda passed 5-0. Deputy Superintendent Lynn McKinney presented the second-year evaluation of the 2012-2015 strategic plan and the timeline for the 2015-2018 plan, and Husfeld the 2015-2016 budget calendar. The board approved the 2013-2014 audit report, policy EIC(Local) and Policy Update 101, and postponed the REAL Essentials curriculum and a decision on the Athlos Academy charter school, each 5-0. No executive session was needed, and the meeting adjourned at 8:38 p.m.
