Growing faster than the demographer predicted, the district adds 7.5 teaching positions before school starts
The superintendent said 4.5 of the five budgeted emergency positions were already used. The vote was 5-0.
The Aledo ISD Board of Trustees met in special session Aug. 10, 2018, at 8:35 a.m. with President Hoyt Harris, Secretary Forrest Collins and Trustees Julie Turner and Bobby J. Rigues present; Vice President Jennifer Loftin joined at 8:40 a.m. Superintendent Susan Bohn said the fast-growth district was exceeding the demographer's predictions at certain campuses and grade levels more than in the past, that 4.5 of the five emergency positions in the budget had been used, and that three more teachers were needed. The board approved the addition of 7.5 full-time teachers to the 2018-2019 budget, 5-0, and adjourned at 8:54 a.m.
