The Aledo ISD Board of Trustees met March 20, 2017, with trustees arriving through the first hour; the minutes' heading misdates the meeting as February. In a work session, Superintendent Derek Citty asked for direction on work sessions and special meetings, reviewed his 2017 goals with trustees requesting quarterly progress reports, and previewed a robotics trip. Coder Elementary's Tech Ninjas presented. Citty reported on the Fast Growth Coalition legislative conference, and the board recognized state swimmers and the state horse judging team. Bobby J. Rigues reported about 100 education bills in the session, highlighting SB 13, HB 150, SB 3, HB 21 and HB 22. There were no public comments.

The consent agenda passed 6-0. Chief Financial Officer Earl Husfeld presented budget projections and, with Buford Thompson Construction, the Walsh Elementary schedule; PTO president Jennifer Taylor reported 541 member families and more than $260,000 given to the district; and CTE coordinator Mary Smith followed up on the TAPR report.

The board approved, each 6-0: TASB Policy Update 107 except policy CDC, which returns later; the robotics super-regional trip to Athens, Georgia; and the 2017-2018 staffing projections. After an executive session, it approved Sheri Coll as principal of Walsh Elementary, 6-0, and adjourned at 9:52 p.m.
