School board honors state champion softball and baseball teams, adopts the 2014-2015 code of conduct and five policies, one over a dissent, and hears McAnally's construction at 95%

Policy DC(Local) passed 4-1 with Bobby J. Rigues against. A Coder assistant principal was hired.

The Aledo ISD Board of Trustees met July 21, 2014, with five trustees present. Superintendent Derek Citty reported the district's Region 11 teacher of the year nominee and that the McAnally construction was 95% complete for the start of school. The board commended the state champion girls softball and boys baseball teams. President Jay Stringer proposed the 2014-2015 board calendar for August. There were no public comments. The consent agenda passed 5-0.

Deputy Superintendent Lynn McKinney presented the 2013-2014 parent and teacher surveys; Chief Financial Officer Earl Husfeld the budget calendar, general fund projections and debt service history; and Citty the Bearcat Academy, about 30 members meeting monthly to learn the district's functions.

The board approved the 2014-2015 Student Code of Conduct and policies AE(Local), BBG(Local), FNF(Local) and EIE(Local), each 5-0; delayed DCB(Local) and CKE(Local) until Update 100; and approved DC(Local), 4-1, with Rigues against. After an executive session from 8:49 to 10:14 p.m., it approved Jennifer Hoover as Coder Elementary assistant principal, 5-0, and adjourned at 10:16 p.m.
