The Aledo ISD Board of Trustees met March 16, 2015, with all seven trustees present once Hoyt Harris and David Davis arrived. Aledo High School's robotics club demonstrated a competition robot. Superintendent Derek Citty reported on the strategic planning sessions, the Future Ready consortium and Bearcat Academy, and introduced Chief Fred Collie. The board honored coach Steve Wood for the LaDainian Tomlinson Award, the state champion football team, and all-state choir and band members. Bobby J. Rigues reported on the winter governance conference, Harris on the coming gala, and a resident spoke about varsity boys basketball.
The consent agenda passed 7-0. Denise Dugger reviewed the state accountability timeline and Chief Financial Officer Earl Husfeld reported the 2015-2016 budget on schedule. The board approved, each 7-0: the 2015-2016 staffing projections; Proclamation 2015 instructional materials; the investment officer resolution under policy CDA(Local); and a negative-impact letter on the Athlos Academy charter school. After an executive session from 9:01 to 11:03 p.m., it voted 6-1 to extend and amend the superintendent's contract, with Rigues against. The meeting adjourned at 11:05 p.m.
