School board revises the Elementary No. 5 schematic design at Walsh Development's request on a 3-2 vote, adopts the 2016-2017 code of conduct and four policies, and nominates Bobby Rigues to TASB's board

The Aledo ISD Board of Trustees met June 20, 2016, with five trustees present. Special programs staff presented the PALS and ACES programs. Superintendent Derek Citty recognized Mandy Musselwhite as the new Aledo Middle School principal, drew ten teachers for $250 attendance awards, reported the commissioner's decision on the STAAR testing vendor's misplaced test information, and said he would gather information on Districts of Innovation. Bearcat Academy certificates were presented. President Jay Stringer reported on the June 9 board goals workshop, and Citty reported a hole in one at the Don R. Daniel Golf Classic on the hole Mr. Daniel had aced. Bobby J. Rigues reported on an advocacy conference in Washington, D.C. A resident spoke on School Priority Month.
Jennifer Loftin pulled the Region 11 contracts for questions, and they passed 5-0; the rest of the consent agenda, including three charter school considerations, hazardous routes and the E-Rate resolution, passed 5-0. Chief Financial Officer Earl Husfeld presented the budget calendar and a tax value analysis, Citty reviewed his six goals, and Rigues presented a resolution to make every other October a School Priority Month.
On a motion by Dr. David Tillman seconded by Loftin, the board approved the revised final schematic design for Elementary No. 5 as requested by Walsh Development, 3-2, with Rigues and Forrest Collins against. It approved, each 5-0, policies FFA(Local), DNA(Local), DNB(Local) and BED(Local), a resolution to join the PACE purchasing cooperative, a resolution accepting electronic bids, the 2016-2017 Student Code of Conduct and the nomination of Rigues to the TASB board of directors. No executive session was needed, and the meeting adjourned at 10:57 p.m.
